Do you think they will make Clementine's fate determinent?

Do you think they will end Clementine's story by having ways she could both be alive or be dead depending on choices. Or do you think they will keep her alive through all the choices?

I would think TellTale would want to keep her alive just to keep the possibilities open for more stories to be told about her (rather that be she be brought into the comics or perhaps years from now they decide to do another game with her). A big reason they are probably ending her story now (yes the negative feedback probably has something to do with it) is the fact that the game is currently right in line timeline wise with the comics now. Season 4 will pretty much be the first game in the series where you could say is happening at the same time that the current issues being released in the comic are. And they probably aren't allowed to move ahead of the comic.

She should be determinant, have at least one ending where she dies (i'm curious to see how they would handle this) and i guess other endings where she's alive.

She should live in all of the endings. It'll be good to see her perspective of wherever she ends up in ep 5 from our choices. They've already explored the main character dying in season one, try something different now. You can make a satisfying conclusion without using death. I think that's the most respectable way to send off the character you've been building up for the last 5 years or so.

  • Most likely to not step on any toes. Nothing wrong with people that want this.. Though I don't want another determinant end like season two and three. For the last season I am looking for something more direct and linear with closure. What a determinant end will do is provide like half closure. If they keep Clem alive and quit making games they are essentially admitting that they (a company that boasts in the name their exceptional storytelling abilities) cannot keep up with the comics and shows storytelling. Clementine will be alive in some playthroughs and even if dead in others she won't be in every outcome making it possible she could show up in the future as a cameo. But what if this is true and they decide they don't want to make anymore games? As if Lee was dead in some playthroughs and alive in others.

The Lee alive outcome people will be expecting Lee to show up somehow, someway, somewhere arguing with the dead Lee outcome people saying Lee is not dead he's alive which is true and not true at the same time. If Lee was alive and they made no more games or references to Lee at all, this would be frustrating to folks that want to know what happened (some folks may like eternal mysteries for characters fates.. but most might like closure). Like Kenny with the Wellington ending where he leaves. It's possible he could be alive or dead. No one can know for sure and technically Kenny can be both dead and a missing character without a confirmed death in that storyline. Death is depressing however on the would be positive end there is no more open ends that lead to annoying speculation that can be true or untrue because no one would ever know. Clementine is alive?=Well make more stories! Clementine is dead?=Oh well she won't be forgotten as well as unknown.

TL;DR Alive = No end to the open ends Dead= A universally known closure.

  • I mean no disrespect towards those who would like to see a determinant ending but honestly I would like to see a singular ending. We as a community have shared the same starting point since Season One (reaching Clementines house, meeting Clementine and having to leave Lee behind) so I think that we should have one ending. My explanation may seem flawed but it is my own way of thinking of how the Series should end.

  • 50 endings please

Tbh if this is the lest season truly then make 2 one where she dies a horrible death because of our villainous actions(determinant) and another one as good girl clem.

  • Or rather, 4--2 outcomes for each.

50 endings please Tbh if this is the lest season truly then make 2 one where she dies a horrible death because of our villainous actions(determinant) and another one as good girl clem.

  • I like the idea of letting her live for future open possibilities. Maybe she'll end up in the comics, or maybe Telltale decides to continue the story when the comics will be in the same timeline as the game will be in S4... who knows... But I wouldn't waste such a character as Clem like this imho.

  • in a way with Overkill's WD game coming out it's sort of ruined a few outcomes of S4, there won't be no walkers dying off/humans taking back control again, as im sure Kirkman wouldn't allow it he wants to keep this going as long as possible with new games/comics/tv series so won't give an ending like that away here.

i don't think TT will do anything completely out of left field also, a few flashbacks but nothing that makes your jaw drop,it will just be a end to clementines arc with maybe her death to act as a emotional send off.

  • and why should she die a horrible death because she is a villain? i dont know if you have ever thought about howmany survivors are villains.

Having black and white choices where being "bad" gives a bad end would be the worst in a game thats supposedly about choice, every choice should have a tradeoff and a reward

  • Smh I was just throwing ideas to the wind...my real opinion on this is to throw like 5 different episode 5's depending on our choices and one of them has clems death because why not? If clem isn't showing anywhere except the game she can die determinanly and live also(choose how your clementine's journey ends)

and why should she die a horrible death because she is a villain? i dont know if you have ever thought about howmany survivors are villains.

  • I never said she cant die, I just slightly disliked how you said that she would die a horrible death due to villainous actions, as I think she should also possibly be able to die from trusting the wrong people or letting the wrong people live.

Unless I misunderstood your post, in which case I apologize

  • I think they'll have her live at the end. I envy all of you who will play the games.

  • I guess I went to far in that case I just want to see one ending where clementine looses it if AJ dies that's all.

  • If anything, they should keep her alive but also give us a fake death like the one Javi had at the end of ANF.

  • Maybe have the Final Season end with a big dumb throw down between Clementine and (some opponent).
It would in like a burning barn or something and the fight would end with the floor/roof collapsing with both getting debris'd; AJ would have been taken to safety by an ally of Clementine by this point, if you're curious. Then, after the credits roll, you just get this image of the rubble the day after the fire and you just see someone silhouetted moving away from the wreckage, stopping with the camera shifting to focus on what could be Clementine's heavily damaged hat before the figure picks it up, and there's a slow fade to black as the ambiguous figure limps into the sunrise with the hat in what may be their "good" hand.
End of the game series, bitch.

  • I would like to see Clem fight. We haven't seen that yet.

  • No, we haven't and any chance/candidate that arose in the past either weren't likely to happen, never got to that point or were taken by other characters.

  • Actually, have we seen any females fight?

  • Uh, you wanna count Jane being pinned to a wall, straddling, and then askin if he likes it?

Unfortunately, no. Michelle, Becca, and Ava were never engaged in combat.

  • Oh yeah. There were few brief sneak attacks, weren't there?

  • True, that was a good one.

  • Uh... Michelle was just there to kill Omid, you know. So it doesn't really matter.

  • Could've made for a good personal encounter later in the game if she was still around, though.

  • Yes, when Clem bitch-slapped Sarah

  • You know, ya say that as an attempt at a joke, but I honestly half-suspected that a fight could determinately break out between those two going in.

    Yes, when Clem bitch-slapped Sarah

  • That's not a fight :/

    Yes, when Clem bitch-slapped Sarah

  • Not a fight.

  • If she dies, it's going to be for something. I can't see them killing Clementine off for shock value, although I have been wrong before...

  • Like taking revenge for BrOmid?

I guess seeing how she feels regret for what she did when we encounter her 16 months later would have been nice. And her reaction to Christa losing the baby.
I don't really hate her, tbh. Michelle never meant to kill Omid and showed regret.

Becca never engaged in a combat.

Becca headbutting a walker or an enemy is my aesthetic.

    Ava never engaged in combat.

The story was structured in a way that didn't let her. :(

  • well while a few endings would be cool, one where a clem dies and one where clem lives, it would under handle the powerful impact..if clem dies then I hope her death is s powerful as lee's and if she lives pls let be emotional.
