She is supposed to be a little girl, but she doesn't act like one, do you know any eleven year old girl that can stich up her own arm for example.
Do you know any eleven year old that has been in the zombie apocalypse for the last 2 years?

Some people's body's simply mature faster than others. There are some people that look like teenagers clear into their 30's and teenagers that look like adults while they are still in their teens.

The youngest Clementine is my favorite. She's a mature, kind, and polite girl, acting as the moral compass of the group, and trying her best to maintain the humanity of the group in a post-apocalyptic world.
Not going to say Clementine as that's too obvious of a choice. So i'd have to go with Ben. People keep mentioning Sam. Samantha Fairbanks from Michonne? She's 22 so she wouldn't qualify for this list. She has a nice bust though.
Who dat in between Ben and Becca? Was he in Michonne series or something?
Unpopular opinion but I thought Becca was great and I enjoyed t… morehat story the most in 400 days. It would have added some spice to season 2 if she was in it for longer.
* Clementine - good
* Duck - good (his death was the most emotional moment in the series for me)
* Ben - Lmao what a wimp but still a good main character that actually had an arc. Contributed well to the entertainment of season 1.
* Sarah - alright I guess. Lame ass death though.
* Arvo - Danger to the group. Not much sympathy for him, even though Clementine and Jane technically started it by robbing him.
* Michelle - Lmao, destroyed by Christa.
Don't know enough about the other characters to form opinions on them
They throw in one lazy bit of dialogue that Christa showed her how to stitch up wounds.
Some have speculated she had to cut the baby out of her and had to show Clem how to stitch up her belly. Just a fan theory, though.

The funny thing is, we are to assume that Christa taught her how to stitch up arms, but hasn't taught her how to build a fire yet? Seems backwards...
Like why is stitching literally the only thing we know that Christa taught Clem? Just for that scene, I suppose... But Telltale should have included other survival skills as well. Maybe it would have made more sense for Clem to already know everything that Jane tries to teach her.

To be fair, Christa says that Clementine needs to be able to do it herself, implying she had to have Christa help her when she tried in the past.
Kenny's otherwise unnecessary 2nd flashback has something similar happen.
Maybe it would have made more sense for Clem to already know everything that Jane tries to teach her.
Honestly, the only things Jane truly taught her was to check bodies for loot and to stab walkers in the back of the neck. Everything else, she did or witnessed beforehand.

Because season 2 is poorly written.
Or maybe the fire is a sore subject since Omid apparently promised to teach Clem how to do it. Probably claiming he was an expert on it too.
Maybe it would have made more sense for Clem to already know everything that Jane tries to teach her.
They apparently forgot that Clem ALREADY did the "kick zombie in the leg" trick before she even met Jane.
Reaaaally dumb.

So Clem actually is terrible at survival? She's been living in the countryside for 16 months, she should be able to build a fire by now...
It's almost like she's an extra small little girl with skilled, loving parents(or parent and step-parent) who suddenly had to deal with zombies killing two of her temporary guardians and rely on the kindness of strangers to survive.
Clem does both of these (determinately) in the first 2 episodes... Thanks for nothing, Jane!
...Oh shoot, I think you might be right! Where does the stabbing come in, though?

Season 2 is so weird. One moment they seem to want to make Clem uber-competent badass, the next she acts like a helpless scared little girl again.
The first two episodes especially keep bringing up "oh clem you're so tough surviving out here on your own so long"
uh, no... she didn't. she was with christa, and then she was alone for like one day and she spent most of that with a dog. She would have died if she hadn't ran into luke and pete by complete ?accident? ?coincidence?

Yeah, the YoungandYoungatHeart person noted that Suetiful storytelling of having to have other characters( or at least Luke, Jane, and especially Carver) praise Clementine in order to make it clear that she's special and signal that they're important to [what was supposed to be] her story.

I know, right? I know it's the apocalypse but it ain't that damn bad.

I think that author fell into the trap of going too far in the other direction, where everyone treats clem so horribly it becomes almost comical. He's got a fetish for misery, that's for sure.
I know, right? I know it's the apocalypse but it ain't that damn bad.
Which brings me back to some vague wonderings about season 2. About how dark it could have been. Did they at one point envision Clem as living out in the woods by herself for a week or so before running into the cabin crew? I really enjoy the desperate, lost feeling you get as clementine in that part and kinda wish it lasted longer.(although it kinda messes with the pacing, even the way it is right now. But that again relates to how they cut down on scenes with clem interacting with the cabin group)

Probably. I feel like that would've made her priority to find Christa that much more desperate. Like how her expression shifts while talking to Victor.

