@Menofthe214 Ummm didn't Nick Almost kill Clementine when he first met her and almost killed her on the bridge? I'm suprised no one blames him for what he did. Besides if Kenny hadn't been much of dick to Arvo and everyone else, I bet Arvo wouldn't have shot Clem.
One obvious difference between the two is that Nick wanted to kill Clementine over a paranoid misunderstanding motivated by past trauma and later grew to accept her as a group member, while Arvo ended up actually shooting her due to both a misunderstanding & his embittered paranoia due to Kenny, plus the fact that never really got to know her on a non-hostile level, which he himself can [unknowingly] pre-empetively lament.
@VengefulKenny Yep, it was Arvo's rifle which was stashed around the house somewhere. It is scary to think of because when Arvo runs across the ice, he was probably seeking to retrieve it and pick off the group while they were stuck on the ice.
Thanks for chasing him Kenny.
Yeah, I can't believe I never put that together myself despite having all the pieces.
That would've been a hectic way to miss breakfast. Or darkly comedic. Either way.
Melton23 But he didn’t ;3 besides, Nick didn’t get an entire group to attack Clementine and hold her at gunpoint, while threatening the life of a baby as well as threatening t9 rob them.
To be fair, the latter two were the aggression and seemingly on the spot idea of his leader Buricko, respectively.
@M@Menofthe214 I don't remember Arvo's group threatening a to kill a baby
It technically wasn't the intention(I think), but you can definitely charge Buricko for that: as you recall, Clementine/Kenny/AJ alerting Arvo to AJ's presence causes him to shake what little willingness to rob them he had in favor of cluing Buricko in. Unfortunately, Buricko [still] wasn't willing to back down and instead continuing challenging the Howe's Ski Cabin Group despite Arvo's plea, which eventually resulted in him starting the gunfight in response to Clementine/Kenny/Kenny having to suddenly shoot Rebecca's Walker.
Maybe your right but it was never really clear if Arvo meant to shoot Clem on purpose so he might regret it. Yes he ran away but if he stayed he would've probably been beaten to death by Kenny.
I know a notion that I saw flying around on occasion was that if you were nice to him, Arvo actually shoots Clementine on accident. Having reviewed variations of certain cutscenes a number of times, that implication is indeed there. My criticism therein is
question why didn't the cinematic director(s) highlight that detail if they were gonna bother including it.
Also Arvo didn't really get a chance to change considering how bad Kenny was to him.
Assuming he really needed to change much before the abuse started, anyway.
I'm kinda disappointed that we'll never know what happens to Arvo though because I was willing to forgive him (unless he ends up trying to kill Clem).
He was actually the main thing that kept me invested in speculating for a while about "Season 3" for a number reasons. I eventually lost interest sometime around the cover art and true title's reveal.
And then the screenshot with Ava went up on Twitter....
@TwinkleToesClementine I hope your not being biased just because you don’t like Kenny. I think the reason Arvo shot Clementine was because she shot his sister though she had already turned. Besides, I let him keep the medicine and defended him a lot but he still shot Clem which is pretty messed up.
Eh, I'd say it was all the other trauma when through under Kenny, which was making him increasingly hostile throughout the episode. Natasha getting shot [twice] just made him really cross towards Clementine, to the point that he initially refused to speak to her when they got to the power plant.
Also, he shoots her no matter what because drama/plot says he had to. Even though it's arguably pointless/superfluous.

So I'm guessing it's an unpopular opinion to like Arvo then? He seemed like a good kid to me. It's understandable that he'd be on edge after his entire group was wiped out including his sister. He probably didn't even have much of a say in the holdup on Clem's group. It seemed pretty clear that he was just dragged along into it after informing his other members of his confrontation with Jane and Clem.
But oh well. Can't wait for his return in The Final Season where we'll be given the option to bash his head in with his own leg brace. Gotta appease the "Nobody hurts muh Clementine and lives!" crowd somehow.

According to TV Tropes, yes. Also, the many people saying some variation of Fuck/Kill Arvo across the internet.
Though almost every character has some fans.

Pretty much the case.
It was actually worse originally, as they were outright chasing him through the woods when they ran into the Howe's Ski Cabin Group and just decided to capitalize on the situation.

I honestly don't see [much of] anything with him happening there.

I’ve changed my mind, I wanna shoot him in the shoulder instead just for the irony. I also kinda want tt to give us the option to stick our thumb in his wound just for the satisfaction, so I also hope he returns next season. And I swear if he does more damage and fucks off again...

It's not that much since you don't get to interact with him much and he barely speaks unless specifically "encouraged" to, but yes.
I wanna there's about two other instances where there's a slight difference in his behavior, probably when they get to his house. It's been a while.
@Melton23 I’ve changed my mind, I wanna shoot him in the shoulder instead just for the irony.
Ch'yeah, as someone who grew to like him over time and is way more interested in what kinda of interactions, motives, and determinant morality changes there is to be had if he should come back as a preferably significant player rather than for just any arbitrary revenge scenario, I do recall imagining a scenario or two where Clementine does exactly that. Not even intentionally in one of 'em.

@DabigRG wait, you have watched the scene variants and Arvo acts different if Clem has been nice to him?

Well if you can recall the differences i would love to know
I hope Arvo dies!!!!!!!!!!!
