Who is the best fighter in Batman: The Enemy Within?

Some clarification first:

It is always hard to predict how different characters stand against each other since we have not seen them all engage in a fight. But I will be the first to start out and try to give some kind of rating and make some kind of list of what I think is the "best fighter", I will separate the ratings sometimes and see how their gadgets/weapons help them or not, for example... Bane has one rating when he is juiced up on his venom... and another one when he is not. Bruce Wayne got one rating and Batman has another and so on. I will only take this universe that Telltale has created into consideration... so what Freeze, for example, can do or has done in a movie or comic does not count, we are discussing The Enemy Within after all. (I don't count characters from season one that is not in season two like Harvey Dent, The Penguin, Lady Arkham and so on...)

And one last thing, this is what I think, and I know pretty much 100% of you will disagree and it is hard to separate some of the characters that's why I want to see your list also! I don't think there is to much right and wrong since this is mostly speculations :)

Let's start with the characters that I decided will not reach my top 10 in random order:
Alfred
Blake
Tiffany
Willy
Frank
Bullock
Montoya

10: Harrison: 3.8/10
Always hard to tell with the Agency but I would guess that Harrison is one of the tougher ones, he has been on the frontlines for the Agency and survived (until Bane... you know.) I would bet my money on Harrison in a fight between him and Blake/Montoya which are the closest to reach my top 10.

9: Eli Knable: 4.5/10
We did not see much of Eli, but he proved that he could handle himself at least for a short while and Batman even commends him at one point after the fight at the Batcave.

8: Jim Gordon: 5.2/10
A fan favorite by some and me... I would love to put him higher on the list but I can't. His aim is precise and his punches are not something you just laugh at.

7: Mr. Freeze: 5.8/10
Faster than you might expect and can take quite a beating, got his deadly right arm that will always help him in combat.

  1. Harley Quinn: 6.0/10
Deadly, vicious, and a bit crazy... her hammer and her Deagle is something you want to try to avoid.

  1. The Riddler: 6.9/10
Tricky, since he is not most famous for his combat skills but I would rate him slightly above Freeze and Harley he gave Batman quite the challenge at the Casino and the virus in him gives him an extra edge.

  1. Catwoman: 7.3/10 (Selina Kyle 6.1/10)
Agile, quick and starting to get quite used to combat by now... Slightly nerfed without her claws and whip.

  1. Joker: 7.5/10 Vigilante (Villain 7.2/10, John Doe 4.4/10)
I was really torn here about if I should rate the Villain or Vigilante higher but since he goes crazy either way at the end I would say that the Vigilante has quite the small edge thanks to a bit more gadgets.

  1. Batman: 8.7/10 (Bruce Wayne 7.1/10)
Well... it is Batman after all. Bruce is a bit tricky, sure he did beat Villain joker as himself but I would be careful about calling him a favorite in that fight in the future... I would say that both Joker and Catwoman with their gadgets beat Bruce.

  1. Bane: 9.1/10 (Non-venom Bane 8/10)
With his venom, I can't see anybody alone taking him on in a fight... in this universe, he has to be number one, so far.

Special thanks to @Pyro902 who helped me make this list! Send that guy some love, he deserves it! <3

Now, hit me up with your top 10! And if you have the time it would be great with some kind of explanation... but it is not required ;)

  • Upgraded Bane by far. Batman couldn´t beat that thing without resorting to extreme methods. But I am talking about Agency´s Bane. The normal one, was defeated by Bruce in SANCTUS, even with his venom and help from Freeze.

  • Awesome post, one can really see that you put a lot of work into it. Only thing wrong with it is that Frank isn't number 1 ;)

  • Yeah, it is always tricky... but I still want to favor venom Bane (especially when he got the upgraded venom from The Agency)

We have had some chances to see how Bruce/Batman stacks up against Bane:

    • We got the first fight in episode two where Bane won (used regular venom)

    • We have had one scene in episode 4 if you go to Sanctus as Bruce you get to face off Bane and if John would not have intervened it would have been over for Bruce, so I would say he won that as well.

    • The other scenario in episode 4 is when you go as Batman and defeats both Bane and Freeze, I would say that this is more of a "plot" win for Batman and we needed to defeat Bane to set him up for his role in episode 5. (Vigilante)

    • Then we got the first fight with Joker/Batman vs Bane in EP5 if it was not a two against one I would say that Bane would have won it.

    • GCPD rooftops fight scene is so messy since so many people are involved at the same time so it is hard to pinpoint but I would still favor Bane there as well... especially since he got his "improved venom" then also.

I think it is interesting how some of these characters stand against each other and I hope we will see most of them have some kind of role in a season three...

  • My top 10

    1. Bane
    2. Batman/Joker
    3. Catwoman
    4. Harley
    5. Freze
    6. Riddler
    7. Gordon
    8. Eli
    9. Frank
    10. And my boy Willy
  • Alfred should be 10th over Harrison.

  • It is definitely debatable, I decided to pick Harrison over Alfred and others since he is younger and part of the frontline of the Agency.

But it is really hard to predict who would win in a fight between them both... feels like a coin toss since we saw that Alfred can take care of himself in season one against Lady Arkham and the Children of Arkham when they attacked and kidnaped him at Wayne Manor.

  • I don´t think Batman won at SANCTUS because "plot". He just learnt his lesson and changed his way of facing Bane.

The first time, he didn´t know about the venom, so he tried to play agressive all the time, since he was the superior fighter up until that point. The second time, you can see how he tries to wear Bane down with the batarangs, using them to stab him until the drug effect dissappears. He doesn´t try to punch him or knock him out, he just keeps avoiding the attacks and causing small injuries, wich probably can make the drug dissapear faster. Then, when Bane is back to normal, he quickly goes offensive again and neutralizes him with Freezes technology.

The game doesn´t make it obvious because it happens so fast (and that´s a good thing), but I think Bruce was clearly doing that at that scene, trying to get Bane exhausted with quick attacks until the venom is gone.

  • I'd add another character to the list; moustache man who attacked and stabbed Bane in ep. "The Pact". Just think how BRAVE that guy was. He could hide or run but NO, he helped Batman, paid the highest price. Some training and moustache man could have been perfect Robin.

  • CHIP!

  • He was actually a former Marine, it says in a Gotham Newsfeed after that fight.

Bane is the best though. RIP Chip.

  • Does anyone know how this guy actually died, though? I never saw where his injuries came from, lol.

  • This is awesome man thanks for taking the time to put it together...I would MAYBE switch John and Selina, but it's a tough call

...I kinda wanna see that fight go down now

  • Thanks, I appreciate it :)

It is a tricky one as well... almost a 50/50 if they would go up 1 v 1... I decided to go for Joker this time since I believe he would be more ruthless than Catwoman would be.

Maybe we will see it in season three, who knows?

  • That's actually a really good interpretation of Batman's strategy. It may be risky with stabbing Bane to cause him to bleed out, but he had to weaken Bane somehow.

"If I can't wear the drug out, I'll just bleed it out of him instead"
--Proceeds to do so and then incapacitates him with Freeze's technology, ensuring Bane's adrenaline wears off to slow his blood flow.

That's how I picture it now, I guess.
