Perhaps to just have younger additions to supplement older members of the group or any number of possible reasons. There's a lot of other possibilities other than this weird sex slave theory everyone seems to be believing.
And like Clementine mentioned there aren't a lot of people left, and having more able bodied members who are younger would be an asset to a most likely older group as shown by Abel if in fact he is part of the group.
i thought that too! maybe (i don't want to think this but may be true) they wanted them because they're cannibalistic.? I hope not
I also don't think they took them because they wanted soldiers or hunters cus then they would've took boys (in my opinion)

The Australian classification classifies episode 2 with a moderate sexual impact. I’ve noticed that there are a lot of people who think that this means that there will be a Clementine sex scene, but honestly I think it has more to do with what happened or what is happening to the twins.
Then the rating would have been much higher.

The raiders are Russell's original group. Their leader had some magic number bullshit going on. Maybe they lost two members and needed two new ones to get back to 7 (or was it 9, I don't remember).
Heck, they might have even picked up Lilly after they lost Russell.

It doesn't have to be a sex slave thing. Everyone has kind of attached themselves to that theory. But groups would likely want to expand if people are getting older, or as they lose people to walkers or just perhaps natural causes.
Like the first commenter said, there are very few people left in the world at this point. Teenagers are likely some of the more able-bodied as the adults are getting older, and I don't think people have the "privilege," of caring about the gender of someone when they want labourers in the game because of how little people there are left.
I guess we'll eventually find out, right.

Then why would they take two girls ? And not one boy one girl, or two boys. The coincidence seems pretty high.

I dunno, probably for the same reason why they didn't kill them all and take the girls, maybe they want to use their little community.

We don't know that yet. And it could be a possible theory. But Marlon did mention he staged a rescue but was too afraid so I dont think they were given to be sex slaves

To people who are saying the ‘sexual impact’ Australian rating would be higher if this theory was real are wrong. If the game just alludes to rape then ‘moderate impact’ is the right rating, Starved for help alluded to rape and had the same rating in the ‘sexual impact’ category.
I said that they can't afford to be nit-picky about the gender they get, because of how little people there are left. You could easily rape a boy as much as you could a girl.
So we don't know if they are sex slavers. It doesn't have to be a sex slave thing. But we'll find out eventually I'm sure.

What you say doesn't make sense, they can't afford to be picky ? Well they can since they found girls, and a heterosexual man will take a girl over a man any time. And you know when it's the apocalypse some people would be into some pretty kinky stuff, so I would actually be surprised if they weren't sex slaves.

In theory, perhaps, but it would be unusual for Telltale to make a big deal about this without any payoff.

If they wanted to rape them, they would've done it there. Taking them in had to have a purpose. If they try to build a stable community and are interested in filling the world with people again - like Carver planned before he got crowbared - they might just want to reproduce. Hell, maybe they aren't even raiders, we don't know much.
The raiders might be interested in reproducing, thus why they would take Sophie and Minnie and why they would want Clementine. AJ is pretty much Clem’s kid so he would add to the population of the group and he would come with Clem because they’re a package deal in Marlon’s eyes.
Brody might have avoided being taken because she was closer with Marlon and he wanted to save her. The raiders might not have seen Brody when the deal took place because Marlon told her to hide.
