The Walking Dead Season 1: Episode 4-5 Game Bug
The game I’ve purchased is from Steam. - The Walking Dead Game Season 1
The bug found is during the transition from Episode 4 to Episode 5.
Just when I have ended Episode 4 and start to play Episode 5 the save file and stats are deleted. Thus beginning Episode 5 with a randomly chosen stat.
Hope this will be fixed soon so the consumers get to see what they chose in Season 2.

Does it matter if its from Steam because I don't think it has a registry for it.
The error messages are no problem. You just need to upload the file it creates.
Please rename the prefs.prop in
C:\Users\Propriétaire\Documents\Telltale Games\The Walking Dead
to prefs.prop.bak to deactivate it.
Then move the prefs.prop from
F:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\The Walking Dead\Pack\WalkingDead104

I do not have TWD prefs.prop in Documents but only in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\The Walking Dead\Pack\WalkingDead104
That was specific to kira935's situation.
I need the support tool results to give you the best fitting advice, but that's a good first sign.
There might be more though, and if unfixed it might break your savegames even further.

You need to upload the support tool results (TWD_support_data_pc.zip) so i can properly assess the situation.

I have a similar problem. I had finished ep 4 and when I started the game from Steam to play ep 5 it crashed. I quit Steam and started it again, but now all my settings are gone together with my saves. I have located the prefs.prob file but it seems like there is only one. I have a copy of my save files (and the prefs.prob file) on my desktop (which I think can be seen in the support tool result I'm attaching). I created this copy after the crash.

The crash corrupted the prefs.prop. Unless you have a backup from before the crash it can not be restored.

Hello, I'm having the same problem, wrong choices are being transferred into Ep.5, and as soon as I start it, "Stats" section disappears from Ep.4. When I try to rewind Ep.4 it gives me only a few of the first chapters to choose, the latest being "The River Street", but when I rewind to it, it doesn't play that particular chapter but plays the final sequence with a radio and a bite. Replaying that final sequence and even making different choices doesn't affect the problem with Ep.5, I still keep getting the same results and Ep.4 Stats get reset.
I tried following the instructions you provided, but I don't have WalkingDead104 folder, only WalkingDead106 and it doesn't have prefs.prop file.

Actually you do have such a folder. I am a bit worried because you rewound. I hope that didn't break it.
You can navigate to the folders below by starting Finder, and selecting "Go/Go to Folder..." from the menu or pressing CMD-SHIFT-G, and pasting the path into it.

I'm having a problem in the transition from episode 3 to episode 4 in season 1. towards the end of episode three the only audio I get is character dialogue, no background audio. When season 4 starts all I get is character audio. No other audio and black screen. I've downloaded the support tool and ran it. I've tried to follow the instructions but I'm not sure if I've done it correctly. I'm not tech savy so some of the lingo is over my head. There was something about sending you a name. This is the label on the folder where the result are in my PC: TWD_support_data_pc . I don't know if this is what I'm suppose to send to see what the problem is. let me know. bought the game at a gaming store. It's on a DVD ROM, not downloaded from steam.

Hi, I'm having a similar problem to everyone here. I have gotten everyone to join me on episode 4 to help get Clementine but when I started episode 5, I only had Kenny to help me. That support tool you told us to use started finding the Walking Dead Season 2 folders as well so I hope they don't become a bother for you when you search for the problem. Also I wanted to point out that this is on a Mac even though that probably won't help much.

Hi, I'm having a similar problem. I had everyone, but when I start ep 5 I'm missing Ben. Unfortunately, when I try and rewind episode 4, the farthest it lets me rewind with is chapter 2 (River street), when I know it was letting me go to the later chapters before I started episode 5. I'd really like to not have to replay all that again if possible.

Please help. I have the CD-version of the walking dead season 1, when i finished episode 4 and started episode 5, it shows only a black screen with no cursor. I can see the subtitles and the text when i press esc. But only black screen with no cursor even if i go to the menu. The menu text shows white but nothing else is on the screen. Can you please clarify if you can hear the game sound and character voices in the background? If so, please try starting the game again, and when you see the blank/black screen, please try switching the game to Windowed Mode using the shortcut (Alt+Enter for PC, Command+F for Mac) and see if you are then able to see the game correctly. If so, please then try changing the game's resolution and/or graphics settings to a lower setting, and click Apply. Then try switching back to Full Screen Mode by using the same shortcut, and your issue should then be resolved.
I don't know if people are still talking in this discussion but I need some help. I have the same problem, I have finished episode 3 and when I go on episode 4 it goes all black and all I can see is the mouse. I have moved the prefs.prop to my desktop. (I dragged it from the packs/default) but I still have the black screen. I have a mac too. Please help I really love the walking dead and I don't want it to be ruined.
