Its the final season with Clem not the series as a whole. They already confirmed this is the end of Clem’s arc
1-they did not decide when to start a new season and it's definitely not in 2019 because they are going to work on the wolf amongst us season 2
2- because there were 5 endings in season 2, and they could not do five different stories
3-because they think that 4 episode is enough to the story and because the made the length of the episode 2 and a half hours
They also have not said they plan to make another without Clem. Calling it the final season, and then just making another Walking Dead game doesnt make the most sense, especially considering "A New Frontier" is still considered season 3 of this series.
GOT season 2 will be out after the show ends (the final season of the show will be on tv 2019) so the GOT season 2 will be out 2020
If this is the end of Clems journey, i don't think i want another season of TWD. I want it to end and to immortalise Clem as the main star, never to be outshined by some future character for the sake of it.

If they do another one...it will be a few years. I would prefer to see GoTS2 The Awesome Adventures of Bugby and then an original IP. They are doing Stranger Things then Wolf. I do not want to see them pile a lot of games all at once....that hurt them. Also Zombies are getting stale. I admire completely what they did with episode 1 and it gives me hope that the entire season will be awesome. Still holding out hope for a Batman season 3.
Considering S9 of TWD show is the final season, I think it is only appropriate that the game ends too.

@bobshaw according to Chandler Rigg's father, they're planning to wrap up around S10. FTWD is going to become the main stay original series that doesn't use any comic material at all, eventually. The jury is still out on what they plan to do with Morgan.
@Poogers555 their relationship with Skybound Entertainment is still ongoing & as long as TWD is bringing in $$$$, don't think Gimple can't suggest a new entry. Especially after this travesty from Overkill drops on 11/6.

Kirkman has high hopes for Overkill's entry more than he seems to let on for Telltale's entries. This is aside from the fact Overkill's TWD already is receiving poor reception & is called a cheap Left 4 Dead 2 rip-off.

Chances are they'll be knocking back on Telltale's door sooner than we think. If Telltale won't take it on, another studio certainly will.

I think they might do a spinoff series but its not very likely to heppen. This is the final sseason of the main story. If there is another Season, it'll have no returning characters.
Although I was one of the people saying [spoiler] Kate dies at the end of episode 4 so anything can happen really.
I’m going to miss Clementine once her story arc is over.?
I love The Walking Dead & these last 6 years have been an absolute pleasure to experience (more than once thanks to them being released on the Xbox One separately & then in the Collection), but while I would play another WD Game, i’d be happy them take a break from the series and leave us wanting more.
If this truly is the Final Season, I completely understand, and am grateful for the memories, but if it’s just Clem’s Final Season, and they’re planning to make more, especially with the Unity Engine, then as mentioned, take a break for a few years & focus on their other stuff like TWAU Season Two, Stranger Things, and whatever else they have in the pipeline.
I’d love a Telltale Star Wars. Have wanted one for a while.
