What ending did you get first try in ANF and what one was your favorite?

edited December 2017 in The Walking Dead

On my first try, I managed to save both Gabe and Kate. My reasoning for going with Kate is that I trusted Clem to handle David on her own. I felt really lucky getting this ending the first time.
My favorite is when you follow Gabe and Clem follows Kate. As much as I like David and (kind of like) Kate, I felt like it was a good place to resolve their story arcs. Plus, I like the idea of Javi commanding Richmond while raising his nephew. I don't know why.

  • First time I got David killed but it wasn't even on purpose as I was by his side most of the time so I felt really mad, plus I had no idea why Clem chose to split with me so I did some research and saw the choices that affect Clem's choice to come with you and got the ending where Kate dies.
For me the best ending is when Kate dies, Conrad and Lingard are alive and David comes back to Richmond. I have no idea why this is but I suppose it's got something to do with me pretty much hating Kate since the beginning.
If it were up to me I'd have everyone alive, have a distant relationship with Kate and try to set an example for David to follow. I don't see Javi as a good leader for a community, I'd rather see David again, he seems like a capable leader.

  • First time, I went with Kate to save Richmond but Clem went after Gabe and David and I had both Kate and Gabe alive at the end.

Then, I changed it with the ending where Gabe dies. I wanted that shitty character out of my face ASAP.

  • In mine, Me and Clem BOTH went after Gabe. Took NO chances. MY FAVORITE was Javi going after Gabe w/out Clem, David dying, and Kate going missing.

  • My first ending was David dying and Kate MIA, also my favorite ending since Davids death scene is the best scene in the entire game and very well made IMO

First time, me and Clem went to save Richmond with Kate, which got Gabe and David killed. I actually loved this ending at first.

Second time, I went after Gabe & David while Clem helped Kate save Richmond. I liked this ending and I believe it’s the best ending to get.

  • First ending I got was go after Gabe while Clementine goes with Kate and I haven't changed it. I agree with you that it resolves their story arcs rather nicely, with the exception of Kate perhaps. David dies an emotional death and says goodbye to his brother, Gabe steps up and makes sure he doesn't turn, Javier has a badass scene against the walkers, and Kate vanishes into the herd she feared after saving New Richmond and might still be out there. Also didn't take up the leadership position because there was bad blood between Javi and New Richmond.

Out of all the endings, this one has the strongest Walking Dead vibes. It was a perfect mixture of emotion, action, and mystery. Other endings feel a bit lackluster tbh.

  • Yeah, that was also my favorite ending (I meant to say that Kate had gone missing instead of dying in my earlier post). :)

Wow. The general consensus is that Kate goes missing is the best ending. Neat.

I ended up with Kate and Gabe since clem said I will go after Gabe and I should go with Kate and I did what she said since she is the smartest character

  • I got Kate dying and David and Gabe alive which is also my favourite ending.

  • i got David and Gabe living on my first try and i think im gonna stick with that one althought the one with Kate missing does seem better.

I never actually bothered playing From the Gallows when I saw that multiple endings was a thing. Especially with ANF!Clementine as a metaphorical Red Ring for your savefile.

However, I can easily say that the Splitup to Save Richmond ending is my favorite of all the endings.

  • Which one exactly? Javi goes after Gabe/Clementine goes after Kate or the other way around?

  • I cannot believe I actually forgot. Never happened before with TWD. Might of been where everyone basically made it if that's possible not sure. I know I remember Clem riding on my back with the motorcycle as well and this was the scarred forehead Clem. Ooh well New Frontier was just that forgettable I guess.

  • My ending: David died, Gabe lived & Kate is awol : (
But I really wanted the ending where Kate & Gabe were alive, supposedly the "good" ending. I don't think it's possible to have David survive with Kate & Gabe alive. Can only have one or the other. so meh.

