Yeah, admittedly I haven't check the Reddit comment's date.
EDIT: That post was when ANF was wrapping up. @RavenSnowstorm and @BetterToSleep were going on about Capricorn Farms a good while before ANF actually premiered.
Season 3,definitely.
I still can't understand why they cut the slaughterhouse,i just don't fucking get it.
they even had a "next time"… more segment for S3 EP2 with the slaughterhouse in it.
And about season 2..Honestly i don't really care, most people wanted a "darker" story but i thought season 2 was already pretty fucking dark.
Cause it stopped making sense for the characters to even go to it.
Believe me, I tried.

Uh...what?

Well Clem and Javier were supposed to go ther… moree to find their family or some shit.
Uh...what?
Yep,someone datamined ANF and found that years later, there's a lot of shit they cut that you can still find it's a mess.
wait doesnt this mean they could have easily made the s2 endings matter slightly with that? Since the objective was to rescue AJ and Mariana they could have just added different flashbacks which had the S2 survivor be kidnapped as well if you dint go alone. ((Also how many times was Mariana changed during development? Cause i heard she was hector s daughter at some point, then she s javi s sister and she ended up being David s daughter.))
Original anf story:
Before Michonne and S3 started development
-The original story of the "miniseries" was "Javier"'s introduction(most … morelikely wasn't his name at the time), the plot was about escaping his captors, sneaking around abandoned factories and sewers. This got scrapped to hell and they made Michonne instead, absolutely nothing of this bled into the development of S3 so don't even take this one seriously.
Original S3
-Super dark story, played more as an actual TWD story that expanded the TWD universe. Instead it got rewritten into this family bullshit.
-The Clem and Javier relationship already started as friends on equal levels, they still butted heads when figuring out ways how to deal with shit, there was none of this "Clem is distrustful" bullshit. Clem acted more as a "mentor" to Javier.
-The villain was a Carver-like villain
-"The New Frontier" were actually called "The Marauders", the little I know about thei… [view original content]
I imagine that, if it's true, the sister idea came first, then she became Gabe's cousin through the bulk of development as they started to properly figure out Javier's character and finally, they made her Gabe's sister out of convenience as the premiere's story was being finalized.

I don't understand all this slaugherhouse talk. It's honestly nothing to want, there's nothing interesting about it and the supposed story surrounding it is poor. It's just terrible in general, calm your horses. What ya'll should really want is the E3 2016 ANF graphics. That looked so much better, I don't know why they had to mess it up.

The original premise for "Season 3" was definitely sounding like a super Darker and Edgier reboot in a Last of Us country massacre way, what with the brandings and slavery and ...multiple fuckin Slaughterhouses filled with Walkers for some reason. Not to mention the war concept art, talks of a revenge story, and of course, that adrenaline makeover.

I'm telling you, even if the slaughterhouse made it to the final game, we'd only see it for like 10 minutes tops. I guarantee it.
Everything about it just screams "cool looking throwaway location we'd visit for ~2 scenes" to me.
and I think I heard the "bummer dad" thing before, but I forget where.
Never heard about the maggot infested rabbit corpse.
And the idea of Carver outliving his daughter could be interesting, but ultimately might be too much of a retread of Kenny in s1. (why do these two keep getting compared somehow)
The general outlines and initial concepts include
* The general premise followed Clementine experiencing the apocalypse unshielded and … morelearning how to survive in a group of other survivors
* Omid's fate were the same, but were going to be revealed through flashback.
* "Ralph," the big black member of the North Carolina Scavengers, was originally supposed to get shot across the left side of his face when Clementine and/or Christa buy each other time to escape, damaging his ear.
* Winston was supposed to become gradually aggravated with Clementine during the chase, escalating to a point where he would have Gored her into the river and be swept away alongside her.
* Clementine would have woken up on the shore without her hat and could've attempted to get the nearby boat mobile. The trail would have also featured an alternate path where she would have slipped down a hill.
* Sam would have taken Clementine's hat while she was unconscious… [view original content]

It comes from the Stream Telltale did in the buildup towards ANF's premiere.
Never heard about the maggot infested rabbit corpse.
It's at 10:50.
And the idea of Carver outliving his daughter could be interesting, but ultimately might be too much of a retread of Kenny in s1.
Yeah, that's likely why they changed it. If it was truly something they considered for very long at all.
Still, makes the story we ended up with make much more cohesive sense, doesn't it?
By campfire group you mean the 400 days group?

Which two?
Well, it was gonna be in Part 1, so...yeah.
Everything about it just screams "cool looking throwaway location we'd visit for ~2 scenes… more" to me.
Not to exacerbate anything, but that was pretty much in stone until I dug up the various screenshots, textures, and concept art for the latter thread.
Ah. Got a tad uncertain since any of the two can be.
Pretty sure Carlos is supposed to be a less take on Lee on the baseline, but as I found, it's inherently easy for him to be associated with Kenny also/instead.
HELL, Carlos having that attitude towards Jane would make sense.
Which two?
kenny and carlos.
it's like you said, you could just replace kenny with carlos in episode 3 and 4 and have to change very little.
HELL, Carlos having that attitude towards Jane would make sense.
You ever notice how Kenny seems to have no ill feelings towards Jane in episode 3 or 4?
It's just suddenly written in the last episode.
He even seems impressed with her in episode 3.

Oh yeah.
I barely remember him thinking much of anything on her at all outside of that.
Does he have a similar line when you come back from the first task if went with Mike and Bonnie first instead?

I've actually never went with mike and bonnie first.
But in Episode 3 Kenny points his thumb at Jane and asks "where'd she come from" in an impressed way with a smirk on his face. (this is when she starts talking and gives them ideas for the escape plan) If the writing were better, I'd say it was intentionally ironic considering he ends up hating her but I doubt that.

S3's. I can't even imagine what could have been had it not been rewritten in July 2016. I really like the short E3 teaser they released around that time. What a wasted potential...
I know.
I've actually never went with mike and bonnie first.
I honestly forgot that was even an option on my second playthrough however long ago. Partly since the game wants to constantly focus on Jane.
It's been a while, but I seem to vaguely recall one of them mentioning that Mike & Bonnie are going to the museum and that Clementine could go with them, but it was in something of an offhand, easy to forget about way.
Meanwhile, Jane gets Bonnie wondering whether she'll really help or if she'll just leave and Luke walking over to...just be doubtful of that I guess, which draws your attention towards following her.
It doesn't help that Clementine can say who she'd go after first and then immediately leave for there after letting Luke/Kenny know.
You know, a really good editor with too much time should remake anf into the season 3 we should have had. I mean, its possible right? Now we just have to find someone who actually wants to do that.
Maybe if ANF used a common engine like Unity a dedicated group of people who know what they’re doing could make something. The problem is ANF uses the Telltale Tool so nobody would spend that much time learning how to use that mess of a program.

I think a story board showing the cast, locations, and outcomes of the main major choices might be more feasible. All we need now are some artists with DeviantArt accounts and lots of free time to create those story boards.

I know that, I was talking about once they [mostly] decided against the whole evil country slavers plotline.
A little odd this specific detail never came up before, if so.
