Working where I do, I'm surprised I didn't have it already at some point. Just with how many people I see day in and day out and how much I'm there, I was operating under the assumption I had it months ago and just didn't know about it. Thank you Chicken, but I'm not really too worried about this. I am looking at getting a second test done, see if it was a false positive, to try and get back to work. If it is a legitimate positive, then I'm not expecting anything too bad. I'm 23, no serious health risks, I eat relatively well, this will most likely be nothing too serious. Worst I feel right now is tired, and that's more from being up since 3:30 in the morning trying to shovel my car out of the snow from a huge snow storm we had the previous night. Even talking to my parents, they say it just feels like they have a regular cold, they are doing pretty well at the moment as well. Still, I appreciate it.
Got all my fingers and toes crossed for you and your parents, Metallica. Hope you guys beat this thing fast, and that if this positive case … moreholds true, it's just a mild case of it.
...Goddamn. Never expected one of our own would be faced with a positive covid test. Stay safe out there, y'all.
Fu~~uuck this year! Cannot wait to leave it behind.
Bit of an out of nowhere question, but I'm working on a personal project, and if any of you have any personal attachment or love for the Silent Hill series and have stories to share about your experiences with it, I'd appreciate it if you DMd me and told me about them. I can elaborate more on why in the DMs if ya wish ofc.
If you want to make a dent in your games library for the time being, maybe list off some of the things in your backlog and maybe we can all give input on what to tackle first.

Well, looks like it wasn't just my parents that tested positive for COVID. I just tested positive as well unfortunately. Not to worry, I'm f… moreeeling completely fine, no symptoms to report on as of now, and I will be doing the necessary quarantining for the next two weeks while doing what work I can from home. Got plenty of food to last, so that's not going to be a problem, maybe I can actually start tackling some of the other games in my library with the time off.
While I do think that Disney's whole Investor Day presentation was an overload of entertainment (also in showcasing what brands they're really willing to milk and shovel money into, despite my excitement for them) I just learned of one Pixar announcement that flew under the radar:
Domee Shi, the director of that adorably heartwarming short Bao has secured a director's position for a feature-length Pixar film! YES. SO DANG HAPPY FOR HER.

So Cyberpunk just got removed from PlayStation store apparently. Yikes.
I think this pushback against these huge companies releasing unfinished products or falsely advertising that their game runs on older consoles is a good thing. At the same time, this is far from the worst case of a game being put into stores in a completely messy state. Telltale itself is a good example.
Just read about that.
IMO, I feel like this might have been more of a CDPR decision than a Sony one.
We've had some broken and buggy games release on the PS4 before, some (or at least one -- No Man's Sky) were notoriously buggy and underwhelming compared to their pre-release footage, but there was never a complete takedown in that case, least of all from Sony themselves... So it seems to me that CDPR might be doing the good move here in completely removing access to the broken version of the game to patch it up until it's ready for a re-release (if that's even possible).

I'm pretty sure it's confirmed to be a Sony decision. The announcement and news outlets all place Sony Interactive Entertainment as the ones deciding to remove the game from PSN. CD Projekt has yet to release a statement as far as I'm aware.
This feels like a response to CDPR telling the playerbase that if they want a refund that they should call Sony and Microsoft without any prior discussion. It'd be interesting if Microsoft follows suit.

In this case it would be because CP77 has a much larger playerbase than previous titles but the game itself runs at an unstable 20fps on last gen consoles which makes it nigh unplayable at certain points. No Man's Sky had its own set of issues but at least it didn't play like a slideshow.
Just read about that.

Just finished season 2 of Hilda. I don't think there's much more to say other than it's absolutely fantastic and continues on with the high quality set by the previous season with episode 9 being a particular favourite of mine. It's cozy, fun, touching, emotional, with at times some surprisingly high stakes and I just didn't want it to end.
Very much looking forward to the movie which I assume will be releasing sometime next year.
I really hope that it gets renewed for another season. There's so much to the weird and wonderful world of Hilda that I would just love to see more of and I don't think I'm ready to say goodbye to it just yet.
Finally got around to playing Oxenfree and gotta say it was real good, kinda sad I sat on it so long.
That said that makes me pretty disappointed with After Party which I bought last year but never finished. Which is kinda weird because they both play similar. I guess maybe because Oxen is a mystery it’s more engaging than After Party’s more linear straight forward story. But also I feel Oxenfree has way more player interactivity. It always felt like I was doing something while in After Party I felt like I was standing around doing nothing. Does anyone know if there was a change with the studio between the 2 games because it’s kinda weird how Oxen I found so engaging but After Party I felt disconnected.
Man, you've only just now played Oxenfree? Glad to hear you enjoyed it (and regret not playing it sooner ) you've been missing out on a pretty dang good dev.
Though I feel the same way about Afterparty. Something about that game just isn't for me, or didn't hook me the same way Oxenfree did, and I have no idea why.
Now, Oxenfree does have lots of content right up my alley (I'm a sucker for time loops, alt universes, and mysterious supernatural hijinks), but while I enjoyed the trailers and lead up to Afterparty's release, there's just something about it that I can't enjoy, and I dropped the game soon after starting and haven't finished it...
Oxenfree had the benefit of a bunch of secret, optional content to search for with the Radio you can constantly tune into... So there's one reason it's more engaging, I'd say.
If you've only played Oxenfree once though, make sure to go through it again for a New Game Plus. There's a couple small scene changes and an extended ending.

