I know Season 2 wasn't for everybody and there are a lot of people out there who hate it but I actually really liked it . In my opinion season 1 and 2 are hand-in-hand. I actually like season 2 ever so slightly more. I have posted these points numerous times but I’m going to post them again! And there is nothing you guys can do about it… well… there probably is… but screw that!
The finale choice at the end of season 2 was by far the hardest choice I have had to make in these games and that's why I really liked it. Kenny and Jane were by far my favorite season 2 characters. I was really invested in their arcs and the possible dynamics they could have had with Clem in the future really interested me. I really got attached to them. The scene was better written and much more complex than people give it credit. Having to choose between the two hit me hard. I’m not entirely sure if this was coincidental or not but making the finale of season 2 take place at a playground was pure genius. Playgrounds are a symbol of childhood and innocence. Clementine having to choose between two awful scenarios symbolized the loss of the last ounce of her child-like innocence. I found it devastating that even after two years Clementine, a child, was still choosing whether or not to pull the trigger through tear-stained eyes. Though this time for very different reasons. Both outcomes are depressing and I like depressing crap so yeah.
I almost agree with the hand-in-hand. I liked playing with Clem more than I liked playing with Lee (a lot because im "Clementines number 1 fan" lol), however, I enjoyed the overall story of season 1 just a tiny tiny bit more than season 2. And I also agree that season 2 was a great story... I don't understand why people say it is so much worse compared to season 1. And people also say that Clem was taking too much on for her age but I actually thought it was perfect how they set it up. I mean sure thats a ton of responsibility for an 11 year old but thats the reason its perfect... because only our clem can handle that; which is what makes her so lovable because she's not like everyone else.
Oh, and my favorite moment is when Lee walks through that herd of zombies to save Clem... because thats when you know that Clem will not just be another "survivor" but someone who will have a huge impact. I am also a firm believer that telltale will not kill Clem in The Final Season (hopefully I am right).
Thing is, the way they made Clementine act in season 2 is more realistic than not. It's a shame so many people don't understand this and are so quick to label it as "unrealistic". In recent years people have really forgotten just how capable children really are. For example, in the 1800s before they banned child labor, young children were expected to carry out a trade and often their jobs could be relatively complex. Children are capable of adjusting and maturing to hard situations just like most adults can and sometimes depending on the child's personality and maturity they can even adjust faster. Luckily child labor has been banned in most countries for a long time now, but that doesn’t change the fact that children have more potential and are more capable than a lot of people make them out to be. Clementine is an example of this kind of potential coming to the surface. Clementine really is such a tragic character. She was so sweet and innocent but the world wouldn't allow her to continue to be that person so she had to give up her childhood, harden, and develop more cynical and realistic views of the world just to stay alive. In season 2 after the "16 Months Later" she really isn't a child anymore. She might have the body of one, but due to all of the awful things she has been through her mind and maturity level has matured rather rapidly to the point that she is more akin to an adult rather than a child. The reasons I love these games so much is because the majority of the focus is about Clementine growing up in this world. It was a nice change of pace from the typical apocalyptic story and for the most part it is a very realistic take on how a child would change after growing up in such a harsh world. Clementine's advancement really was interesting and I am excited to see her as a mother in the final season.
I am also excited to see how they handle AJ in the final season. I think AJ has a lot more potential than a lot people may think. He doesn't know anything of the world before the outbreak so the apocalypse is the only world he knows and understands. At least with Clementine, Telltale has done a good job capturing what it is like to grow up in the apocalypse. I hope they do the same with AJ. Also, I am actually intrigued by some of the new characters for the final season. Adults who have lost everything is a trope that is explored over and over, but what about a community of children who have lost everything? It will be cool to see Clementine finally interact with other kids her age who are close to being on par with her when it comes to survival. The final season could easily crash and burn but if Telltale pulls this off they will be telling a story that hasn't really been explored in depth before.

yea, I agree with all that. And though many (dare I say most?) people think that Telltale will not succeed I believe they will do an amazing job with the final season. Also people say things like "AJ is useless". And if that is true then what was the point of Clem. Because even though we all love her and she wasn't an infant it does not mean that the situation has many differences from Lee and Clem. It will just take us some time to get to love AJ to the same standard that we love Clem.
Yeah, it is surprising how many people on these forums have so much hatred for a baby. Fictional or no, I just don't understand it. AJ hasn't really done anything to deserve to be hated. A lot of people are going in with the mindset of "I'm not attached to AJ so the final season is going to suck." but Telltale still has a full season to develop Clem and AJ's relationship so it's too early to pass judgement like that. There was no development of Lee and Clem's relationship prior to season 1 yet Telltale did such a good job developing it in a single season and because of this, season 1 is revered as one of the best story games of all time.
I think some people might see it as a replacement young Clem and don’t like that. Some might not because of him many characters ended up dying after he was born. In any ending you go with in season 2 it can be argued that A.J. caused someone to die or get hurt.
The people who died to save AJ had a choice to do that.
Ya I’m just saying people might not like that.
I'm not one of those people who says the Final Season is gonna suck just because AJ is in it but Telltale are gonna have to work really hard to make me care about him.
This is something they should have done in A New Frontier,and that baby has been the cause of many problems.
I'm tired of people saying "how can you hate a baby so much" Jeez..It's The Walking Dead,and the game is set in the universe of the comics there's a lot of fucked up things in the comics.
Don't be surprised if people hate him they have their reasons.

Season 2 when everyone was just having fun, talking around the fire, it was the first time in the series where the group just put everything behind them and just enjoyed each other's company.

The one where Conrad is alive and instead of Tripp nearly killing you everyone is working together and the mood is good, and Javier goes and tells them how the plan to save David is going to work
I think sometimes people forget that Clem is just another survivor now and that, after all, life goes on. I see AJ that way.
Did not you play the third season?
I really enjoyed Season 2 and the callbacks to season 1, especially when Clem talks to Luke in the Cabin and you can reminiscence over Lee

It's a similar metaphor in S1 where her dress or gown in the beginning is all clean and the further along in the game you get the more soiled it becomes until filthy at the end in the grasslands. I took her last bit with getting kidnapped by the Stranger and shooting Lee as loosing her last shreds of childhood innocence and learning how awful the world has turned out. Though the playground is a good metaphor I wouldn't give S2 writers that much deep credit more likely a coincidence.. Though they did do better than S3's larger team.
