One gripe I have about A New Frontier is that it felt too much like the TV series
And it less like the game series anyone else feel like that?

The tv series has far too many characters to focus on nowadays and many of those hardly get any screentime whatsoever is my issue. In the past we had Rick’s enclosed little group who we grew very attached to. That can’t happen anymore. ANF is bad for different reasons but i see what you are saying. The whole community thing does make it feel similar. ANF didn’t have too many characters to focus on, they just failed miserably in developing them because they no longer have writers able enough for that job anymore.
I'm pretty sure I recall the developers saying ANF was intended to be the installment in which the game falls closer in line with where the comics are, hence the presence of That-Paul-Guy to help further bridge things. And people have been comparing the Garcias to the Grimes family constantly.
Kinda, the TV show and ANF do have similar issues. Non-stop unrealistic scenarios, reliance on shock value, characters that die and we dont give a shit about. It is annoying, my main issue is that ANF felt way to action centered for some strange reason, instead of character driven.
I think what makes it seem very similar to the TV Series is that both A New Frontier and Seasons 7 and 8 of The TV Series focus on Community Warfare. Both have communities that are engaging in a dispute. Prescott had very little screentime in A New Frontier but the survivors of the settlement (Tripp and Eleanor) are against The New Frontier and it leads to dispute (Eleanor sides with The New Frontier as she realises that they have far more strength and need more help compared to Javiers' group.) That is my personal opinion
Well one thing the comic, show and games all have in common now is some guy (or guys in the TV show's case) can have his brains bashed in by hero and or villain via baseball bat. Except one was a good guy and the other a bad guy.
Well if they don't "TV" it up they'll never win that Golden Globe
The TV show has devolved into nonsensical gun battles with little to no meaningful character development, much like ANF. The show also provides a rotating cast of red shirts that we are somehow supposed to care about, much like ANF.
I really hope that the final season moves away from the current practice of killing off characters just for shock value, and gives us sufficient time to get to know characters before giving them a meaningful and plot-relevant death.
Indeed. That makes total sense. It's no wonder why people didn't/don't like ANF.
It definitely felt more like they condensed the large action segments of the later seasons while omitting the slower, character focused episodes with ANF.
