  • I still think we should wait for an official statement by Pete instead of taking the word of some jackass on Twitter.

  • Oh please, they have 25 employees still.

  • Still on the main page of TellTale site there's TFS promo that is dwarfing everything else on the main page itself. Why not removing it if they know that the whole season isn't going to be finished? Promoting something that they cant deliver entirely could be a bit dangerous for them right?

  • Not released yet, so no, we are not halfway done. Even though it will be released.

Plus, Episode 1 was roughly 2 and a half hours. I am going to assume episode 2 is as well. If all the episodes were/are going to be around that length, then we are only at the half way mark.

Lolwut, 2 out of 4 is halfway done Not to mention the fact that they already know the story for the entire season

  • Yup it is fake news someone is spreading right now.

  • Nah, that's denial. The Walking Dead team has been let go. There are no members of the development team for TWD left to finish it. I understand trying to be optimistic, but you're just setting yourself up for greater disappointment down the road. It's over after episode 2, and it's not reasonable to deny it.

You can still request refunds on Steam and there's a good chance they'll approve.

Not in denial, I'm focusing on facts. Fact is that they said they're keeping a crew on to finish up their obligations. TFS is one of their

  • Sure, but think about it. If TFS was going to be continuing on they could easily have said so in one of the statements they've already made.

"and don't worry, The Final Season will still be finished as promised."

Even if they have to extend the release times a bit.

"and don't worry, The Final Season will still be finished, but the reduction in staff means it's going to take a bit longer. We'll update you with a revised episode release schedule in the coming weeks."

That's literally all it would take if they weren't canceling TFS. The fact that they've not taken that simple step implies the season is getting cancelled and they're waiting until they figure out if they can legally keep the preorder money before they announce it.

  • Also another beacon of hope, TTG's statement said they will be fulfilling its obligations to its board and partners.

Skybound, who helps them with TWD, is a partner.

  • Yup... And there are different licenses (Telltale does have some scant IP) and loose ends to close up when a company closes down. We already know the Minecraft spiel is continuing, and 25 people logistically is not enough to finish out a season of TWD, even for just two episodes.

You need to pay attention to wording. The statement said they were gonna continue to work on obligations to board and partners. They said no

  • Is there some kind of online equivalent of a telethon that could be done?

  • Bingo. Absolutely correct.

The only part I will argue about is the final paragraph. I don't think they're trying to "steal" the money. I think they are trying to fulfill their obligation to finish the series. So they won't announce the cancellation until it is official, but until then they will try to get their game/story picked up by another company to finish the story.

Sure, but think about it. If TFS was going to be continuing on they could easily have said so in one of the statements they've already made.

  • Yet you keep saying that until the CEO gives a official statement first. I am hopeful right now to see The Final Season finishing.

  • can we donate?

  • This seems like fake news to me. It needs to get wrapped up or people who paid for it legally deserve a refund or partial refund. And I'm not gonna jump on board until we get an official statement from Telltale themselves. I don't believe this. I believe the episodes are already done too. Just needs polishing. If they don't release the episodes then they have to deal with refunds, I don't buy it. I believe this man's sources are mistaken.

  • oh, I wish I could say yes...

  • Are you sure. I mean I saw it too,but the CEO decides if The Final Season is cancelled or not. So I don't think I will believe anything until then.

  • Keeping the money goes toward fulfilling their obligation to their board, which is to make as much money as possible. If they can avoid giving refunds, that's essentially that much more income they've delivered to the board.

  • Telltale's CEO may not be allowed to state it is cancelled due to creditors ...after all they will have to pay things off and so they cannot legally say what is going on.

  • Telltale can hire me. I would write the rest of the episodes for free (I already like to write a lot of stuff for free, so... haha)

  • Christ reading Mary's post is like going to a hospital waiting for a loved one to die.
