Save the last bullet for yourself
I'm not sure what that means or why Clem would tell AJ that. Maybe to avoid becoming a walker or something?

It means if you get bit, you make sure you have a bullet to kill yourself before becoming a walker. Like Lee, Chuck and Pete did back in S1&SS2.
Yeah, in case you get bit; save the last bullet for yourself.
Yes you're right. Although morbid but the last shot is to avoid becoming a walker.
Or if you're in a no win scenario and definitely going to get eaten alive. That'd be a horrible way to go.
Not that it matters because your point is taken...but Pete didn’t shoot himself. Clem notes when they find his body that he didn’t have a gun on him (implying Carvers group did it).
I chose that option to teach AJ simply because it was in the trailer. Canon and all that.
Well I hope I don't see it happen.gulp
Yeah, like everyone else said, its because if in a situation where you can't escape, you're bit, etc. You save that last bullet so you can shoot yourself instead of getting eaten alive/becoming a walker. It reminds me of what Kenny does for Ben in S1. Albeit he didn't save the last bullet for himself, he saved it for Ben who wasn't bitten but was a goner anyway, saving him from the horror of being eaten alive. So basically that's why- you use it for yourself if you're in a situation where you can't escape or bitten.
It's a last worst case scenario of sparing yourself the horrible pain of being torn apart and eaten alive in favor of a quick painless death. Ask your boy Chuck.
I did that too, although I feel like it would be better at the end if AJ says "What? I aimed for the head" lol
I picked "Aim for the head" and then instantly regretted it but kept playing...
So, I spent all game wondering how that was going to screw things up. When Abel was bargaining and AJ pulled his gun out I was freaking out like, "DON'T CHEKOV'S GUN ME, WE'RE SURROUNDED BY ZOMBIES!"
Then Marlon had a gun drawn on me and I was like, "CRAP! AJ, WHY DIDN'T YOU SHOOT ABEL! I TAKE THAT BACK!"
Then Marlon gave up and dropped the gun and I said, "Crap... I was hoping this douchebag would kill himself. I'm tired of being nice to monsters..."
Then AJ blows Marlon's brains out, I was staring dumbfounded and silent and then, out of nowhere, "What? I aimed for the head!"
And then I actually, honestly fell out of my chair laughing so hard.
I thought the "always save the last bullet for yourself" option was a bit odd since, before finding those two bullets, AJ obviously hadn't saved a bullet for himself, so like, how often exactly is Clementine giving him this advice (since this is supposedly something she says to him often), and then how often has he ignored it?
The trailer wasn’t canon though so you could have picked whatever
Pretty sure Potarts said it was canon.
Other than saying it wasn’t in the final game, I’m sure they a,so said it was non-canon because they needed it to show off the engine
In the scenario you describe, I think it’s bad advice to give a child. I mean...how many times have we seen characters (both in the game and tv series) face a near impossible situation yet survive somehow? Rick almost shoots himself when surrounded by walkers in Atlanta...but then he sees a way into an armored tank. Kenny and Glenn make it out of walker infested alleyways with seemingly no exit.
So I’m just saying...better to teach him not to give up hope too quickly. Don’t panic, explore all options!
...
I feel it's a bad thing to teach a child simply because suicide is a horrible thing to do, as demonstrated by Jane and Katja. In a world like this, it is inherently a selfish act, and should only be considered if you are bitten.
I'm not sure a six year old is developed enough the understand the nuance between suicide and preventing a painful death, so I feel it isn't a healthy or practical thing to teach them.
I also thought it would be obvious that you should only "always" aim for the head if they are a walker, I feel by not mentioning that, Clem made a huge oversight, since people are by their nature someone you want to hold more restraint towards killing.
