Season 2 ending

What's the best ending? I just played season 2 again and I think the Wellington one is. It's the safest place for them but I can understand why people would want to go with Jane or Kenny

  • In my opinion there's no "best ending" but if i had to pick one i'd pick Wellington. There's also an ending i really like it's the one where you let Kenny kill Jane and you just shoot him.

  • The truly alone ending, where Kenny crosses the line making sure Jane wouldn't screw over anyone else and Clementine puts him down after letting him realized he's a rabid animal before marching off with AJ in hand, broken and betrayed.

@iFoRias There's also an ending i really like it's the one where you let Kenny kill Jane and you just shoot him.

That's the one I rewound to get.

  • This is question is really subject to your personal opinion. There are pros and cons to each ending it's up to you to decide what you think is best.

  • All the endings kinda suck knowing what the aftermath is in season 3.

  • Considering the only real impact each ending has is their own type of bodily harm towards Clementine, I'd say the one where she gets AJ tattooed on her hand is the most pleasant. Of course if you're the sentimental Kenny loving kind that chose the Wellington ending there's Kenny's hat, but we haven't seen it come into play yet.

The "best" ending IMO is the alone one, because at least then you aren't subject to the other ones, which are all very bad when they transition into ANF.

If you want to eliminate ANF completely, it's really up to your view and how Clementine has become. If you supported Jane, you'd go with her, if you supported Kenny you'd go with him or respect his wishes by staying at Wellington. In this situation, I'd say leaving with Kenny is the best option, because that's the past my Clementine chose, this of course is disregarding ANF and pretending it never happened. In ANF's case, it's very bad.

Haha no way, that is by far the worst ending and i am not saying that as a Kenny fan but because it’s so dark and out of character for Clem to do that so easily to someone like Kenny. I hated it. Only the extreme Kenny haters would like that

  • Haha no. This is the worst ending and you know it. And rewinding to get that ending? Dude i won’t lie, I’m disappointed with you

I know this is out of character for Clem but i just love dark endings so i guess it's just me.
"Best ending" is probably Wellington because it's the "main goal" about season 2 and that's what Christa wanted in the beginning.

My favourite ending is the Wellington one.

Clem finally reaches the goal she's had since the beginning of the season. Her and AJ are safe and we get some nice closure to her relationship with Kenny. I must admit, I had tears when I chose to leave Kenny behind.

    You're my man, Ken!

(Yea, I'm choosing to ignore what follows in ANF)

  • Well, it really brought the fact that there's no [maintained] option to shoot Jane to light. Might as well be rid of both of em at that point.

And then Telltale went "Ohwaitaminute, he rewound to get a more complete ending?! * Makes ANF!Clementine a walking Red Ring * "

From a practical standpoint, Wellington is definitely on top of them all, with Clem and AJ ending up in a presumably stable community with an abundance of food, water, clothing, baby formula, not to mention overall safety.
Next in line there'd be the Jane endings with Howe's being a less safe and less supplied version of Wellington but still containing baby formula and walls. Whether taking the family in or not is a good idea is debatable.
As a 3rd we'd have the Kenny ending only winning to the Alone ending due to the duffel bags and Kenny's presence as the somewhat capable adult he is.
Lastly, there's the Alone ending which might've as well been called the "suicide ending". Absolutely ridiculous odds of survival here, for both Clem and AJ really.

I myself prefer the Jane endings even when looking at it in a merely practical manner. Venturing to the icy wastes of Ohio with no supplies, directionless, on a gamble that you'll find a settlement that maybe exists when you have a 4 day old newborn in your arms with nothing but a blanket? Not a risk anyone in their right mind would take.

  • The way i look at it is that Howe’s was just as much a risk as Wellington, the reason being the distance to get back to Howe’s would have been further to get there as they had already travelled north for a few hours, then there is also the risk of the herd still being there if Carver’s men had all died and failed to kill them all. Admittedly, Howe’s was the better option only because they knew where the place was but it certainly wasn’t ideal either.

The whole ending and episode 5 was badly written regarding AJ’s stupid unrealistic survival anyway. He would have died long ago in those conditions and both Howe’s and Wellington took 9 days to get there which is ridiculously false.

One thing I have to say about the season 2 finale... If you think about it the writers were complete geniuses as well as sick bastards for making the Jane and Kenny fight end at a playground. Playgrounds are a symbol of childlike innocence. This made Clementine's reaction to the fight a symbol of innocence lost. How I see it, this is the event that completely drained the last ounce of childlike innocence that remained in Clementine when she has to either kill Kenny or sit by as he kills Jane.
