Their AMA on Reddit stated that they were working on episode 3 and 4 of TWAU and episode 1 and 2 of TWD, which implied that episode 2 was practically finished so I don't know why episode 2 is taking so long. My guess is that there was a huge glitch or something that took forever to completely fix (so people don't complain about decisions not transferring or something) and by the time it was solved it was just about time for the The Walking Dead and didn't want one episode overshadowing the other so they held out.
That's my prediction though, I literally played TWAU just now and liked it so I've come to enjoy the wait for episode 2. My gut tells me they're done with most of the episodes considering that the achievement list for the game is done, so that means they're done writing and Telltale typically writes the episodes as they work on them so either they wrote the series early or they're just about done and we'll be getting the remaining episodes at quick intervals like with Jurassic Park. That game suffered countless delays until they said "Screw it" and released all the episodes at once. Granted that game sucked but still I think the point stands.
Though it could be like people say and Telltale is a bit overwhelmed at the moment. They went from being a nice little studio known for episodic adventure games to having their damn popularity just explode with the release of The Walking Dead game within the course of a year. It kinda takes a while to adjust to sudden popularity like that.
I really regret buying the game and with the recent announcement of the new games they are making I think TWAU got screwed
I believe when T… moreWD and TWAU started together that TTG had no idea that TWD was a ticking time bomb. People just enjoy the content at a scary impressive amount. TWD immediately became a priority to them and opened up all these new business paths. Now there are so many intellectual property holders jumping upon one another to throw money at TTG to create their game,
It just looks like TTG seems to be very busy keeping up the cash cow TWD and getting the ball rolling on the new games that TWAU is being less of a priority for them. I sure hope I'm wrong but it would not surprise me if you see TWD ep 3 and 4 get released before ep 3 of TWAU.
Or you see TWAU episodes come out at a shocking fast pace with maybe not the quality you expected them to be.
We will see. I hope episode 2 comes out soon and is not too short,.
LOL, there's already a discount on the season pass? Before the 2nd ep is released?
If true - what a way to fuck over your fanbase. No more TTG season pass pre-Ep 2 for me for all future releases.
I'm really starting to wonder if Telltale even checks these forums. Everyone's complaining, and rightfully so, about how they've handled this … moreand they don't stop by to say "Sorry guys! Things are crazy and we're sorry about the delay!"?
It just feels like you've forgotten us Telltale. And after you've given away Episode 1 and discounted the Season Pass, I really think those of us that payed full price early and have been waiting anxiously deserve something more than an apology.
As much as I hate to admit it, that is my thinking as well. With the way they "struggled" (I know some people are bound to say they didn't struggle) with releasing episodes from season one of TWD, when it was the only game they were doing at the time, I find it incredibly entertaining that they're simultaneously working on and releasing two different games now. Just think of how horrible it'll be if TWD gets more seasons after season two and then they're trying to juggle 3 different games. Ugh.
edit: Just wanted to point out that I believe TWD was the only game Telltale was working on last year. If I'm incorrect on that, I'm sure someone will point it out
I don't think they can handle two games at once. If this is what we have look forward for Game of Thrones, Borderlands. They tweeted their cur… morerently hiring. Who hires right before they deliver some of the widely known names like Game of Thrones. The Walking Dead Ep 1, Season 1 was also much much more interactive and longer then Season 2.
It's kinda obvious they just can't handle releasing two games at once. I may sound bitter, a tiny bit. We've all been waiting on here repeating the same question "when is it coming" their answer "soon"..if that's soon...I hate to see what late is. I agree for most part on your points.
It's weird in a way. I saw Tell Tale actually show signs of life...on their twitter feed. To tweet that Walking Dead Season 2 is now 25 percen… moret off. I mean I'm seriously starting to think, they're just milking this product for cash now. With Xbox users getting Wolf Among Us for free, and now this discount only after one Ep
It just really weird.
I heard that before. I heard that many many times. It never happens. Similar to when Walking Dead about to come out, they kept saying "Maybe tomorrow they will announce a release date" they never did. We found out through steam two days in advance.
They are going to start losing fans. They are slowly losing me thats for sure. Their games might be great but the way they give it to the public is horrible. I will try to forget about telltale for a couple of months.
LOL, there's already a discount on the season pass? Before the 2nd ep is released?

Seriously people, just find something to do for a little while then BAM! it will be out before you know it. Obsessing over it and spamming the forums isn't going to make it release any faster.
That could work, or they could release games on time. People didn't start to obsessing till it reached the 2nd month mark. Now it's the 3rd. They did announce an update early Jan. Well it's Early Jan. That's what people are waiting for. Don't blame us for Tell Tale inability to effective communicate anything to their fans.

I understand that TellTale haven't been communicating well, but when I have to wait for something, I always find that getting my mind off what I'm waiting for makes time go by faster. Plus early January doesn't mean the 1st or 2nd day of the month. :P give it the first week.

