Nah, he deserved to die.
Marlon did several things wrong. With what information we have, all I can say is he was probably in the right to accept the deal. Everything he did after that was wrong, though. No attempt to find and rescue them. Lying to the other kids about what happened. Killing Brody (albeit accidentally). Trying to kill Clem with Brody. Blaming Brody's death on Clem.
Let me explain to you kids who are saying... "Marlon did nothing fucking wrong." Alright everyone let this mastermind explain. Marlon was planning to give up everyone to the riders in exchange for safety for himself the same way he did to "sophie" and "minerva" k bye
Asides killing Brody. Marlon knew what the Delta group was capable of. If Clem, knew that Lily's group is heavily armed, had cattle, and tactical. Her plan should've been to relocate and used the school as a decoy like they did in the show with the prison or abandon the school. Lily's group went easy on boarding school. Lily's group can easily overrun the school and killed Clem and everyone else.
Imagine the treatment that lily gives Marlon if she is winning to gun down and beat Clem?
Marlon was speaking out of anger. That sentence doesn't count. Kenny threaten Clem before over the Sarita choice.
No, Brody confesses that Marlon's big scheme was to give Clem and AJ to the raiders when they return. Can't believe you would even compare Kenny getting upset when Sarita died to Marlon who was a cowardly little shit who was basically trafficking children to raiders. Unbelievable.
...
Let's see what he'd done:
1. Trading off Sophie and Minnie (maybe he was justified but we don't really know the exact situation)
2. Lying to his friends and keeping them in the dark for a whole year because of his cowardice. Wrong
3. Killing Brody in a fit of anger. Wrong
4. Trying to kill Clem by locking her in the basement with zombified Brody. Wrong
5. Framing Clem for Brody's death. Wrong
6. Trying to kill Clem directly. Wrong
7. Intending to deal with the raiders again. Wrong
He may be just a kid, but what he did was fucked up and definitely wrong.
In retrospect I really think Marlon Was just desperate I mean yeah too much on his shoulders he didn’t know what else to do..He was just a scared little boy.
Marlon and AJ are both shitheads.
REEEEEEEEE
Marlon did a ton wrong, but he didn't deserve to die.
He isn't innocent but AJ killing Marlon like that was so unjustified.
He has done many wrong things even though he didnt have bad intentions. Still, he didnt deserve to be gunned by that stupid kiddo.
Oh shit waddup?
Hey buddy. I'm cool, how are ya doin?
He felt "guilty" for letting the twins get taken but was ready to give Clem away ?Incher sting
This thread is a joke: Marlon has done NOTHING wrong. Are you fucking kidding me?!!
I'm all good thx.
That's good to hear.
We have to think about it. The better question is what rules we will have - who first gets banned loses?
The dude sold 2 girls to murderous war mongering bandits, lied about it, verbally and physically ABUSED Brody probably for years which is why she was so scared. And to top it all off her kills her to silence her and then blames her death on Clementine, hold Clem at gunpoint and tries getting the group to kill or side with killing Clementine.
He's a piece of shit.
I feel like this is how I sound to people when I stan kenny
Marlon gave away 2 of his friends in exchange for safety and what these people were doing was brainwashing kids and turning them into soldiers. He and Brody then lied to everyone saying that they were killed by walkers, they all believed this for a year and was in a depressive state, especially Violet.
Then once Brody couldn't handel it anymore and decides to tell the truth, his way to silence her is to hit her hard enough in a fit of rage, which yes, Marlon's intention wasn't to kill her and he probably didn't know how strong he was but it was to hurt her. I'm not gonna jump to conclusions that he abused her for a year and we'll probably never know what it was really like between them too but it could indicate that he's done this to her before. As well as before that, he said that if the delta was to ever come back he'd send off Clem and AJ.
Then once Brody is dead, he knows she's going to turn so instead of putting her out what does he do? Runs off and locks Clem in the basement with her so he can pin her death on Clem instead and if you fuck up during the confrontation he can kill her, mind it's not a canon death but still he had the intention of killing her.
While in my main save file and my alt save file I avoided kicking him out the group, however his death never bothered me because I knew Marlon's death happened for a 2 reasons:
1.While he's not a monster he still has done plenty of shitty things, it's the apocalypse who hasn't, but it's supposed to tell you Marlon is actually a coward. He was a young kid forced into this role for a world he was never cut out for.
2. You should never take what you have Clem teach AJ so lightly and that AJ can and will kill.
Off course he's going to give Clem away, she is a stranger and he should put his people first. Clem's plan to fight off the Raiders and try to rescue the twins is a suicide mission that may end in Clem's and the groups death. I would count their losses and move away from the boarding school to Howes.

Marlon killing Brody has been his biggest mistake, but he gives away the twins for the safety of the group. And yes, I know that he says " I would've done it again." something like that, but a man is bound to say anything when angered.
Brody doesn't fear Marlon. And Marlon has not been abusing her for years. She pushes Marlon to the ground out of frustration earlier in that episode.
And doesn't even talk about the fact that Brody knows about the twins, too. How come she doesn't have any obligation to tell the group? The twins secret is both Marlon's and Brody's secret not just Marlon's.
Clem's plan to save the Twin's will most likely lead to her and the group's death.
As an added point, if you fail to convince anyone to stand up for you, Marlon smiles before shooting Clem in the head while AJ watches.
Hmm, let's see ...
1. he made a deal with raiders without even asking the group about their opinions
2. gave away two of his friends in exchange for safety, which was foolish anyway, because there was no way that you could be sure the raiders won't come back.
3. was too much of a coward to tell the group afterwards and organize a rescue
4. killed Brody
5. he locked Clementine in the fckin basement with walker Brody
6. tried to make the others believe that Clementine murdered her
7. was gladly ready to shoot her (I mean, he was even smilling!)
So absolutely, he didn't do anything wrong at all
Marlon did the best he could while minimizing casualties. He was wrong for killing Brody and lying to the group, but he was correct in accepting the deal with Delta.
We saw firsthand what Delta did against 2 weeks of preparation which left the community destroyed in flames and half of them gone and one dead. Had Marlon refused the agreement, Delta would have just taken out the entire school and took everyone. Marlon should have been fully honest with the group about their deal with Delta which would have prevented several long term problems.
Yeah, no. You can't be in the right by giving up crew members. Don't care if he explained it to the entire group, and then they all decided. That is wrong.
Unless he's giving himself up, he has to fight. Sure the entire group could've been killed, but it would've been the right thing to do.
Or set-up a compromise. The Delta needs people, he should've set a deal where Abel could take everyone. He had leverage, could've asked not to be seperated, a good deal on food. But he's super weak, and selfish.
He didn't deserve to die; but being a coward is never 'justified'.
I agree with you. He should've said something to the others, but yeah, he traded those girls to save everyone else.
Are you implying that they should've formed a union?
I guess. I just mean that Marlon shouldn't have made the decision he did. Because he didn't have to. He was obviously afraid of what would happen at the Delta, so instead of thinking clearly, and making the best decision for the group, he was scarred and sacrificed someone else.
