I dunno, man. No Time Left came out in November of 2012. S2 started up in December 2013, and was officially announced/revealed in October (screenshots, teaser, etc).

ANF wrapped up in May last year. Footage of S4 is coming in April, just shy of a year since ANF's finale. Similar passage of time, all things considered.

Of course, it's hard to determine how much of that time was spent in development for either. But surely it can't be a huge world of difference, right? Not to mention 400 Days coming out between the first two seasons, which to me would suggest that S2's development probably really kicked into gear sometime in 2013.

Pretty worrisome to be honest. Considering it seemed like no development really got started until January and now already they plan on showing footage, it just makes me think its going to be rushed as hell again.

  • I hope we see some familiar faces we haven't seen in awhile. Aka kristia or lily.or anyone else

  • The only real difference is that S2 was planned since Ep 3 of S1, which was August (basically Sept tho) obviously thats not a huge difference in time, but it was planned. S4 seems like a big after thought though. It really feels like Telltale was like "shit we need another season cuz this one was such a train wreck" and just went "Clems story continues haha" and then went "o fuck" and now have just started to even write this damn thing. S1 had things like Kenny deciding not to be killed off because they had some type of plan for the future and wanted to bring him back, while S4 already seems like theres no other future plans other than "clem goes to ranch lmao." And I would arguably say S2's writing probably started not super long after S1 ended, like I just said they already were throwing ideas around like Kenny coming into Season 2. Also 400 days probably didnt have the biggest impact on the story considering only one writer worked on 400 days and S2 Ep 1.

S4 seems like writing just started in January. Im sure development started sooner than this, but its probably more engine stuff, while important, isnt whats going to be the important part of the game, the story is. So knowing the story has not had that much time to be written, and that april is already ready to start showing first looks, I worries me.

  • I think writing began at an earlier time. Back in November Gary Whitta said in a podcast that he knows how the story will end

  • These new survivors Clementine is with...do any of them know how to cook? Because our daughter deserves a decent meal and can't keep eating canned slimy cold chicken for the rest of her life.

  • So I finally decided to pop in here and you know, with 44 comments in 3 days, I kinda expected more.

  • I read that one of the telltale staff says that he will be in season 4. But if that’s true then it will be cool

  • Not really,i think he could do an appearance really fast to help Clem, just like i hope Conrad make an appearance.

  • The chance of Conrad coming back is zero to none not even mentioning he just vanished for nearly the entire finale if he's alive plus he's a extremely determinant character. Honestly I don't know how Javier would find Clementine or why he should be involved considering he determinatly is the leader of ANF. Plus Javier had a fairly decent ending for his chapter waving Clementine off into the sunset with the remains of his family returning back to the now freed community to rebuild.

Still hoping for Conrad to show up (at the end of the season as an easter egg ?),and yeah Javier is "determinantly the leader of ANF" but i guess they could do something where he leave to help Clementine and someone else is the leader for a while maybe..

And Conrad was supposed to show up at the start of episode 5 or somewhere else in the middle of the episode but they probably cut it.

If Conrad appears in The Final Season, he is probably going to be seen fixing the walls in Richmond and having a single sentence as he is triple determinant, he could possibly have a role like 400 Days characters in Season 2.

  • Eh, I'd be more on the lockout to determinately seeing Kate before those two and I've stated my thoughts on that.

  • Good news is that Batman: The Enemy Within Episode 5 will release on 27th March. After that the spotlight is for THE WALKING DEAD: THE FINAL SEASON! THE HYPE IS REAL! :p Then we get a preview at Pax East on April 6th o:)

  • I'm hoping we get a possible release date with the preview as well.

  • I wouldn't count on a release date reveal that soon, but I could see them strongly hinting at the general intended release timeframe.

  • I'd like a ballpark range at the very least. They have nothing once Batman concludes at the end of the month so I'd imagine all the focus is going into TFS and probably TWAU S2. Maybe they'll release the premiere by May or June.

  • Assuming they are still aiming for the summer, I would guess around late June or late July since they normally release later in the month on a Tuesday. I could also see a August release date possibly too.

  • I think that's pretty likely, since the series seems to be surprisingly close going off of what we know.

Game of Thrones Season 1 was in a similar position, with not a lot being said about it until around like two months (give or take) before release.

  • If they do bring back familiar faces in this season they likely won't reveal it in the trailers.

  • Coming from someone who found this and leaked it: That description was altered. It isn’t the same. Im positive there was something about Clem and “new survivors” in that description. The giveaway/ Q n A part was NOT there before

Also am I the only one getting the vibe that whoever tweeted this was pissed I found this out early and we all posted it everywhere? XD

  • How long do you think the ‘early glimpse’ will be?

  • Good thing they were smart enough to do it on a Friday rather than the following Monday.

  • Probably the same length as the first trailer for ANF.

But they said early glimpse/preview so it’s most likely won’t be as along as a trailer.

  • I'd say 30 seconds to 1 minute probably similar to S2's teaser or ANF's original teaser

  • I'm really curious about these potential new "survivors" as i feel this could be bad or good depending on how Telltale handles these characters.

Late to the party, but ok then this is a thing. Didn't expect to hear anything about S4 until at least April. Wow.
    Colour me... cautiously stoked?

  • Ya'll ready to see what probably won't make it into the final game??? I'm excited!

I must be the only one who's still hoping for more than five episodes,i'm sorry but if minecraft can get 8 episodes i believe Telltale could do the same or a DLC showing us what happened to Lilly and the 400 days characters.
