Feels too much like spin Jennifer. I applaud your honesty in acknowledging that Telltale has changed. But I don't have to like that they chose this direction which is less customer-friendly than before. I can buy licensed games and stuff from any number of megacorps but the thing that was special about Telltale Games was that they were not like the stuffed a-hats at EA or other places. Maybe a new developer will see this as an opportunity to be the next Telltale...
Note that I'm not a member of the Telltale staff (I just volunteer my free time to help around the forum), so don't take my post as an officia… morel update.
I was just trying to spread a little light on the situation based on what I've read in interviews and on personal (non-Telltale related) experience with non-disclosure agreements from large corporations.
Sadly, legal red tape is the nature of the beast when dealing with large corporations. It's just part and parcel with working with larger licenses. You have to remember that in the early days their licenses came from creators who owned their own work (Jeff Smith owns the Bone license, Steve Purcell owns the Sam & Max license, The Brothers Chaps own the Homestar Runner license, etc). So, those licensors gave Telltale more freedom with what they could do with fans, since the creators owned the properties outright. That kind of freedom just isn't possible when dealing with licenses owne… [view original content]
Fair enough, but you gotta admit, if you look at this thread from an objective perspective, people's rage is so hardcore it's riveting and funny, in a terrifying way.... I wanna grab some popcorn and just fiddle while it burns, you know? But, deep down, that's just because I'm pissed and disappointed with TTG, and the way I deal with my anger is to embrace the schadenfreude that I feel as I watch them face this mighty shitstorm... =/
And, seriously, I think TTG's lack of proactive communication has created a monster of sorts as fans are now so angry that they're just lashing out. Trust me, I have raged about them and resolved to never buy their games early again in my own moments of anguish...
That's what my post was... just me raging in a really backwards way. Not meant to be pejorative at all. I personally have no problems with thinking of myself as a nerd, and I do nerdrage about 1st world problems often (which this really is, if you guys would step back from your rage for a moment... this is a f*cking 1st world problem and it doesn't mean shit!, so learn to laugh at yourselves a bit and realize that you are nerds who care about a game a whole helluva lot and you are raging! lol...
TL;DR -- People's reactions remind me of movie scenes like the end from the original Planet of the Apes (1968)... I'm so pissed, that I can't help but laugh as other people howl in anger:
I think the second episode will be released next week. Last time the Classification page has rated the episode just 5 days before the game was released. Anyway this is good news because this means the second episode is ready. Telltale is now probably waiting to receive confirmation from the consoles before they anounce the release dates.
It's not spin if she doesn't work for the company, unless she has some kind of psychotic devotion to Telltale bordering on religious fervor. She's merely speculating on the situation intelligently and with some historical perspective. I was going to do the same a few days ago, hitting all the same points about the older licenses belonging to single owners versus the large corporations they're now working with. But I was too lazy, so thanks Jennifer!

Some of the rumors said that TWD and TWAU episodes will be released periodically every month. TDW 2S1E was released on december 17 so MAYBE TWAU will be released on January 17 (thats my bithday). TWD february 17 and so on. Maybe they waited so long so they can prepare everything for periodical releases. Seems logical.
I'm assuming they delayed it because they didn't want WD and TWAU getting released at the same time. Unfortunately WD is more popular than TWAU and the game would simply get overshadowed by the other one if they did so.
Telltale works on their episodes right up to the moment they are submitted to their distribution partners (which is right up to the day of release for the computer versions), so the fact that they are still working on the game shouldn't be taken as a sign that the game won't come out soon. Quite the contrary, the fact that the episode has been submitted and is now rated by a classification agency is a good sign that it will be coming shortly.
I know everyone has been guessing but has anyone heard any real info? prolly not i mean i am curious as to what telltale is doing a friend of mine was talking about making us wait was building up suspense but i think what 2 months is pretty long for that LOL anyways i'm hoping we here some good news soon

