Location, Location... (Unofficial)

What are some ideal locations you guys have in mind for future installments? And how would you react to an installment outside of the US?

You know, I thought that A New Frontier was going to take place in mexico or south west United States. In season 2 Clem can suggest going to Mexico so I thought that that was supposed to be some sort of foreshadowing but more than anything the trailers of ANF made me think Mexico. The music in the first few trailers of ANF had so many western southern vibes to it but it turns out it took place in Virginia.

  • Texas because it's an area we hear about in the game/comic but we dont really know what's going on there. Would be a cool setting because it's huge and racially diverse and there's lots of guns.

More than anything I would love more mountain and wilderness environments like s2e2. There's just something so mysterious and ancient about those locations that draws me to it.

Yes! I remember this, even though it was supposed to be taken as a joke, for a short time I thought of the possibilities. Mostly how we'd react to it and how it all could go wrong :D. But I'd be comfortable with a change in our current environment. I'm not a fan of Fear but it seems to be working fine.

Somehow I knew they'd stay in the same place, only thing I didn't know is "when" and with whom. It's pretty funny but when I first seen the cover art for ANF, I didn't wanna play it cause I didn't know where Clem was lol. I was like "who's that chick that looks like her?" :D Someone then clarified it for me.

Isn't Rick from Texas? Can't remember but I do recall him mentioning his hometown somewhere in the comics. But Texas would've been perfect for Negan's introduction. He gives off that feel lol. Just needs a 10 gallon hat :D. Texas is very spacious as well, could be helluva lot of story to tell and a lot going on. I ship it.

Ahh yes, I can definitely see a lot of people losing their minds in that scenery :D. I mean we've seen what it does to people from Morgan, to the Wolves. And if she's even alive it would be a nice place to introduce Lily.

  • Rick is actually from Cynthiana, Kentucky, the same hometown as the creator Robert Kirkman. And from there they've more or less migrated North towards Washington DC. Add this to the fact that we've explored Georgia, South/North Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee, and Ohio/Michigan in the game and you realize that we've seen the majority of the East coast and North/central of the United States. Southern United States and places like Texas/Louisiana/New Mexico could be a welcome change of scenery.

And yep, I much prefer the stories of isolation in the wilderness as opposed to the urban environments.

It is getting pretty repetitive now that I think about it. Fear seemed to be doing pretty well in California, well now Mexico. And all I've been hearing about it this "cross-over" madness. Would be interesting to see how Telltale migrates. I think at the moment they're just overwhelmed by the next step for the future, and trying to make the best decision in regards to a new setting.

So when Kirkman looks in the mirror he see's Grimes! :o

  • I wouldn’t mind if they went south towards Mexico, almost near the border of it. I always wondered if there would be people camping in the desert. Also, having a Latino vibe will be cool like the setting or the characters themselves.

If they do something like that, then I would have it be set in either New Mexico or Texas near El Paso.

Definitely El Paso. I wonder if feelings toward ANF would've been better had it been set in that area instead. Albuquerque, NM would be a nice too. I can already see an array of Breaking Bad nods throughout the game :D it's irresistible.

  • Na dude, in the beginning everything started out in California, then they met a traveler with a boat who had plans to go to Mexico to meet up with his people. So they're just there now. I quit watching it, it puts me to sleep haha.

  • One thing I thought A New Frontier was great at was the environments. Everything was unique and such.

I don’t really have a preference for the location as long as it can be interesting. Richmond was very visually interesting.

At first look I wasn't too excited for the new style, but afterwards it kinda grew on me. Now I'm expecting TFS and future installments with the same graphics :D or better.

One thing I'd be really excited to have added is ongoing snow.

I thought Prescott had the best environment in Season 3. Also I thought Richmond was the worse environment in Season 3 as it had it’s backgrounds in drawings, not in-game graphics.

  • Prescott was really cool. I wish we could have seen a lot more of it and had the entire settlement be a giant hub.

  • I expected Prescott to be the final destination for us in the end. First place you see, last place you end up. Everything we could've asked for was there really. I personally think it would've been a good place to end. But I am glad Telltale had it overthrown in a logical way instead of us just not hearing or seeing it again. It isn't Richmond but it was good enough for me.
