Expectations for The Final Season?
We have not seen any Trailers or Images of The Final Season at this current moment in time.
But we have had some information released by Telltale regarding who all will be working on The Final Season, along with potential Returning characters from Season One, and a pet companion similar to Shiva from the Comics and TV Show.
So judging by how Telltale and the Development team have been speaking about The Final Season, as well as the information we have so far how do you think The Final Season will turn out? Please be respectful to Telltale Staff and if you have any negative comments please post them in a calm and peaceful way so to not offend anyone. And please refrain from completely shutting the game down by saying "It will be terrible" or anything of the sort. I am sure the Staff look through the forums often and we don't want to discourage them or apply pressure to the work they are currently ongoing.

I'm hoping to see Christa since she disappeared unknown in season 2 episode 1. And we still don't know what happens to Christa's baby.
As much I want to see Kenny in season 4. I don't think he'll be in season 4. One reason is that in season 2 episode 5 people less than 20% people went to Wellington ending with Kenny leaving possibly could still be alive. Another reason is that on season 3 aka New Frontier with Kenny ending he died by Walkers after a car crash and we have seen he got consumed rather than in season 1 we never saw his death screen.
We might see flashbacks of Lee or a mention of Lee in season 4 since we're going to play as Clementine. Also, don't you guys notice that Clementine doesn't really mention about her parents as she does in season 1? Like in season 2 and 3 I heard mentions of mostly Lee than her parents.
So yeah that's my thoughts on what might happen in season 4 aka the Final Season.
I have a pretty open mind about this last season. I have seen a few posts from staff members that suggest the return of hubs and what not similar to those seen in season 1 and if they are serious about bringing them back it sounds like a good sign. I think the CEO posted something about their company becoming smaller again and making fewer but better games so it sounds like they may be returning to their roots when they made season 1 and Wolf Among US. I have also heard that one of the lead writer from season 1 episode 4 is returning as a supporting writer for the final season so that's a good sign. Overall it sounds like Telltale is learning from past mistakes and triumphs so I'm hoping that they pull off a good season that can even rival season 1. That said I am getting way too hyped for the Final season and I nead to control myself more or I will likely go in with way too high of expecatations and fail to see the good aspects of the game.
I'm what you call "Cautiously Optimistic" at this point. I want this Final Season to be good. I've heard some GOOD things from the Staff and CEO. But I've also heard some BAD things from OTHER people as well. I want to be excited, but I also want to WAIT before passing any sort of judgement.
I just want two hour episodes again. A bonus episode would be lovely since it's the last round and to make up for New Frontier and a bit of season two.
And DLC episode like 400 days would be neat. I honeslty would love to see the 400 days cast return
Maybe clementine will die? Since it is the last series.
I really do hope the 2 hour episodes would return.
Also I would love to have flash backs/ dreams of the characters that have been killed. including S1 cast, the cabin group and Lee T_T
I would love to see Christa/ Molly / Lily again if possible. episode
Also if we can see more 400 days cast that would be amazing the only appear briftly and they quickly go away in Carvers camp. So if we can get another bones episode with I would love that. I seriously want to see Russel and Vince again
Agreed would love to know what happen to Christa and her baby.
As for CLem not mention her parents she prouablly has less memmories of them. Humans are like that they have less memories of when they were a child/ teenages when the are adults.
I expect there the Episodes to be at least 2 hours longer or more and 3 bonus Episodes like Minecraft got to make up after A New Frontier:)
If they're seriously looking at feedback, longer episodes and more hubs with branching conversations like S1 had. Hopefully they'll revert back to the way the first two seasons felt, gritty, dark, and grounded. ANF generally felt like it was aimed at teenage boys who flock to see whatever explosive summer movie looks super badass and awesome despite it's rating indicating it would be for a mature audience. There's plenty of mindless badass games to occupy that slot, bring back the heart that made the first two games so successful.
Expectations:
[Edit] Also if they somehow worked it that you could get outcomes with Kenny and Jane if you had those S2 endings where they lived, it'd be incredible but I think that's a stretch. Still, to fans that love those characters, probably be the icing on the cake.
The saddest two things that might be happen ,bcs u know telltale make sad things so we can cry and pay, are Seeing the characters that are dead in other words flashbacks about them especially Lee bcs he was great character idk how can someone hate him and the other is Clem's dead and maybe Javi and AJ's deaths i will not be suprised if they all die.[SPOILER ALERT DONT LOOK AFTERWARDS IF U DIDNT PLAY THE SEASON 3]
About season 3 as everyone who played that season knows that Kate is gonna be dead,Gabe-dead and David-dead so in other words it will be end like everyone will die or something like that that as ''Final season'' damn i loved these series but telltale as always will kill the main characters
I really want this Season to be good, I hope they'll take into account the feedback from the fans and go on the right path with this game.
