Am I the only one glad we didn't have "Next time on TWD..." in ANF?
In S1-2 most of them were completely misleading from what the actual episode ended up to be.

Well it's not exactly a good thing though, because the previews at least showed that TT had a plan in mind.
Just because they were misleading, doesn't mean none of the gameplay events are similar to the "Next Time On" previews. At least they gave us clues what will happen next. The lack of ANF "Next Time On" previews, made me feel empty and not speculate what will happen next, it clearly proved that Telltale ran out of ideas what they should have done with the story, not to mention how many rewrites did that season have.
I miss the next times a lot, considering all Telltale does now is end on a cliffhanger. Even though the next times werent always SCENE FOR SCENE, they always did give players some small hints to what was to happen next and it was more fun to speculate. To be honest, them stopping in ANF kinda just showed they had no idea what they were doing. Next times showed that there was a plan going forward, now that they are gone its just "welp I sure hope they arnt writing this live with no plan." Removing rewind is still an issue too, honestly feels like they removed it so people couldnt rewind to change a choice just to easily see "oh doesnt matter at all."
The Next time segments were there to help emulate the feel of a serial, which is essentially what these games are. They gave brief clips of key moments to get you excitied for the next episode. And at this point, the stuff that ends up not happening are at least interesting to discuss and even outright necessary to get an idea of how things may have gone had they been followed through.
A New Frontier lacked them completely because of the constant rewrites the story was undergoing even at the premiere, so not having any would theoretically cut down on the expectations for continuity and the complaints about certain moments never happening. Even still, it's very telling that the 3 month wait between Part 2 and Above the Law turned out a better, more cohesive ongoing story than the 1 month waits for Thicker than Water and especially From the Gallows.
I am glad they removed that feature when ANF came around. I get that they are supposed to build up hype for the next episode but I feel like that's what the trailers are for. When I played season 1 and 2 I always turned off the game before the "Next Time..." segments played. After I played the next episode I would go back and watch them and I am glad that I skipped them, especialy the one for season 2 episdode 2 the "Next Time..." in episode 1 completely spoiled the surprise of Kenny returning. Luckily, since I ignored it I was able to enjoy the shock to its fullest potential.
Also, am I the only one that thinks it is hilarious that in ANF episodes 4 and 5 they changed the "Previously on The Walking Dead..." from Javier's voice to Clementine's? I remember looking at the forums after episode 3 came out and everybody was so pissed that Javi was voicing it instead of Lee. I really didn't care about the change and thought it was hilarious when so many people were making a big deal out of it. I also found it funny that after the episode 3 fan explosion they switched the "Previously on The Walking Dead..." voice to Clementine.
I agree with the first 4 non-OP comments. If we don't get these in TFS, we don't have much reason to believe that they thought anything in each next episode through. Hopefully, they'll include one that leads into the series finale, too.
While they may have been misleading, it definitely gave a lot of things for people to talk about regarding not only the next episode, but the rest of the season. It gave a sense of direction for where the story was heading, which at least hinted at the idea that Telltale wasn't just making it up as they go (which seemed like what they did with ANF). I'm not going to say that getting rid of them is a huge complaint I have with ANF, and games like Batman S2 shows that not having a next time segment doesn't necessarily mean that they're winging it or that it can't be good, but I do miss them and wish they would bring them back.
People were mad it was changed from Lee saying it to Javier because Lee's voice felt fitting for saying it, considering everyone still thinks of Lee in these games, they wouldnt even keep him as the "Previously guy" because Telltale was so hellbent on making this game "new." People were then mad it was changed to Clem because it felt like Telltale was trying so hard to pander to fans by going "omg guys pls Clem is important shes saying the thing guys pls." It just felt really really disjointed, much like all of ANF's development. The swap from Lee to Javi to Clem kinda shows Telltale didnt understand where ANF was suppose to be relating to, or what character actually was the focus.
I can understand not giving a next time for episode 5 (except for Wolf that did it which was kinda strange) like what Telltale games used to do because it is the last episode and it builds more suspense.

I see your point.
