To those saying ... [Marlon related spoilers]

To those saying Marlon should have been kept alive to be traded to the raiders,

Um... Are you all that naive? A group of raiders show up and they take two teenage girls. They aren't taking them to do chores... They wouldn't want any boys.

    Who said that?

Marlon talks about trading AJ as well.

  • Well I think that's mostly because AJ would be a nightmare without Clem.

  • The fact that they didn't take Marlon the first time around. Clearly they didn't know where the Marlon and the girls came from and rather than take all the kids they let Marlon go.

The sisters were traded off on an agreement with Marlon (and Brody knowing). Brody even went with them at the time.

The fact that they didn't take Marlon the first time around. Clearly they didn't know where the Marlon and the girls came from and rather than take all the kids they let Marlon go.

  • Or maybe Marlon told them to take Ten's sister away so they can leave him alone. I don't remember anyone saying Abel's group is only interested in little girls only.

The fact that they didn't take Marlon the first time around. Clearly they didn't know where the Marlon and the girls came from and rather than take all the kids they let Marlon go.

  • Aside from slaves (sex slaves, even), I really don't see any reason any group would bargain for anyone. Cannibals, maybe? But if that were the case, why not take all the kids present if they're just gonna eat them? The only thing that makes sense is sex slaves, and the fact that they didn't take Marlon too tells me they have no interest in dingles.

Maybe it is something else entirely, but I won't believe it until I see it. It's a fair point that they didn't take Brody, too, but maybe she would have put up too much of a fight so they didn't bother with her.

  • or they are just bad people and dont really...care.

If you're implying that the bandits intend to rape their captives, and would only want girls for that reason, it's perpetuating a dangerous stereotype. It's not about sex, or sexual orientation. Very few men/boys ever report the crime, and even then it's often only in cases of severe injury. Sadly, there are extremely limited resources and support for male victims. These incidents are frequent cases in prison systems, and war time.

  • Sounds like they wanted to take everyone there anyway, but Marlon cut em a deal.

  • Ch'yeah, pretty much.

I'm not saying it's wrong, but that's a really odd sentence to utter.

  • Older, feistier. I get the feeling her and Marlon were a thing of some sort and he probably wouldn't allow it so rather than break out into a fight where the kids most likely all die and are useless, along with some of their own people, the raiders settled for the two younger girls.

That would've been my thought too.