Yeah, he thought carver giving that "we're not so different, you and I" speech to a little girl was silly (which it was) but instead he has Carver see absolutely no worth in her, and he lets his lackeys torture and beat her. There's a female replacement for Troy who's also Carver's "girlfriend", and she frequently threatens, beats and insults clem while she stays at not-Howe's. I'll give a shout-out to the scene where she calls Clem a dirty mulatto and pretends like she's going to shoot her whilst the two are alone.
Probably. I feel like that would've made her priority to find Christa that much more desperate. Like how her expression shifts while talking to Victor
Well, there have been more awkward time skips. I wonder why they didn't do it. It really does feel like it, now that I think about it. Just think about her meeting with luke and pete and their dialogue with the context of her being on her own for over a week. It fits so much better.
Eh, it was alright.
It's not like there was much else going on in episode 1. You can't even really get to know Sarah unless you do some dialogue choices that really don't make sense when you're a person desperate to get back outside and sew up their arm.

Yeah, that sounds more interesting and it gives Mike more time to get accustomed to Howe's.

Eh, sure. Actually I remember her death was really lame. She didn't even get to be killed by clem after torturing her for tons of chapters.
Wait, when did they say that?
They don't say anything specific, it's just the vibe I got. Even if you tell them you recently got separated from Christa, they apparently didn't tell Nick, as he still says "no way she survived out here on her own" implying something really unbelievable.
But clem being lucky for like an hour isn't really that much of a stretch. Also she was literally about to get killed before Luke and Pete saved her, so what exactly is Nick's point?
No way, I'm sure originally the part with her alone must have been much longer.
Think about it, the title card for ep 1 shows clem wandering alone in the woods at night and being found by Luke (with a flashlight). There must be an interesting story there.

Actually, no. Not yet, at least. The subject has come up but no one has even tried to rape. There was a pedophile at not-Howe's who tried to take advantage of Clem, but Christa had already warned her about that and she saw through his "helpful facade"
The "worse" thing I referred to is when Clem tries to engage in another survivor community, she ends up getting accused of stealing supplies from someone (spoiler alert: she didn't) but they don't believe a little girl could be so competent or something, so they tie her to a pole, lash her naked back 4 times, and then kick her out of the community. And this all happened because another mega-bitch character felt like Clem swindled her in a trade they made, so she framed her. Also some kind of scavenger contest, it's a long story. The "funny" part is how that chapter begins with Clem so optimistic and hopeful that she'll win the contest, and then ends with her being whipped. Yeah.

Yeah, but I'm saying they didn't change the other survivor's reactions to match. There's a big difference between Luke coming across Clem straggling through the forest, and luke literally lopping off the head of a zombie that's about to kill her. Nick is supposed to be in disbelief that a little girl could what, get saved last minute by Luke?

Also some kind of scavenger contest, it's a long story. The "funny" part is how that chapter begins with Clem so optimistic and hopeful that she'll win the contest, and then ends with her being whipped.
Yeah.
You know what, it just occurred that the author also really disliked Season2!Clementine(or Muh!Clementine) and that could also double as some sort of catharsis for her apparently being a joyless, edgy bitchhole.
Oh, if he only knew....

Ben, Sarah, Becca, Duck and Russell are very well-written child/teen characters in my opinion. They are realistic and believable.
I wish Ben and Sarah survived in their respective seasons..
How can you hate Duck for acting like a child? I really like how carefree he was.
We needed to see more of Becca and Russell. Underused characters. I also think people need to chill with the hate on Becca.
We haven't seen much of Gil and I can't form an opinion on him, but he seemed like a good-natured boy.
I can't speak about the Michonne kids since I haven't seen the DLC yet.
As for my all time favourite kid, that has to be Ben. I relate to him a lot.
I wish Ben and Sarah survived in their respective seasons..
Eh, Ben I could take or leave depending on how it's done, but I obviously more than second the notion with Sarah.
I was trying not to say anything just yet, but part of me feels like she should've been around for The Final Season after seeing these new kids. She could've been a brighter contrast to Violete and ANF!Clementine, while also given the cast another [somewhat?] lighthearted character alongside Louis.
How can you hate Duck for acting like a child?
Because that's kinda sorta the expected and maybe even intended reaction: He literally exists partially to be the opposite of Clementine , and/ergo, make sure she looks good.
We needed to see more of Becca and Russell. Underused characters. I also think people need to chill with the hate on Becca.
You know what, I really do kinda like Russell despite his scenario begin an afterschool special. And that was before my he indirectly factored rewrites, even.
Becca being somewhat dislikable is both the whole point and part of the fun, in my opinion. Wasted character, even if I don't actually like her that much.
We haven't seen much of Gil and I can't form an opinion on him, but he seemed like a good-natured boy.
You know what, Gil was kinda nice. Kinda wish "we" got more time with his family, regardless of what that may have involved.
I can't speak about the Michonne kids since I haven't seen the DLC yet.
I liked and appreciated Alex. So there's that.
As for my all time favourite kid, that has to be Ben. I relate to him a lot.
.Ben is one of the best characters in the series, yes. And not necessarily for the reasons people generally give that accolade out for, too.

