Damn it look like I'm not getting pragmatic though I'll try letting him sleep under the bed. But I'm not going to upset violet or temm because he's a dick about the toy and I like Violet
I really hope this helps you guys out. This is how to get each feeling for each character.
AJ-
To get “Pragmatic” you just have to let A… moreJ do what he wants. A.K.A.
Kill the walkers in the train station
Let him curse
Let him sleep under the bed for the first night
Let him keep the art supplies instead of giving them to Tenn
Let AJ play with Tenn’s toy
Attack Abel in at the train station
I believe the way to get “Hardened” is to do 1-2 things different from the “Pragmatic” line, and to get “Ruthless” you have to do 3+ things different.
There are different ways to get “Hardened”, but here’s how I did it.
Kill the walkers at the train station
Let him curse
Let him sleep under the bed for the night
Give the art supplies to Tenn
Give Tenn’s toy back to him
Attack Abel in the train station
The first run I did, I made him “Ruthless” this is how I did it.

Violet-Guilty
AJ- Pragmatic
Louis-Heartbroken
Tenn-Bitter
The other two are dead. Though I think there maybe a way to save Marlon. I h… moreaven't tried it so someone correct me if I'm wrong. Okay first tell AJ to save the last bullet for himself, he only has 2 I think. Then tell him to shoot that raider guy. At the end he should only have 1 more bullet when facing Marlon.
So I'm thinking he won't shoot him. I was thinking about this. I want to try it. But if someone has already tried this senerio let me know
Tldr; AJ depends on how you told him to handle the gun at the beginning of the episode, not the "important" choices of the episode.
Violet - Guilty
Louis - Heartbroken
Tenn - Powerless
AJ - Pragmatic
VioletandClementine might be right about most of that actually. Except AJ. I let him curse, sleep under the bed, attacked Abel, gave everything to the kids whenever AJ wanted to take their shit, paid respects at the grave, etc. For episode 1 relationships, important choices seem to not matter yet. I don't see a correlation with what this user said. As speculated, it is probably the small dialogue options that affect relationships.
I think AJ's feeling depends on whether you told him to never hesitate, aim for the head, or save one bullet for himself. Never hesitate is pragmatic. I think aim for the head is hardened and save one bullet is ruthless. Let me know if that's what you guys did and got.
For Tenn, I got powerless by staying silent during that choice. Apparently as of right now only 5% of players got that.
I took every straightforward and/or kind answer with the kids. Told the truth during the card game. Went fishing with Violet. Had the Rosie lick my hand.
I really hope this helps you guys out. This is how to get each feeling for each character.

I got Pragmatic the second time round, and the only thing I changed was forgiving Marlon (kind of), rather than calling him pathetic, which is the playthrough where AJ was ruthless.

I think AJ will probably be better off as “Hardened” anyway.
Anything but ruthless.
I got Pragmatic even tho I only attacked Abel out of those options. Everything else I did the opposite.
Wow that might actually work

No it doesn't. Asking Aj to shoot Abel results in a insta-death. Marlon will always die no matter what.
Violet: Guilty
Louis: Heartbroken
Tenn: Bitter
AJ: Hardened
I also got powerless for Tenn by remaining silent.
I told him to sleep on the bed, and attacked Abel at the train station, and made him be nice to people, yet on the first playthrough he was Ruthless.
Same, except I got Pragmatic

I didn't forgive him, I fought him down and told him that he was going to the basement
AJ: Ruthless
Louis: Lost
Tenn: Resentful
Violet: Horrified
I dont get how AJ is decided, everyone else is pretty cut and dry but I dont get what impacts him
I think it’s if you tell him
Save last bullet for yourself = Ruthless
Aim for the head = Hardened
Never hesitate = Pragmatic
But I could be wrong
Louis: Heartbroken
Marlon: Dead
Brody: Dead
Tenn: Bitter
Violet: Guilty
AJ: Hardened
Choices:
-Killed Couple
-Hunting
-Bed
-Surrendered
-Violet
Looks like everyone ended up worse, lol. Louis needs to work on his pick-up lines.
AJ: Hardened
Louis: Lost
Violet: Horrified
Tenn: Bitter
hello, twin
AJ: Pragmatic
Louis: Lost
Violet:Horrified
Tenn: Bitter
Marlon & Brody: DED
