Skybound released some developer commentary for The Walking Dead: Final Season Episode 1, starring Kent Mudle (creative director), Gideon Adlon (Violet), Christ Rebbert (supervising director), and Melissa Hutchinson (Clementine)!

My favourite tidbit is that in a draft of episode 4 there was going to be a birthday party for AJ, and in some branches Louis would give AJ a stool leg called Chairles Jr or Stoolio.

  • Anyone else get signed out at some point, presumably because of the layout?

  • Is it confirmed?

@lupinb0y Yeah, this one bothered me, especially since we already had TWO Death Stars. Fair point. Star Wars needs to escape its obsession with superweapons.

Yeah this is a criticism like this is something I can get behind. Star Wars absolutely needs to walk away from super weapons. The old EU had even dumber stuff like this. There was the Sun Crusher, a ship the size of a starfighter which was nearly indestructible and could destroy galaxies by taking out its suns.

There was also the oddly named Dark Saber.

I'm watching stuff from Batman: Enemy Within and I still absolutely love this game. I love the writing, the characters and John so much.

Yeah, I need to get back to that at some point.

To be fair the Dark Saber isn't a super weapon. It's just a really cool looking lightsaber with cool backstory.

  • Watch It: Chapter 2 today! I enjoyed a lot! The cast do a great job as the adult versions of the Losers Club, with James McAvoy and Bill Hader being the standouts. They all really feel like they're a group of friends like the original kids. Once again Bill Skarsgård does a fantastic job playing the dancing clown Pennywise, that man needs to be cast in more movies. However, storywise it isn't as well written as the previous movie. There's a bit too much exposition at the start and it gets a little confusing at times. Also in my theatre I found it hard to hear some of the dialogue at times.

Overall I found it to be really enjoyable. I really like the cast and Pennywise, the dialogue between the cast is great for the most partt, and you get some pretty cool/creepy looking visuals.

  • Ah I completely forgot it used to be the name of a ship! I'm pretty sure it was introduced as a lightsaber in the CG Clone Wars animated series.

  • I don't know what it is with telltale and eyes in these "remastered" games. They look extremely bad like they did in the collection. For the light, it's pretty bad. Kinda looks like brightness is really high though but I dunno if it is. Either way it's not.. fantastic.

Yeah, the eyes look really washed out. It could be because of the change of the lighting and shaders that were also in effect in The Collection. What makes it look truly awful is the fact that the brightness is set to the highest level. Everything looks extremely washed out as a result.

With a bit of correction to the lighting and brightness value, it looks much better.

Again: this does not look great, but there is a high possibility that we will get a day 1 patch that MIGHT fix some of the issues. If not, we can keep complaining.

  • Ahhh, I still can't decide who I want to play as first in Borderlands 3.

For the longest time, I was dead set on Zane: a drunken Irish loner that can have 2 of his 3 action skills used at one time (so long as you don't use a grenade mod). The ability to summon a clone version of yourself while also having a drone that goes out and shoots enemies sounds awesome.

But lately I've been leaning more towards Moze, who can summon and take control of a giant robot (à la Titanfall) that you can customize and further equip with railguns, laser weapons, and grenade launchers. It's an offensive juggernaut.

It's literally going to come down to a fucking coin flip on Friday, I can already tell.

  • Zane for me. His fast movement combined with his drone + clone action skills and skill trees makes him stupid fun and powerful.

But every VH in BL3 is exceptionally made and designed. Gearbox did good.

  • Oh no, I remember that--Pre Visla had it, courtesy of George Lucas.
I was asking when they started calling it that, as it was just something he used in Clone Wars from what I remember.

I'm not too sure but I think during the production of Clone Wars, Lucas and the team referred to it as the Darksaber, but it was only officially given the name in Rebels.

  • After spending some more time fiddling with the skill trees on Borderlands' website, I'm starting to lean more towards Zane again. Honestly though, there's just so much variety and ways to play each character, there was definitely a lot of thought that was put into this aspect of it.

  • I don't think that's what Michael Jackson said when they asked him how to make his toy figure of his 6 year-old self look like.

  • Okay, that makes sense. It's been almost a year since I watched that, so I honestly don't remember if it had a name.
Funny how the idea for something like that came from the head honcho himself.

  • Apparently 9 is going to boycott some of the problems to make the movie at least a little bit bearable? One of the changes is supposed to be that Rey’s parents won’t be nobodies, and one of my theories is that Snoke was a failed clone of palpatine who’s spirit lived inside of him, which would explain why palps is suddenly back and Snoke’s species is unknown.

Just like everyone else, I think this is the worst Star Wars film ever made and the most disappointing film I've ever seen. When is the last time you watched either the Phantom Menace or Attack of the Clones?

  • In terms of choices and consequences, Detroit is by far the best game to pull it off due to the insane budget. At least on a mechanicle level.

But David Cage just isn't that great of a writer. He's basically what pulls Quantic Dreams' games down the most.

I think a major player in how/why Detroit has such a big scope in Choices is thanks to Sony's exclusive backing.
That game is high-budget stuff and it shows (in both engine graphics and large flowcharts)

And this game's marketing push seemed to be much stronger than QD's previous titles. Sony had a lot of faith.
