I want to see a zombie (Walking Dead or otherwise) game in the style of XCOM
Sometimes you're fighting other survivors, other times you're just scavenging, but zombies are always a concern and can easily overwhelm your squad if you aren't careful and let yourself get surrounded. All zombie bites are fatal, if not immediately then later due to infection.

On the topic of XCOM, I've been interested in it for a while but haven't managed to get around to playing it yet. What kind of a story does it have, if any?
I've only played the 2013 release and XCOM 2 from 2016; I haven't played the original XCOM game(s) but I'm pretty sure that the 2013 version is basically a modern remake of the original, maybe some original storyline but the main premise is the same. The main plot of the 2013 version is alien invasion. You're the commander of the resistance forces, using guerrilla tactics to fight the aliens and drive them off world. Small spoiler, but 2016's XCOM 2 throws out the ending of 2013 XCOM (where you win and drive the aliens off world) and instead tells you that you failed, you (the commander) were captured, and had been in cryo storage for 20 years. The tutorial mission is your (the commander) rescue, and then the game proper begins. It's worth noting that 2016's XCOM 2 was released 20 years after the original XCOM so given the commander's 20 year ice nap, XCOM 2 might actually be a sequel to the original XCOM and not the 2013 remake. I'm not sure on that one.
