Steam activation

Six months ago I bought the Humble Indie Bundle, and I was pleasantly surprised last week with an email showing me how to activate those games on Steam. Any chance that Telltale might be able to do something similar with the games I've bought from them?

    I Third this idea
  • The problem, as has been explained in many other threads, is that Telltale would basically have to buy a copy for everyone on Steam. I believe Valve did the HIB thing for free because it was a charity bundle... they'd almost certainly charge Telltale a lot.

Not contributing to the question, but: what? You got an email? Weird, for some reason I never did... :(

This is correct. I bought the HIB as well and got this email. From what I've heard on a few gaming sites there's going to be a second HIB coming soon and Steam did this to help promote it due to it's proceeds going (in part) to charity. Telltale is not a charity so we can't do anything like this but that shouldn't stop anyone from praising Wolfire for creating an awesome bundle for a great cause and Steam for helping to promote it.

**Also, I'm not sure if Steam did it for free or if they did it for a low cost. I've just read "The Bundle's creators have worked out a deal with Valve to allow the five games therein to be activated on the Steam platform."

Skofo: Nice! Out of curiosity, did you have to pay Valve anything?

Jeff: Nope... shouldn't Valve be paying us for this though?

I'm not sure why he thinks Valve should pay them though..? All it's doing is increasing the load on their servers a bit.

If you didn't get the email, you can get the Steam key from the top of your HIB download page. And if you forgot your original download key you can use their key resender.