Yeah, I get it, okay? You are not that keen on Ben and Sarah is your bias(I really love her). There's nothing wrong with me wanting to see him improve and grow, I hope.
Both him and Sarah wanted to be better and had the group's best interests at heart. Ben was old enough to realize the dangers of the apocalyptic world, but also had the disadvantage of being too old to have protection, someone to guide him like Clementine had Lee. His teacher Mr. Parker was not around for long and he had to watch him get eaten/turn just like he watched his classmates get killed/raped. Ben was too young to have determination like some other characters(Lee, Kenny, Lilly, etc.) He was all alone. Nobody ever wondered how is he, did he have to go through traumas, did his parents die, except for probably Lee. He didn't have a character to interact with him - Travis died. The only reason for Travis's existence was because the writers loved Ben's former voice actor. Sarah at least had her father.
I was trying not to say anything just yet, but part of me feels like she should've been around for The Final Season after seeing these new kids. She could've been a brighter contrast to Violete and ANF!Clementine, while also given the cast another [somewhat?] lighthearted character alongside Louis.
Well... I have no idea what the descriptions of the kids are, my best friend and I were trying to find them, so okay, I guess. I do wish Sarah lived, though.
Because that's kinda sorta the expected and maybe even intended reaction: He literally exists partially to be the opposite of Clementine , and/ergo, make sure she looks good.
Lee's annoyance towards him is out of character. It looked like a fan reaction. He was NEVER annoyed at him.
Btw, Duck was not supposed to be as optimistic as he is in the released version.
You know what, I really do kinda like Russell despite his scenario begin an afterschool special.
He was so precious.

Rephrase that, please.
Becca being somewhat dislikable is both the whole point and part of the fun, in my opinion. Wasted character, even if I don't actually like her that much.
Yeah, she is not a sweetheart like her sister. It is understandable why would she have such attitude.
I always loved the thought of her and Clementine butting heads and Becca calling her out on her shit and terrible decisions.
I would have loved it if Season 2 was about Shel taking care of both Becca and Clementine.
Ben is one of the best characters in the series, yes. And not necessarily for the reasons people generally give that accolade out for, too.
Yes, he is also underappreciated. He is hated because he is one of the most human characters.
I wish Ben and Sarah survived in their respective seasons..
Eh, Ben I could take or leave depending on how it's done, but I obvious… morely more than second the notion with Sarah.
You know what, I really do kinda like Russell despite his scenario begin an afterschool special.… [view original content]
Yeah, I get it, okay? You are not that keen on Ben and Sarah is your bias(I really love her). There's nothing wrong with me wanting to see him improve and grow, I hope.
I had to read this a couple of times to get what you mean.
No, there's really nothing wrong with that at all and I'm somewhat sure that it could actually be nice to have Ben stick around past Season 1(Shout out to @UrbanRodrik). It's just that I'm also fine/accepting of what we have with him. It definitely helps that he's not only one of the best characters but probably the best determinant character.
Sarah at least had her father.
Words of Compassionate Wisdom.
The only reason for Travis's existence was because the writers loved Ben's former voice actor.
Yeah, I read about that. Funny how that turned out.
Well... I have no idea what the descriptions of the kids are, my best friend and I were trying to find them, so okay, I guess.
Here is my link in a thread talking about what we think of them.
Lee's annoyance towards him is out of character. It looked like a fan reaction. He was NEVER annoyed at him.
True. Granted, I don't immediately call much interaction between them before outside of "Oh HECK yes! Is there peanut butter?" "What do you think the answer to that is?" "...No."
I guess the reasons I didn't mind it as much is because it is more or less in the name of humor, Duck's being genuinely helpful in his own quacky way, and Lee does/can come around to openly appreciating Duck's help.
A fandom nod that Telltale of back then knew how to use both as a constructive lampshade and as a fun little bit of story progression.
Btw, Duck was not supposed to be as optimistic as he is in the released version.
Really now? Louche recently posted some unused lines of his, but I don't immediately recall many of them.

