BIBLE pages... Season 4 symbolism SPOILERS
Clementine is VERY keen to what exact type of paper left at the scene was smoked .
Are the raiders a Christian cult that employ child labor?
Is the raiders base of operation a run-down church?
Abel obviously has a constant supply of bibles to smoke at his disposal.
. It's absurdly specific.
Also connects the religious theme with the Tenn drawing scene.
Wild speculation here.

Well, his name is Abel, that's another bible connection right there.
Isn´t In the beginning there was the Word some phrase from the bible?
Only fair that at the end the Word gets smoked.
Suffer the Children is in the Bible
Which basically confirms my suspicions there's something very religious related going to happen.
Also the name of of this novel.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suffer_the_Children_(novel)
The novel follows the story of a child abductor, who after murdering a young girl one hundred years earlier, returns and begins taking out more children one by one.
Maybe that's all they could use for cigarettes at the moment.
Whoa! It's all connected! That's a nice theory right there, smart cookie this one.
I thought he was smoking Bible pages because he just doesn't give a damn, but I do have suspicions that it goes deeper.
If you are a smoker in the apocalypse its likely that you use anything for a smoke...so if he lives in a church there are some hundred bibles to use
I was fairly certain the point of Abel smoking Bible pages is suppose to show that he gave up on his faith or whatever. His name is Abel which is a Christian name, so I'm assuming showing him ripping up pages of a bible just so he can smoke is to symbolize that.
Also that whole suffer the children thing is 100% more of a reference to that novel as its about kids being taken. The part of the bible is more about entering heaven.
