I'm not very familiar with the series in particular.

Is the theme very mystical like Harry Potter, or peppy and fast like Superman, or filled with noir?

    It's a combination of noir and fantasy, I'd say from having read the first three volumes.

    I would agree with that. It also has a lot of humor. Its definitely not a comic meant for kids though. It's pretty R-rated.

    Part noir, part fantasy, though more lighthearted than you might think.
