I believe there was a post or video saying it got pushed back to Summer of this year.
And honestly, I don't really care much at all about The Final Season.
With Batman Episode coming 23rd January and possibly/most likely Episode 5 to release in March time. Which leaves Telltale to work on The Walking Dead, for a few months. As an article said “SUMMER RELEASE” and Job J states Q2 release aswell. So I will predict, with the information I have, Episode 1 of The Walking Dead: The Final Season will premiere 19th June. Also I predict that we will get screenshots on May 13th and a trailer on 5th June.
I think that the games is set to release in the summer even though it was assumed to come out in April/May.
Also the first season was amazing, second season was great, A New Frontier fell way to much into Robert Kirkman's newest stories which is the communities. To be honest, in the comics I didn't care about any of the other communities except for Alexandria and the Hilltop but only because Maggie was there. The communities are part of the problem for the show and the game.
Summer release and quarter two...
quarter one: January, February, March
quarter two: April, May, June
So... sometime in June? Because if it's in July or August wouldn't that mean that it's technically not in the second quarter. Darn it. I was hoping for April.
Oh, well. There were A LOT of criticism of season three. I hope they use the extra time well.
More like news at Pax East for Final Season
My expectations are for Clementine to be able to talk about her past experiences a lot, and for us to be able to shape how they affected her. No more of this "newcomer friendly" bullshit. The final season should be for the FANS and be full of as many callbacks and references as possible. Newcomers can either go play the other 3 seasons or stay away from s4, because there are fans who are more than 5 years invested in the series at this point.
It sounds like the plan is for it to start coming out this summer, but with everything going on with Telltale it may be later. Honestly I just want them to take their time and focus on making a good quality game. If what they are saying about making fewer games but games of better quality is true then Telltale may be heading in the right direction. However things sound as though they are still pretty shaky with Telltale so I'm not going to get my hopes up for a Q2 release.
As most have said likely this summer. With the shakeups at TT recently and the reception of ANF, it wouldn't surprise me if we didn't see the first episode until Q3. I'd of course like to play it sooner rather than later, but them taking their time with it might be for the best, it's the final season and deserves a strong sendoff after how good the first two were.
As far as what I'd like to see, Vengeful summed up my feelings nicely. It's the final season, treat it as such instead of worrying about bringing in new fans at the old ones expense. S1 and 2 both had strong followings, rather than alienating them for the sake of a few new fans, do what most good sequels do and have it build on what's come before. ANF essentially worked as a standalone entry and the it was received about as horribly as you'd expect from a good deal of longtime fans. They should be less focused on interjecting comic ties into the game simply to give the artificial feeling of it being connected to something larger and focus on the story. And I sincerely hope they take the story back to its roots and get away from this appeal to 14 year old Michael Bay fans attitude, the mindless headbashing noscoping headshot QTE action set pieces only served to highlight just how weak the characters and story was in ANF.
On a personal note, it may just be me but with the way some determinant characters had a tendency to pop back up in ANF I really hope they don't bring back determinants from previous seasons. I went through a lot of trouble to put Gabe down, I hope it wasn't for nothing.
Hopefully we will get more and better character bonding (other than clementine) and I'd like to have more "walking around" scenes where you can freely speak to the other characters and start getting to know them. That was a real dealbreaker for me in ANF. I hope they will consider giving us more freedom.
I am not sure when it will be released.
Season One was great, Season Two was very good, Season Three did not accomplish what it should have. Even though Season Three was a good Season, it lacks in continuity, which is understandable as they are trying to focus on a more accessible story for the newcomers. Nevertheless, they are not supposed to stall/ignore the main story, that being said, I expect them to fix such errors with the upcoming Season.
Hell, it lacks in it's own continuity towards the end.
Indeed.
yeah, that would probably be the case