It's their last season so I imagine it won't be too difficult to make choices matter and get different endings based on them. I don't want endings that split right at the end like how Season 2 did, it would be cool if there will be different paths that lead to different endings, maybe starting from Episode 4.
We saw some parts of Clem that reminded us of her past self, she covers those parts pretty well because she doesn't wanna feel hurt again but I'm hoping we get more of that in The Final Season.
hum so will this be the last Walking Dead game ? or the last one from Clementine story ? i wouldnt mind if they keeped with the license but creating new stories..
I'm not sure about Clem dying, they couldn't end 4 seasons with her for her to just die and then be like "that's the end... yep, that's it". It's so complicated to write for this type of game, this is why I'm hopeful that the writing team had a clear vision of how this will all end before they went into this season.
Personally I'm hoping for an ending where Clem is able to walk off with AJ and the game leaves us on a note where the vast majority of players would be comfortable leaving her character in that moment. We'd be comfortable with the fact that we aren't going to see her again but she is still out there somewhere and we, in our own minds, can wonder about how long she survives past that point and what kind of situations she would find herself in etc.
But I'm no writer, so I don't know what's best haha! I like you're suggestion for some of the 400 Days characters to return too
While reading that, I was just thinking of this song again. Playing in the background while this takes place.
They said they are ending Clementine's story but not The Walking Dead as a whole so yeah, expect new stories after this one.
Your comment combined with your username sums up what I want from the final season. I don't want Clem to die, and I've expressed before that I feel like her dying would negate all the sacrifices made before to keep her live. Anyway to piggy back on what you said, I would like for Clem's arc to end in a way where many questions regarding herself are resolved, answered, or revealed (sorry Christa ), and we can walk away with a good idea of who Clementine was, is, and has become. While her personality will have some differences with each player's past play-throughs, the main foundation of Clem is known. We can be at peace with what has happened, who she is, and the fact that her future is unknown. I want to feel like a parent send their child out into the world; unsure of what lies before them but understanding we must let go and confident in what we taught them to make them a good person.
Id just want a story that beats along the lines of Season 1 and Season 2. Season 1 was about a man given a second chance at life to redeem himself. Season 2 was about a young girl growing up in a world gone to hell. And Season 3 was like... about something? Don't fuck your brothers wife? idk. Anyway Id want it to be as far away as ANF as possible. So no over the top action, characters who when they die I feel bad and not laugh as they go sky diving off a bridge, and for some actual difficult choices. I cant think of any choices in ANF that were truly difficult. They were all pretty black and white.
Please no big bad antagonist, it just doesnt work. Season 1 didnt have some BIG BAD and that game was great. Season 2 did but not for the full season and they kinda fell flat. And then ANF came and made the whole plot about us being against a group of people. Only problem was the New frontier was the weakest antagonist telltale has ever done. So I really hope they just do a story about Clem, and not "CLEM FIGHTS THE OLD FRONTIER IN AN EFFORT TO FIND AJ AND HOLY SHIT GUYS HER SECRET BROTHER IS THE LEADER???????"
But we had 2 whole minutes of David, WHAT A CLIFFHANGER! But then that guy who means nothing to us was replaced by some generic villain who we could end and Clem is so diverse because 2 minute scenes involving completely irrelevant choices SUPER INFLUENCE HER CHARACTER YAY. Holy shit, I must have missed something lol
Psh ikr, 2 mins was way too much, so we better get that random guy walks out and Clem goes "b-b-b-BROTHER?!?!?!?!" like omg genius story telling
Poog, that's just silly. We'll clearly get a playable flashback to when he walked out of the family portrait because he saw a shiny marble. #plotconfirmed
I expect it to be like Batman: Enemy Within (minus most of the action) if the final season is good and like the back half of Season 2 if it's bad.
Gary Whitta, the story consultant for Season One and The Final Season said in a podcast back in November that he knows how The Final Season will end. He said he wants to do the character of Clementine justice. So I do not think she will die.
Could you send me the link for the podcast?

Skip to 00:35:09 of the podcast as that is when they discuss the Final Season I hope you enjoy!
