Who should become the new "series leader" after Lincoln leaves the show?
I highly doubt that we will have a Game of Thrones situation in which there isn't any clear main character in the show so who will step up? Daryl? Michonne? Carol? Is there any real person that will keep this show alive? I doubt that...

Knowing AMC and how much money and merchandise this character gets them, they’ll choose Daryl to lead the show, which is a terrible decision. I like him, but he’s not main character material. He doesn’t have that spark Lincoln had. If I had to choose, I’d go for Michonne.
Of the existing characters, Maggie. But since she’s leaving too, Michonne. While as a character I doubt she could carry it without some serious reworks, the actress has more than enough charisma.
In my opinion they should do a soft reboot and have a new character take over and become the lead, maybe Magna from the comics. While she does absolutely jackshit in the comics themselves, she has tons of potential and it wouldn’t be hard to repurpose her character to effectively lead the show going forward. Provided that the actress has enough charisma, of course.
Carol and Daryl have so many issues, I love them but they are not leader quality...Michonne could...but like @KingInTheNorth13 says...she needs a rework...which I guess she could receive due to losing Rick. Judith and Michonne could be the new Rick and Carl...I have to say..I will miss Rick....loving this season though.
Why not Aaron? He is Rick from the comics now
They can't just put a second plan character to lead this show...

They already said that no one will replace Rick,so they're probably gonna focus on Michonne,Negan,Daryl and the other characters.
I thought it was already well known AMC already settled on Daryl, giving Reedus a fat raise to compensate for the show focusing more on him going forward.
They should show the some respect and close the show. Its badically on life support now.
Mate, I thought it was already well known Reedus said he didn't get a 'fat raise' and he isn't leading, rather everyone is stepping up to the plate and it will be a 'Game of thrones' situation as Angela Kang said. But, I think Michonne will be the 'leader' since she's closest to Rick and Judith.
Oh is that the case? I guess what I heard was someone spouting rumor as fact. I haven't really been keeping up. Not even watching this season.

I was hoping Negan would step in and actually be a benevolent leader after actually seeing what Rick was trying to accomplish, as well to honour Carl’s memory.
