  • Same here. I got the login screen in the beginning but now it just gives me the error message.

When I attempt to boot the game, I don't even GET a login screen. Hitting the 'Start Game' button just immediately brings up the error screen.

  • Same as Ponk, at 5pm WHY ARE THE SERVERS STIIL NOT LOADING?

Seriously annoying as this problem has been since 1am and every previous game launch

I got it to work. You want to login with your account name. If the login dialogue is not displayed to you enter "regedit" in execute window Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Telltale Games\Launcher there you have to delete you login and pwd key. Restart, reenter credentials and I got it to activate.

This worked for me. Hope it helps!

  • Hey just purchased this around half an hour ago. had the same server issues. on the support page somebody posted an updated command prompt for people that were uning 64 bit versions of windows( since the cmd prompt they posted earlier in the day did nothing for 64 bit users), and that finally fixed it for me. Hope this helps.

  • i am still experiencing the message "cannot communicate with server" before i even get to the login. I press click to begin button and it says this. I have tried most of the suggestions in these forums, not sure what u guys mean by torrent, but can someone give me an easy solution that is in leyman's terms?

  • Should I just wait until tomorrow to play the game? I am still getting the message.

With the help of a TT poster, I fixed the problem by deleting trailer in the registry using command calls. Somehow this worked. I recall it being suggested in this TT forums... although next I did end up with a save scare (feedback told me it did not find them carried over from season 1!),

I proceeded to download all of the save files and special procep (sp?) file extensions into the season 2 and game file folders from Telltale documents... after reading a FAQ submitted on the forums, I discovered... IT SEARCHES AFTER YOU PRESS PLAY... Perfect! After loading the screen, the launcher claimed my 1st season and 400 days saves were not found. But, in fact, the launcher had not even searched my documents yet. Why not just immediately search for the data from the get-go, or have this as an option in the save area to avoid confusion?

Although I eventually was able to play the 1st episode fully, it took several hours to troubleshoot how to even load it. I suspect less computer savvy users will be even more upset with the user friendliness of the launcher. These things should be beta tested with a small group a day before official release.

  • Mike said to put this in cmd:
    REG DELETE "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Telltale Games\Launcher/p>

    It should be this:
    REG DELETE "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Telltale Games\Launcher
    Then say yes.
Once I did that, I opened it again and got the login screen finally.

  • Had the same problem. Deleting my username and password in the registry solved my problem !

  • See I tried that, but never had it appear in my registry, but using the command line worked, so good.

  • This did not work for me. I did the CMD line multiple times and it's still saying it cannot communicate with the server.

  • Is it working for you yet Skellous?