Thanks
There seems to be two sides of fans on this matter for Clementine's fate. Those that want her to live on in a happily ever after Disney-like ending for a Walking Dead game. And those that want the gritty truth ending set on realistic pragmatic occurrences that lead up to her eventual darker fate which could include her demise which is the exact atmosphere of a Walking Dead game. This could lead the developers to make it yet another choice based outcome due to division among fan's beliefs for how Clem's fate should turn out where she either lives or dies based on options presented. In reality I doubt death would stay back just because Lee and whoever else helped her survive along the way. If that is the case then why even have Clem go through any adversity when everyone knows she's going to make it anyhow just like Superman and other heroes that always make it and defeat the bad dudes.
Then some people want to talk about predictability being an issue with Clem's death when in truth her living then walking away into the unknown yet again.... is most predictable since she's made it through THREE seasons of which everyone always worried she'd die in each and every one of those games in the past.
Lilly should make a return. I don't know if she would be better as an antagonist or a protagonist to clem
It will be a masterpiece...I have faith in you telltale
For all the fans barking about how critical nudity is(comments are all over the place, but it's on-topic here), I hope the next season has some hairy man-ass and a nice wrinkly set of balls, just for them.
I'm a male, and even I'm finding some of those comments unnerving. Just because something is in the comics, doesn't mean it has to be in the game. If Telltale thought that way, there wouldn't be a Clementine. We've had cannibalism, kidnapping, and murder. I think the tone of the world has been set.
But hey, that's just my opinion.
The **** are you babbling about? You still on about that shower scene stuff? We got an eyeful of Ethan Mars ass, let it go man.
No. There were a few comments about how the new season should match the comics in terms of how dark they are. How sex, nudity, rape should be included in the Telltale game(they were in other threads). I'm not against having darker tones, but the couple of people that specifically pulled out nudity, made it sound more about sleaze than darkness.
Again, this is just my opinion about what I do and do not want in a game. I'm not right, I'm not wrong.
Pretty sure youre pulling from a rather small minority there, I've seen only like 3 threads that ever talked about going in that direction, and even then it isnt a bunch of people going "YEAH NUDITY SEX AND RAPE FUCK YEAH THATS MY FUCKIN JAM!!!"
Oh it is definitely a minority. If it was any more than that, I don't think I'd be sticking around, honestly. They obviously weren't so gung-ho about it either, but when the reasoning is "because the comics do it", it is unnerving because it makes me think that they want it just-because. This may not be the case, so I didn't quote anyone. I just want Telltale to take a high road when handling dark subject matter.
Now, I don't read the comics, but I do know Kirkman's background(I've seen him on multiple comic documentaries) and he was a big pulp comic fan(pushing everything further) and it doesn't surprise me if it has bled into his work. Without going into politics here, I believe this is something that we need to take care with. Certain aspects of that style should go away. Violence is fine. Go for it.
And... You know. I think I have a little issue with throwing in my 2 cents now and then instead of just letting things die. Something I'll work on. Honestly, did I really need to say anything at all? Nope. I'm just bored.
I think they only want it for the realism (or so I hope). Let's be real here.... if an event like the Zombie Apocalypse or any sort of catastrophic event were to take place and there were survivors some of them would behave in that animalistic way (rape of women and girls, extreme brutal violence, cannibalism the list can go on I am sorry for what I said in my first example of animalistic behaviour I do not know a better way to put it). Despite Telltale not going with the "realism" of the environment and how some people may behave to one another in that situation they have still found success in telling the story that they want to tell. Kirkman I am sure has faced his fair share of controversy over the explicit content in the comics but Telltale have a different approach to the Walking Dead Story. Kirkman in my opinion shows the dark and brutal side of the apocalypse, Telltale in my opinion show the hopeful and "human" side to the apocalypse and that despite the circumstances Humanity still has faith in itself and that life itself can still go on during the apocalypse.
I am sorry if my comment causes any offence or disrespect towards anyone. I did not know of any easier way to put it. If it does bother you please contact a moderator and ask for it to be removed. Thanks ?
My bad then. Ima agree with you then since Clem is a child, so she really shouldn't be explicitly exposed in that or any way. This is an M rated series, so they really shouldn't be bitching out on the more visceral elements again either.
Yes! This is exactly what I was going for! You've put it in better words than I did, I really like the parent and child analogy you used, it represent exactly how I feel about this coming season. (p.s. thanks for the compliment on my username haha x)
Good to hear, thanks for keeping me updated! Been gone from the forum for a while so I'm a little out of the loop leading into this season :)x
What I would like for the final season is where Clementine starts hallucinating about Lee. It would be a cool way of bring him back as a way to tie in the season 1 and he can give Clem advice based upon the choices that have been made.
