  • Do you mean as flashbacks?

Hershel was always one of the best characters :(

  • Season 9? Damn, I knew telltale got saved. I didn't know they made 5 more seasons of content in 2 weeks. Fuck yeah Skybound. Keep up that energy. lol.

Jk I know you mean the TV show. Just trying to lighten the mood. Was he the same VA that did Hershel in the game?

    R.I.P Scott Wilson

  • Nope, Hershel's in-game char was completely different.

  • Speaking of, I wonder why TellTale didn't get the tv actors to voice their counterpart roles in the games.

Hershel, Glenn, Jesus... anyone else? I'm guessing the voice actors cost less.

  • Tbf, I think Brandon Keener is a better Jesus, but then I'm biased!

I think Glenn, Hershel, Jesus and Michonne are the only 4 from the comics/show...

  • Oh, right, the Michonne series. I forgot about that one.

I guess you're a fan of calibrations, huh?

  • I think Kirkman stated once that he wants to avoid any connection between the TV universe and the game/comic universe so he didn’t allow any of the TV actors to voice their characters.

  • Aren't we all, my friend ?

  • I know right? I love the TV voices for Hershel, Glenn and Jesus. Especially Jesus. I hate his ANF voice.

  • Rest In Peace Scott.

  • I like Glenn's VA in game better, same with Hershel , Hershel is hard to like because he's so stuck in his ways and that preaching he's always doing , but regardless ... Rip boi ?

  • Crushing news that.

  • Because these are not the same characters from the show.

    TV show =/= Comic
    TV Show =/= Games
    Comic = Games

  • Yes I know this. The shows are basically an alternate universe where things happened more or less the same, but the details are a bit different (though as time went on the show has wildly diverged from the comic). Still, even in alternate universe I'd think the characters would sound the same regardless of which universe they're in. Kirkman even said when writing new issues he can't help but hear Andrew Lincoln's voice as he writes Rick's lines.

  • Rest in peace Scott Wilson. There will never be anyone like him ever again.

On an unrelated note: Bill Willingham (writer of the Fables comics that TWAU is a prequel to) said that he could never find the right voice for Bigby Wolf, until he heard Adam Harrington voice him. He now considers Adam's voice work to be Bigby's true voice :P

  • Ah, Telltale. Good stuff.
