Would you rather play as Javi or AJ?

On the off chance Clementine does die/disappear (though this is probably unlikely), would you rather play as AJ or Javi in future WD games?

Javi. I don't want to play as a little kid.

  • I'd be down for either depending on the context, but honestly, neither within the conditions and/or existing precedent.

  • AJ cause i would want my character to be raised by a badass

  • Neither, but if I had to choose, AJ easily.

  • Javi. I really don't wanna play as AJ at all.

  • After Clem a rather play with e a new character

I think this season will be a good way to end the series but if it was to continue I think there is a lot more potential for a more unique and original story if it was to follow AJ rather than Javier.

Following the story of a character who was born after the world went to hell is a topic that isn’t explored as often as the story of a person who had the opportunity to experience the world prior to the outbreak.

One of the things that makes this series so great is because it follows the story of Clementine, an innocent little girl who was thrust into a hellish world and forced to swiftly and violently cross the threshold into adulthood almost instantly leaving her childhood and innocence behind just to stay alive. Likewise, AJ is also a very interesting character because he never got to have a childhood in the first place. The apocalypse is the only world he understands, the world before is like a myth to him. All he can do is walk through the scarred remains of a world that was once better and imagine what it used to be like.

If it followed AJ the series could go much further down the apocalypse timeline. Potentially to the point where everyone who was old enough to remember the pre-apocalypse is dead and all that remains are the people who were either born after the outbreak or they were born before but were too young to remember the old world. Pre-apocalypse weaponry and supplies would almost completely run out and humanity would start to readopt more “primeval” customs and strategies. People wielding weaponry such as bows and spears would become a much more common occurrence than people carrying guns.

Hell it would even be interesting to see how the language and culture continues to evolve as pre-apocalypse values, literacy, art, and culture becomes a distant memory. It would be interesting to watch a cast of people like AJ react to some of the pre-apocalypse customs and technology.

“What the hell, there was once working vehicles that allowed people to fly? There used to be people with the knowledge and resources to successfully treat, prevent, and sometimes cure hundreds of severe illnesses and injuries? WTF people used to attend these things called theme parks where they would strap themselves into carts that were designed to swiftly traverse an extravagantly decorated track just for the sake of entertainment?!”

It would also be cool if Clementine gave AJ her hat and you continue to see the hat suffer wear and tear until it eventually reaches the point where it is barely even a hat anymore.

Damn this ended up being a much longer post than originally intended. As I started to think about this topic I really got carried away.

  • both and more

  • I kinda like both characters, but if I have to choose, it would be Aj

  • AJ! Javi belongs in a Michael Bay film, aka ANF.

  • Definitely Aj. Fuck Javi, I’d rather not have ANF ptsd.

  • What about Michonne? Or a completely new character?

  • Javi. I want more Javi and Kate. Jate? lol

  • Michonne is busy in the comics. I'd be down for a whole new character though. They really should restart from the beginning with all new characters and a new location. Like, see what things were like for a plucky group of millennials in the suburbs of Chicago.

What about Michonne? Or a completely new character?

  • I would prefer a new character.

However, though I love Javi, I'd easily go with AJ