Complaining about downvoting is one of the silliest things on this entire forum especially when multiple posters come up saying 'lol at you gu… moreys downvoting me'. It doesn't matter if someone disagrees or dislikes your post. What matters is what's in the content of your post and how actual good the content is. That's what should contribute to discussion; not someone putting an extra number to your thumbs up or thumbs down button.
When there's actual, concrete news, they'll let us know.
No, they won't. They're contractually prohibited from talking to us until the release is mere days away.
I don't want "acceptable" - I want something that is of genuine quality.
Sorry, are you talking about the game or the customer service? Because it sound like you're talking about the game. We're all mostly talking about the other thing, and it hasn't risen to the level of "acceptable" much less "genuine quality."
If this was such a concern among buyers though, why not then wait until all of the episodes were released before purchasing the game?
The prior experience of receiving timely episodes skewed our expectations.
Telltale never made a guarantee that we'd see the episodes in a reasonable time.
You're allowed to expect things that haven't been flat-out guaranteed. Most online shooters, for example, don't guarantee that they won't shut the servers down a week after launch. Nevertheless, those servers tend to keep going for a long time. Also, any sentence which claims that something reasonable wasn't guaranteed, it comes across as a hostile "haha, fooled you, sucker!"
Of course satisfying the customers should be a priority for Telltale. However, my satisfaction comes from playing a good game, which is exact… morely what they deliver. The delivery may not be a speedy one, but it's something that takes time anyhow. The company shouldn't be expected to keep us up to date on every little thing. When there's actual, concrete news, they'll let us know.
I suppose that's where you and I differ. I don't want "acceptable" - I want something that is of genuine quality. If that takes more time that far exceeds reasonable, so be it. That said, I do admit that 2 years is a bit of stretch (and a tad bit of an overestimation, really). If this was such a concern among buyers though, why not then wait until all of the episodes were released before purchasing the game? Or, at the very least, buying the episodes separately instead of a season pass if the time frame between the episodes bothers you (and I mean that generally… [view original content]

I sure hope there's a "Previously On TWAU" before Ep 2... It's been so long I don't remember anything that happened. 3 months is WAY too long between episodes...and still no word on how much longer.
i don't even remember what happened in TWAU now, was there a murder, and a detective or something like that, and a bald guy with a beard, and something to do with fairy tales? and the ginger guy did it, and we all figured it out....... and then they had to write a new story???
I hear ya. For me, I start to lose track after about six weeks. I played through Ep1 again earlier this week, and it felt almost like new. Although, some of it may actually have been new to me; I'm not certain I made all the same decisions.

Because they wanted time to build excitement for TWD: Episode 1. That's my guess at least.
There's a lot of speculation on here that this must have been caused by some development issue, but I think it's much more likely that they're just working on being able to have an episode for one series releasing every month.

There has been a update on the steam database http://steamdb.info/app/250320/#section_history so things could be happening soon.
We can only hope, but I'm not holding my breath.

This and the Australian game rating seem to be a good sign.
Thx to those news, i am regaining my hope for episode 2.

Sorry, But the last we have heard from Puzzlebox is that th developers are still working on it. So I don't think, that this month is likely.
Looks like it's time to call the greatest detective in the world to find out what's going on in telltale....Hey, Lee! get your ass back here!
This is a job for Hector.
Well, if it doesn't show up next week I for one will bring this matter to a user review. After all it's those who matter the most.

They have closed all the other discussions related to release dates or delays....MAYBE that's a sign or something? I said MAYBE....
Sadly it's not. Those are simply the mods who direct all the attention to this thread, rather than having multiple ones at the same time.
I don't think so , i'm pretty sure that if they had the game ready they would have released it a month ago ,
This time gap gives them a really bad press which is very unfortunate and disappointing considering their great break though with TWD.
feel like an idiot for buying it so early
I'm upvoting you

If they don't release episode 2 this month they're going to have some serious 'splaining to do.
Why did they release episode 1 so early in this case ?
Oh, but they will.
Is there absolutely no change we'll be seeing a weekend update?
probably not. I'm hoping for early next week! *for the game release. hoping it's not just another update.
Aw that sucks, I'm sure we'll get an update this coming weak at least (:
i was really hoping for an update ((

I WANT NEWS
Me too;)
Maybe by the end of this month news will appear:DDD
Or in the middle...who knows:D
Couldn't agree more, I'd like an update too.
We've all put money on the table and we'd like to know what is going on.

I dont know, maybe TTG from Mars or something? Jesus, is that so hard to say when we should expect new episode?
They just don't give a damn shit about their loyal fans.
The complete lack of information is what's problematic.
If TTG wants to take their time making a good episode, that's perfectly fine.
The complete silence isn't.
To me, communication is an important part of customer service.