  • Yeah, in terms of how it works, its
    75% David
    50% Kate(debatable)
    25% Gabe

  • Honestly, I'd much prefer ending with David. Not only cause he's Javi's brother, but because I'd like to see them actually have a healthy relationship. I mean in the end, if you do manage to end up with David, he walks off then later returns. idk if that's a hint for what's to come in S4, but I'd really like to see them together. To me Kate only caused confusion. I think letting her die is best for her. I don't hate her or anything, but she isn't beneficial to the group with her emotions all over the place.

  • I had Kate alive but David and Gabe dead. I frankly prefer to have David and Gabe alive, since I was much closer to David and stuff. I'll stay with what I got though, I reckon. I'm not the kind of person to change their choices.

You have to spit in David's face instead of saying goodbye to AJ.

  • How oddly appropriate.

And the most in line with the image of a "functional family."

  • I am sorry if this comment is really long. But during my first play through I expected Javier Clementine and everyone else to find something to seal the breach and get rid of the Walkers in Richmond. However when David and Gabe left and when I was presented with the choice to go after Gabe and David or Save Richmond with Kate I was struggling to make a decision. I was trying to decide if I should save the lives of the people of Richmond by going with Kate or should I go after my family. However I had a feeling that David was going to die even if Clementine and I went after him and Gabe. I really struggled to make this choice but I decided that Javier and Clementine ( who at this point told Javi that she will follow his lead by going wherever he goes) would go after Javiers family. I loved the action sequence where Javier manages to kill the Walkers using his gun and his baseball bat. That scene was epic in my opinion. When I saved David and Gabe I told David to come back to Richmond in which he did. I am very happy with my choices and I stand by them. I feel as if they are the right choices for me :)

  • The only good ending is the one that you are most satisfied with. For example in my play through Javier and Clementine went after David and Gabe. I asked David to come back to Richmond in which he did. I view that as my Good Ending as it the ending I was most satisfied and happy with :)

  • Honestly my favorite one is David and Gabe living but i do think there could be more to be done with the ending where Kate dissapears .

  • Now that I think about it, I wasn't even the slightest bit of satisfied with my ending :/ I might go back and replay it for that one. I don't like replaying single episodes. It ruins choices made in the past.

  • is it another way to get that without spitting on him?

  • I was always confused about what path Clem decided to take. If it was the face-spitting thing, wouldn't that make that seemingly insignificant choice the decider of David's fate? And isn't their an option where Clem just follows Javi?

    @Malachite
Welcome to the reasoning as to why I still haven't bothered with the episode.

  • Where clem goes is based on what u did in the flashbacks if u were cold then she goes with Kate because she us doing it for her not anyone to make sure aj has a home to go to if they need it if u were giving ava a chance and sticking with people she goes with u if u made her level headed like say no to ava and give aj medicine and she thinks that u and her should each help Gabe and Kate if u made her understanding like sat yes to ava and put the drugs back she will help Gabe

Okay, if you wanna add some proper punctuation and capitalization to make things a little more comprehensible, that'd be nice.

  • One the one hand, I agree with what you and Dabig said about good grammar being preferred as opposed to "txt speak" on a message board, but on the other hand, that response went a bit overboard.

Good grammar as opposed to "text speak" is strongly encouraged on the Forum Guidelines, but let's not go too overkill in asking others to type better.

As for stitchfan, please try to type a bit more clearly (and spell out full words where you can). It makes messages easier to read for people. Thanks. :)

  • We just have to be careful about this. Not everyone has a strong command of the English language and we don't want to exclude them from conversation. If you know the person can communicate more clearly, I would still discourage correcting them openly on the forum. It could, again, discourage newcomers from feeling welcome.

Sorry for barging into this. I just wanted to toss my 2 cents in. Let's all just be friends.

Yeah, I guess I did go a little overboard :D . Sorry about that. Stitch, I hope you understand that I wasn't trying to offend you with any of that reply. I just think that, as a forum, we should be working together to try and improve our community. I guess I went too far. Here, I'm going to delete my reply. Sorry about that!
