@Bruno113 And this is why they cannot kill off AJ over Clementine unless AJ got massive development and time to grow on fans like Clementine did in S1. Otherwise no emotional impact among the audience and therefore no memorable finale that stands the test of time. With Clementine being the only big enough death out of the whole season that will be tough to handle if they are going for a big character death then all arrows point in her direction. Javier wouldn't come back at this point.. just to die off.LOL though it'd be comical.
I'm gonna be so goddamn pissed if Clem dies for that little shitstain, AJ. I wanted to toss him in a garbage can and leave him the moment Re… morebecca squirted him out and left Clementine to deal with him. I've never liked that kid and if Clem dies for that little turd I swear I'll never buy another Telltale game ever again. I've already basically quit because their quality took a nose dive, didn't get minecraft, either batman, or guardians, but there are still a few titles I'd buy the sequels to, but not if Clem dies saving AJ. That's a giant slap in the face to those of us that never wanted to deal with him in the first place. I'll agree there's some poetry there, and if I actually cared about the shit it'd be ok but I don't, never did, and I seriously doubt the final season can make me care enough to be ok with her dying for him.
Now if she dies for some other reason, depending on how it's handled that might be ok, if it makes sense narrativ… [view original content]
I refer to AJ as a mcguffin simply because we the players have had practically no time at all to get emotionally invested in him. In Season 1 we spent the entire game with Clem, bonding, falling in love with her. AJ was just thrust upon us then was just kinda' there, didn't really do much. I know he was a baby so there's not really anything he could do, but that's why it's such a bad plot device. Clem didn't even really have a good reason to care about him. Sure, after 2, 3, 4+ years we can infer that they've bonded, but WE haven't and that makes him a mcguffin.
Well a lot of people especially females have this motherly instinct anyhow to care for younger children and siblings even if they aren't their own especially if they've had time to bond with them.. Lee took care of Clementine in spite of not being his biological daughter who'd highly likely had died in the early days of the outbreak without his help. Quiet as kept Lee also had no good reason to care about Clem.... but he did anyhow he definitely could of went about his business and probably would of lived much longer than he did as a selfish result too and now upon second thought this is the most likely real world choice that some men with only their own survival in mind would have made to be honest and not want a kid slowing them down or risking themselves with danger to defend or lack of food to feed. Only reason Clem is desired to be around now is because she wasn't annoying and had time to grow on people quickly.
It is also possible she wants to be like Lee in honor of him and emulate his actions.. Who really knows what could happen in season 4 regarding AJ. Perhaps he'll have the same amount of time to grow on folks like Clem did and people will be upset if he died as well because based on the recent art it looks as though AJ should be walking and talking by now so he could be the little Clem 2.0 for future installments since this is the end of Clem's story and not necessarily all Walking Dead material altogether from Telltale I think.
Not Mcgruffin, with an r lol. It's McGuffin. From the wiki article defining the term - "In fiction, a MacGuffin (sometimes McGuffin or maguf… morefin) is a plot device in the form of some goal, desired object, or other motivator that the protagonist pursues, often with little or no narrative explanation. The MacGuffin's importance to the plot is not the object itself, but rather its effect on the characters and their motivations. The most common type of MacGuffin is a person, place, or thing (such as money or an object of value)."

Well put, now I'm actually questioning my concern/love for this kid .

At this point, I think I may be leaning towards his death being the most comfortable with me . It's just the only thing I'm still unsure about is, what can Clem's story be worth without him? Not saying she isn't interesting, but what can Telltale do with her arc now, that'll keep us invested going forward? Guess they can only answer that with their back against the wall .

most would throw a tantrum if they showed Clementine getting ripped apart with guts flying out
Oh absolutely. lol.
how Tyreese, and Carl from the show died too.
If and only if she dies, this'll be the only way I'd accept it. I mean it's not like Clem's some type of combat maniac like David or something, I see no reason in her having to die in some gruesome way. And might I add, Telltale captured Lee's death so perfectly. It was quiet, high tensions, emotions all over the place and somewhat peaceful... It was perfect. That's what I'd like to have happen. Something peaceful. But I would be extremely pissed if they tried to recreate Lee's death this season. But only IF she dies this chapter.
God I was really hoping I didn't have to read anything like this Unfortunately I feel like this is a direction they might end up going. I m… moreean it's way more simpler and clean for the writers, but a total slap in the face to us invested. I'm highly against this ending. I hope this isn't anywhere near what we're getting.
Well it's possible but they wouldn't kill her violently I believe like Noah or Bre because most would throw a tantrum if they showed Clementine getting ripped apart with guts flying out or if they did they wouldn't show it and you'd see like an aftermath of it and then maybe have to put her down as AJ or Javi or maybe yourself as Clementine if still have the strength to do it. If you took notes from New Frontier Clementine did wish to go down fighting like Tripp did if she still has that same personality then something like T-dogs death could be possible mixed with a bit of how Tyreese, and Carl from the show died too.… [view original content]

Now that depends. If Clem gets bitten during this season, and references or thinks about Lee - even if she doesn't, all emotions are out the window in my opinion. Cause that'll only lead to too many nods to Lee and ultimately outshine her death. Clem needs to have her own unique exit for it to really be a stand alone season and to give us a gut punch. They've already referenced season 1 with season 4's cover and that even turned a few people off.
Gosh, and again ONLY IF, remember we're only theoretically speaking here
Clem kills herself. AJ dies (maybe even turns and she has to kill him herself), she can't bear it, kills herself. I don't like it, but that'd do it for a lot of people. Kinda' like the Sam/Henry bit in The Last of Us.
I admire that you basically say yes and then provide examples for how. Some are quick to say what is bad writing or good writing but never give an idea with steps on how they'd believe a scene can be better.
I like the idea of AJ turning then the suicide from depression if she caused his death by accident.. when she was suppose to protect him. Kind of like failing to do what Lee has done for her...but everyone would say Clem killing herself is out of character. Then again so was it for Jane on one hand and not in another if that makes sense..

But what if she has visions of Lee similar to how Tyreese had visions? I doubt she would be dying and not once reminisce about her times with Lee dying at her side.

Yeah that's also very true. I think it's safe to say that other than AJ, Lee is someone who Clem actually loves and cares about. So it would be difficult to not reminisce. I think it all falls down to how well Telltale writes it. I know they'll be extra careful though, especially being aware to our commitment to the storyline.

Can you truly have a high emotion death for Clem without it feeling like a rip off of Lees death?
