Something just occurred to me... S4E1 ending spoilers

Why were Marlon and Brody arguing in the dorm basement? It was the middle of the night and it seems like all the kids sleep in the dorm (don't they?). Wouldn't it have been better for them to be having their argument in the office of the main building, where no kids would be around to hear it? Seems like the whole thing could have been avoided if Marlon had been smarter about where he had that argument with Brody.

  • They didn't want anyone potentially walking in on them in the school and assumed no one would be able hear them in the basement.
Of course, they were pressed to argue over how to respond to the raiders being back to consider that their voices might travel through the pipes.

  • But like, if everyone is asleep in the dorm, why would they think anyone would walk in on them at all in an entirely different building?

Or they could have just whispered, like normal people that are trying to keep secrets.

My guess is they went down there and started out quiet, emotions got the upper hand and things got loud.

Plus, the lack of exploration of the school left me a bit confused as to how it is collectively laid out.

  • Because the plot demanded it