Very true.

ah, well, these days I guess 22 is the new 17.
Which is ironic considering 10 might as well be the new 13.
Friggin Chicken and Milk Steriods
despite people looking younger than ever, they also look older
...
Can’t say I have met someone from the zombie apocalypses
Clem is my favorite character in the whole series.
Holy necrothread Batman
Some people's body's simply mature faster than others. There are some people that look like teenagers clear into their 30's and teenagers that look like adults while they are still in their teens.
Or, we're looking at two very different artstyles/"artstyles" with different elements/standards.
Well yeah, there is that too.
You act surprised by this.
Travis? He's Ben's friend when you first meet Ben in season 1...Didn't realize how old this post was. Sorry.
Maybe it would have made more sense for Clem to already know everything that Jane tries to teach her.
can i just say because a few members here on this thread are ''banned'' and i recently got a 1 day ban,for TT staff and mods to respect differing opinions, thanks
To be fair, Christa says that Clementine needs to be able to do it herself, implying she had to have Christa help her when she tried in the past.
Kenny's otherwise unnecessary 2nd flashback has something similar happen.
Honestly, the only things Jane truly taught her was to check bodies for loot and to stab walkers in the back of the neck. Everything else, she did or witnessed beforehand.
I agreed, though.
Because season 2 is poorly written.
Or maybe the fire is a sore subject since Omid apparently promised to teach Clem how to do it. Probably claiming he was an expert on it too.
They apparently forgot that Clem ALREADY did the "kick zombie in the leg" trick before she even met Jane.
Reaaaally dumb.
So Clem actually is terrible at survival? She's been living in the countryside for 16 months, she should be able to build a fire by now...
Clem does both of these (determinately) in the first 2 episodes... Thanks for nothing, Jane!
No arguments here.
I can see the Omid thing making sense....but they talk about it anyway, so I'm not sure it makes much of a difference lol.
All the more reason for Christa to be the one that taught her everything she needs to know to survive during the time skip.
It's almost like she's an extra small little girl with skilled, loving parents(or parent and step-parent) who suddenly had to deal with zombies killing two of her temporary guardians and rely on the kindness of strangers to survive.
...Oh shoot, I think you might be right! Where does the stabbing come in, though?
Huh... Imagine that....
I was thinking of the bridge scene, but I think Clem only used the knee trick here. So you can say Jane perfected that move, I guess?
This 2016 thread has old comments of mine.
Literally why.
Oh really? I never got around to reading it. Or finishing most of the fanfics open on my phone, for that matter.
Probably. I feel like that would've made her priority to find Christa that much more desperate. Like how her expression shifts while talking to Victor.
Eh, it was alright.
Very true.
Sorry, didn't know where else to put this, so this seems as good a place as anywhere
Well, there have been more awkward time skips. I wonder why they didn't do it. It really does feel like it, now that I think about it. Just think about her meeting with luke and pete and their dialogue with the context of her being on her own for over a week. It fits so much better.
It's not like there was much else going on in episode 1. You can't even really get to know Sarah unless you do some dialogue choices that really don't make sense when you're a person desperate to get back outside and sew up their arm.
Oh what the fu--, are you serious?!
Man, talk about darker and EDGIER!
Okay, that's definitely trying a little too hard to be creative regarding things you don't like.
Yeah, that sounds more interesting and it gives Mike more time to get accustomed to Howe's.
Wait, when did they say that?
That's kinda my point. At least in regards to Clementine being on her own.
Ch'yeah, fancy time for a booty callgirl talk.
It gets worse than that.
Eh, sure. Actually I remember her death was really lame. She didn't even get to be killed by clem after torturing her for tons of chapters.
Oh, I'm sure it does. There's probably a rape scene or three in there somewhere, I'm sure.
Or even better, "L-Lesbian Rape."
D'oh, really?! Talk about missing an already missed opportunity.
Oh yeah.
Yeah, it really isn't.
I guess he was honing in on the fact that she was probably connected to some group and/or agreeing with Rebecca that she probably can't be trusted.
Think about it, the title card for ep 1 shows clem wandering alone in the woods at night and being found by Luke (with a flashlight). There must be an interesting story there.
Oh, definitely. Sean Vanaman did say there were, like, two scenes in the episode that were comparatively intact from the draft he turned in along with Nick Breckon.
I honestly don't even remember half these kids.
Yeah.
_
Eh, sure. Actually I remember her death was really lame. She didn't even get to be killed by clem after torturing her for tons of chapters.
See how silly it seems when I write it out like that.
Oh, really now? Okay, not as bad as it could've been.
What the hell?! Is this the Walking Dead or Django Unchained?
This is the same story that stars Clementine, Sarah, and AJ, right?
You know what, it just occurred that the author also really disliked Season2!Clementine(or Muh!Clementine) and that could also double as some sort of catharsis for her apparently being a joyless, edgy bitchhole.
Oh, if he only knew....
You said that already.
Oh yeah, kinda.
I think part of it is that they wanted to have a proper character establishing moment for Luke and to a lesser extent, the Randalls.
Eh, Ben I could take or leave depending on how it's done, but I obviously more than second the notion with Sarah.

I liked and appreciated Alex. So there's that.
