What if the St Johns hadn't been *********?

I probably did the spoiler title wrong, but yeah. One thought that I've had for a while is what if the St Johns - Andy, Danny and Brenda - either weren't cannibals, or were and still planning to kill Lee, Clementine and co. for meat, but had a change or heart? Something like the Greene family to Lee and co's Rick and co. I could see the motor inn group moving to the dairy and/or the bandits and/or walkers attacking the farm, forcing the St Johns to go to the motor inn with the group. Beyond that, I'm not too sure.

Any thoughts? Am I making sense?

  • It depends... when would our group find out that they are cannibals but they changed their mind ? Is it after they hacked off Mark's leg or before ? Because I'm pretty sure they wouldn't be allowed to come with our group if they knew they were cannibals.
If they wouldn't have been cannibals at all then yeah I can see it happening: bandits attack the dairy and they either defend the dairy against the bandits together or are forced to move back to the motor inn. Ben would still make a trade with the bandits, Lee would find out about it and brake the deal, the bandits would attack and they would be forced to leave in the RV. Now if this is what would happen Larry would still be alive and Lilly wouldn't be pissed so she wouldn't kill Carley / Doug. I don't know how they would all pile up in the RV but let's just say there's space for the story's sake. They would all find the train and go to Savannah so I don't think the story would change THAT much, maybe some of them die during Episode 4, I'm thinking Larry can't live for that long with his heart condition, maybe they all get split up from Lee at the end of Episode 5 and they end up with Christa and Omid then Clem would find them all and be with them in Season 2 but as far as Brenda and Larry go I don't see them surviving for long. Also Mark would still be alive.
Basically the story could change or not, we just don't know, we can only speculate.

  • In terms of them still being cannibals, I'd say something along the lines of this: Mark stills gets a crossbow bolt in the shoulder, but instead of cutting his legs off, Brenda gives him proper medical care. Lee and Danny still head out into the woods and encounter Brenda, and if/when the slaughterhouse is discovered, Andy gives the same excuse he gave Lee - butchering whatever they catch on their hunts.

    Something like that.

If someone hasn't played walking dead season one by now after nearly six years and foolishly snooping around on walking dead forums while caring about getting spoiled about said game then they without doubt deserve to be spoiled.

  • Uh, what exactly is the spoilered word?

Oh, well that's a bigass "IF."

The whole point of them turning to cannibalism was because they were desperate for food: Most of their cows had died off, the cities were filled with walkers and most uncrowded stores were probably raided, Save Lots had already given away most of it's supplies early on, most of their dairy products had been either eaten or traded to the Save Lots Bandits, and it takes a lot of time to grow more agricultural resources.

As Brenda said, you got monsters going around eating and tainting every living thing they can catch--why not follow suit?

    Cannibals.
