What ending did you get first try in ANF and what one was your favorite?

  • Okay, I decided to just get it over with for the time being and got the Split Up to Save Gabe ending.

I want to go back to get the Good Ending at some point, but first I need to get a solid answer on what triggers what since most of my choices have lined up with what is allegedly required.

  • You might have to go back because it sounds like something is boned in your save file man. I followed exactly those choices after restarting episode 2 because the game didn't tell me which decision I made, and it successfully let me ensure Gabe died. It really is simply a matter of obscure choices that result in which ending you'll get.

I know, I just wanted to finally scratch completing the Installment period off my list since I was literally right at the moment of truth.

Ah, I gotcha. That was one of the things that worried me too, it had been over a year since I completed episode 2 when I finished ANF, I ended up marathoning the last 4 episodes. I don't think there's anyway to see which decision you made in the unexpectedly important flashback from episode 2, it's probably safest, if excessive, to start there on your next run just to make sure. I know episode 3 had an issue with the Conrad decision not being recorded correctly so I had assumed decision errors started between 2 and 3.

Fixed. Then again, that first one was too big....

More or less the same here, though.

It's under Ava's ending photo. Made sure to take notes while the credits rolled.

Didn't they patch the game forever ago though?

The patch I'm not sure of, I just heard that a lot of people had issues with it. Considering Javiers back pack was glitching through everything as it stretched beyond known gravity when I played, I figured it'd be safer to assume other early issues were still present. As for the choice, I meant under the option where you can see your major decisions, I checked before starting episode 3 but it was surprisingly absent.

  • Yeah, I noticed that too. It sucks, since that's a small but major deciding factor in how the story will resolve but the game doesn't remind you outside of maybe the Previously On segment.
It doesn't help that I recall being told that spitting on David also has an effect, yet there's no record of it when I scrolled back through the choices.

  • I had Clem staying loyal to my Javi and wanting to go wherever he chose to go. I helped Kate save Richmond, so both Gabe and David died. It's also my favorite ending since I don't like neither Gabe or David.