I liked Oxenfree, too, but I never played Afterparty. after seeing the reviews about it. It sounds like they came up with an exciting concept but failed to include enough interesting things to keep the player engaged.

Cyberpunk 2077 gets a lot of shit these days and people have every right to get pissed.
But I am sitting here and thinking: Why was CD project treated like God before this whole situation to begin with? I never even heard of the Witcher games until they released the third game which was praised all over the place. I did play The Witcher 3 a little bit, I thought the story was very interesting and I liked the characters but I could never get into the gameplay, thus not finishing the whole storyline. It was dated af and I didn't find the combat very intriguing.
Maybe it's just not my type but I don't think one "masterpiece" can turn a whole studio into one of the best and the fans scared me so much.
Why was CD project treated like God before this whole situation to begin with?
I think it's cause they've done a lot of pro-consumer moves in times where other companies would make it painfully clear they're only doing it for the money (now, CDPR definitely does these moves for the money -- especially since people are more willing to follow and buy your products if there's a lot of goodwill behind it, but still, they look better than other companies because of this)
But, they tried to push their luck this time in some very very anti-consumer, manipulating moves... And it kind of backfired, kind of didn't?
(They made back all their money on day 1 due to pre-orders, but... It's a very broken game and very un-optimised for current-gen) Somehow people still try to defend them because of this, though, which is baffling.
Kinda reminds me of... another dev that was maybe put too high on a pedastal this year, and the hype couldn't hold it up.
Yikes.

Especially the ones who say "What the fuck did you expect? They ported it to 7 years old consoles who are dated as hell". I'm like, are you fucking serious?
First of all, this game was supposed to come out in April 2020, the time when PS5 and Xbox Series X weren't released and it was marketed to be on PS4 and Xbox One so many times. They never said anything about waiting for next gen consoles or upgrading it to them.
Secondly, did anyone actually forget Red Dead Redemption 2? I'm not exactly certain about its budget but RDR2 seemed MUCH bigger than this game and it ran soo well on my base PS4 console. There were still a few bugs but they happen rarely and there were no gamebreaking glitches. Also, from what I have read, GTA 5 appears to be the most expensive game ever made, even more than Cyberpunk 2077 and I had zero issues with it when I played it on my PS3 back in the day. CD's defenders have no excuse for this.

I am not crazy! I know they swapped those legal rights. I knew it was 4. One after The Walking Dead Season Two. As if I could ever make such a mistake. Never. Never! I just - I just couldn't prove it. They covered their tracks, he got that idiot on Steam Database to lie for them. You think this is something? You think this is bad? This? This chicanery? They’ve done worse. That “Redux” trailer? Are you telling me that a Telltale leak just pops up like that? No! They orchestrated it! Gearbox! They ruined Vaughn’s character! And I gave them the benefit of the doubt! And I shouldn't have. I took it into my own game library. What was I thinking? They’ll never change. They’ll never change! Ever since they recast Troy Baker always the same! Couldn't keep the same voice actors! But not our Gearbox! Couldn't be precious Gearbox! Stealing us blind! And THEY get to make Tales from the Borderlands 2? What a sick joke! I should've stopped then when I had the chance!
And you, you have to stop him! You -

This. I also feel like they kinda became "the new Bioware" after The Witcher 3,TW3 was a great example of how to make a AAA game right but many people (including me) only played it way later when it came out, from what i've seen TW3 didn't exactly have a great launch either but got patched later i imagine the same will happen with Cyberpunk.
The real problem is how some people are okay with a game coming up like that if it means it'll be patched later there really is no excuse for this,it's not an early access game it's supposed to be playable and that's the problem. It's a shame because the game really is good too.

