Will Telltale release their engine to the public?
Wouldn't it be great if Telltale would release their engine to the public? Oh the happy ending mods...
Seriously though, i would love that, from subtitle translation to full convertion mods ;D.
We can make Terminator Clem a reality this way :O.
Update: Jennifer (Moderator) said that "Telltale is against modding their games (for obvious reasons, since it would make the license holders very unhappy if there were versions of Telltale's games out there that did things that the license holders didn't like).
At one time though (back in 2007), Telltale wanted to release a community focused tool to create your own games. I doubt that's still a plan though, unfortunately."
Well... fuck.

She looks fucking creepy there 0.0
Eh....... I'm going with creepy.
You mean Badass
Not gonna lie, this would be pretty fucking awesome. I always wanted a Kenny moustache on Clem xD
Being able to make mods for this will help us fix bugs a lot of bugs
If I would have Telltale's engine, I would have Clementine turn into a wolf like Bigby from TWAU when she gets angry. Oh and turn Rebbeca into Grendel.
Betta then nothing.
Just the mustache Man not the FACE
And I would of made the characters from season 1 to wear the clothes from TWAU. Lee would wear Bigby's clothes, Clementine would wear Toad Junior's clothes, Carley would wear Snow White's clothes, Lilly would wear Holly's clothes, Larry would wear the Woodsman's clothes, Kenny would wear the Beast's clothes etc.

the cleminator :0
But mods have not really anything to do with the base game, why would the license holders care?
Sorry to make an odd comparison, but look at Call of Duty 4, more than half of the community there is all about the mods! If anything i'm sure it would just improve sales (if that's what license holders care about).
In this case though, you're talking about a company that is licensing properties from someone else (as the games that allow modifications are completely owned by the company that makes the game). Plus, all of Telltale's games are cinematic ones with a story and settings that keep true to the spirit of the source material. If Telltale officially allows users to make modifications that lose that spirit, it would likely be hard to get big name licenses in the future, since the strict adherence to the spirit of the source material is the major reason that licensors that usually don't allow a video game adaptation allow Telltale to make one.
Not gonna lie, much like valve's source filmmaker, releasing Telltale Games' engine would result in some amazing stuff i bet. Who knows, maybe it'll happen someday.
Whats with this version of whose baby is it ? On the PS3 it has a killer over the hat camera angle. you never see her eyes. She looks just evil. I didnt raised her like that back in Season 1 but I was so proud of her. Is it somehow based on the choices in Season 1 or is it actually different from the console version on PC?
No. You chose "Whose baby is it?" yourself you know, you had different options. The way Clementine acts is up to you now.
Thank you for informing all of us, but i'm still a little lost with how mods would have anything to do with the base game, do you mean like reputation or? I don't see how licensors would really care about the mods. With mods i simply mean things that you can download as a side-story type of deal, like Amnesia and the custom stories.
I think its like how Kirkman sure wouldn't like to see the Walking dead world suddenly turned into a cute world with no violence or walkers and clowns everywhere.
Even if it's a optional mod, if it happens to be more played than the original game, the damage is already done to the walking dead series, and the blame would be Telltale's for letting such a thing happen to his world.
While we as players would probably undestand its just a mod, with no connections to the Walking Dead Universe, He could see it differently.
Telltale is not the only company, that not allows modding their games. But it would be nice, if we have a "community" engine, to make fun things.
If it does happen we must make sure that lexi does NOT get her hands on it.
Those rules for the "Engine", would be good, IMO.
1st, you NEED to be registred to this Forum.
2nd, you can´t mod to people together.
3nd, you are (of course) not allowed, to make weird stuff with it.
And some more rules for the Engine.
Not sticking with these rules, can lead to block, or permanently ban.
Lexi, isn´t a big problem, but we keep attention to her. We, really need to think about to flag her on Google+, YouTube, etc.