The suspect in current theory just screams red herring to me... partly because of his hair, and partly because I've watched the Clue movie at least a hundred times... xD

It hasnt even been 3 months and no where near going on 4. Shit happens. Bugs, story changes, setbacks. Im sure most focus was given to Walking Dead season 2 for a while.
It's okay to complain, as long as it's right reason. Three months, going on four months for a one hour and thirty minute video game, is a vali… mored reason to be both frustrated, discouraged. All I know is their games, better be mind blowing. Because their customer service, and ability to deliver on time is not exactly the best.
I'd rather telltale finish the episode well than finish the episode on time.
Granted, if the episode was finished both well and on time, as it should be. that'd be great. I too agree that the telltale should release both very good episodes and on time as well.
However, if we where to choose for telltale to follow their release quality, or to follow their release date. Then ten out of ten times I'd want them to follow their release quality. Every. Single. Time.
Now their communication with us, their news, their teasers, their following of what they'll say, the speed of their releases, all of that stuff they might be doing all of that poorly, However you guys have to realize something.
Priority no.1 is to release a great game.
Priority no.2 is to release a great game.
Priority no.3 is to release a great game.
Priority no.4 is to release a great game.
Priority no.5 is to release a great game.
These are the most important things they have to do. Release speed, news accuracy, true trailers, screenshots. All of that and everything else is below secondary. To me the most important thing I want from telltale is to release great games, great episodes. For their final products to be great enough to stand in the same high platform as the walking dead season 1.
Don't misunderstand this as me saying I don't care about the release date. I want and hunger for the wolf among us to come faster. If telltale take their time, we won't be able to get a great episode for extra months. However if they rush the release date. Then we won't get a great episode at all.
But they choose episode based game. They are building an experience. Its 4 months since first episode. I am not prepared to play first episode again to remember what game all about and all the details. I will probably wait for a whole season for both games because i can see they cant handle it. They robbing as of an experience. Its fun to debate about an episode for a 14 days. Its ok to wait a month or little more but then it starts to became annoying. You lost feeling for the game. You forget things, emotional attachment fade away and so on. Its just not good experience even if writing is superb.

If it's not released by tomorrow, likely next week. Again. It's just an update. Not a release. They could just be telling us "Jack is in Wolf Among Us..we been working hard..we need more time to polish talk to you in a few months"..
You seem to forget they had more time to make this game, more time then the Walking Dead had. How much of a delay is acceptable to make a single ep into a polished great game. From where I'm sitting, they had more then a year, add on three months plus and we haven't even got the second ep done.
Alright, so telltale is awful at time usage, we established that.Let's even say telltale is horrible. Telltale is horrible.
Irregardless, should we rush them on releasing it faster than they want or not?
Because when they release it. and if it's released bad, then the game will remain bad forever and no amount of time will change or fix that. The experience is worth the wait and the lack of wait is not worth the lack of experience.

I believe the customers are entitled to show concerns regarding the release. Rambling on the forums will at the very least show TellTale some dissatisfaction. Perhaps just a small update with some news on how everything is going. Doesn't take a lot for a member of staff to type something out instead of keeping us all in the dark.

TellTale don't want to be silent about something that could get them more fans.. I mean yeah, that is a bit greedy, but...
Episode 2 has been uploaded on Steam Database on December 20 2013 – 03:26:19 UTC. It is just a matter of time until we get a release date.
I heard that before. I heard that many many times. It never happens. Similar to when Walking Dead about to come out, they kept saying "Maybe tomorrow they will announce a release date" they never did. We found out through steam two days in advance.
Perhaps Telltale had to redo huge chunks of the storyline because many people had already figured out who the killer is.
I think that's a bit of a weird theory to be honest, isn't the entire theory just based on seeing the guy multiple times around the first episode?
I Just wish it just come out....I want to see who is the "I Thought you where dead" person...Christa...or maybe Lilly or something!
They are going to start losing fans. They are slowly losing me thats for sure. Their games might be great but the way they give it to the public is horrible. I will try to forget about telltale for a couple of months.
Yeah.
I feel like an idiot for buying it when it was released, now.
Won't happen again.
Do you realize this is The Wolf Among Us theme thread?... Not The Walking Dead?... Wrong Thread Sir...
Love the game and also love Telltale. Don't love the way they been handeling The Wolf Among Us, the lack of information is just weird to me!

True. But I can't imagine any better explanations for telltale taking so long with episode 2.

Clue movie? What is this you speak of?
So any news?
Wait until 6 december, when TTG staff return to work.
whole year? oh well...sigh
It hasnt even been 3 months and no where near going on 4. Shit happens. Bugs, story changes, setbacks. Im sure most focus was given to Walking Dead season 2 for a while.
One of the best movies of all time, that's what.
Update expected early January, it is early January but its just the start of early january if you know what I mean so yeh. Couple more days
Is it this?
Clue
January, sorry

still no news..........
So are you saying that faster worse written episodes would make for a better experience?

Sooo ....
5 episodes, 3-4 months between releases ... Are we looking at a year and a half to two year release schedule for this thing?
I remember TellTale stating that realeses will be sporadic until the start of the upcoming year and to expect realeses more regularly starting 2014.
TellTale is hiring. Good to know. Maybe with new Employees they will work faster.