The Season 2 DLC was envisioned to be a perspective thing, where you'd play as certain characters during points of the story.
That sounds really awesome, should have done that to pump in some extra cash instead of the Michonne series. I was a longtime advocate for some sort of DLC for stuff like how Kenny survived Savannah, or Jane and her sister, or something like how Luke and company escaped Howe's and the circumstances surrounding that. Even if you already know what was going to happen, you still would have added some extra story or character depth with it. And who's to say it had to revolve around choices, you could have done other stuff with this that focused on gameplay like puzzle solving (though, this being Bruner's Telltale, we all know it would have followed the choice format and Telltale formula).
InColdBlood was doing a stream rewatching some of his videos and he mentioned a few things that are interesting to note:
* Those family… more photos in Javier's house are apparently not anywhere that's easy to see
* Among the concept art used as paintings are the Ski Lodge during the day, a lake, and a large pond in a forest
* The unused animation of Clementine knocking out Javier was supposed to happen after she kills Eli
* Francine was apparently bitten, which would've motivated her "betrayal"
* The Season 2 DLC was envisioned to be a perspective thing, where you'd play as certain characters during points of the story.
* Michonne was made specifically to help raise more money
* He doesn't know why an early achievement for the series finale has the achievement Time Bomb: You covered up the crime.
I was defending CDPR and Cyberpunk in the time leading up to its release, but yeah, its hard to impossible to defend this launch as anything but horrendous. If this was EA or Activision releasing a game like this (unfinished, unpolished, buggy, low resolution), we'd all be shitting on it, and rightfully so. CD should not get a pass because they haven't always acted like them. True, while their track record isn't as long as those other companies and they have a history of actually fixing them instead of just saying they would, it's still unacceptable and we shouldn't let them get away with that. You don't pay to see a movie in theaters, only to have it be a complete mess, and then go and buy the director's cut with 30 extra minutes that fixes up some of the problems (looking at you Batman V. Superman). I paid for the full movie, so I should get the full movie. If I paid for the game, I expect it to work and function when I get it, not months down the road.

So I'm watching Life is Strange for the first time and I gotta say, these graphics are--whoo! Seeing that Max's notebook listed 2013 is really saying something cause man, some of these seniors and teachers look like lower res GTA IV characters. And that's if they're lucky--above the middle is an ascot guy with a Fortnite haircut and just above the lower tier is a round girl with fuckin frosting for hair.
Plus, the lipsynching, if you can call it that, wasn't much better than a nutcracker with lockjaw on the teacher and Daniel weirds me out for a number of reasons despite his model actually looking alright.
Some of this subject matter is also a bit offbeat, even knowing about the rewind mechanic and the tense relationship at the apparent center of the story's conflict. That note thanking a girl for a porn video is one thing already, but how is there a drug deal gone bad in the first fifteen minutes?
I'm playing Gris right now. Great game so far. Utterly beautiful looking, incredibly well animated, absurdly good soundtrack and the gameplay is a decent amount of fun albeit a bit slow, especially toward the start.
However, I got through about two thirds (two hours) of the game and decided to take a break. Got to the menu and accidentally clicked new game and now I have to restart everything from the beginning.

If you want to make a dent in your games library for the time being, maybe list off some of the things in your backlog and maybe we can all give input on what to tackle first.

Appreciated Deku, thank you.

In this case it would be because CP77 has a much larger playerbase than previous titles but the game itself runs at an unstable 20fps on last gen consoles which makes it nigh unplayable at certain points. No Man's Sky had its own set of issues but at least it didn't play like a slideshow.
I wish a speedy recovery to you and your family!
Anyway, Oxenfree good.
Man, you've only just now played Oxenfree? Glad to hear you enjoyed it (and regret not playing it sooner
) you've been missing out on a pretty dang good dev.
Hope everything goes well for you and your family, fingers crossed.
You -
InColdBlood was doing a stream rewatching some of his videos and he mentioned a few things that are interesting to note:
Uhhh
If you know... You know.
Alright Chuck, let's calm down.
Thought you could fool me with a copypasta, eh Poogs?
It's not a copypasta its a real illness.
It's a shame because the game really is good too.
...

P.S. How can you know Prism?
I'm playing Gris right now. Great game so far. Utterly beautiful looking, incredibly well animated, absurdly good soundtrack and the gameplay is a decent amount of fun albeit a bit slow, especially toward the start.
However, I got through about two thirds (two hours) of the game and decided to take a break. Got to the menu and accidentally clicked new game and now I have to restart everything from the beginning.
Damn that sucks, sorry. Stick to it though this game's a true indie gem one of the best indie games i've ever played honestly it really is something.
Oh geez, that questionable bong image is actually in the game!! Wtf
I'm sure this wasn't made directly towards a certain video game company that's been in the news a lot lately.
