Ok...Ive found the meaning of one of them. Cant remember the rest....poor Bigby ;-( https://www.keen.com/documents/works/articles/tarot/3-of-swords-tarot-card.asp
I liked that when Bigby pulls the Three of swords (swords piercing a heart) he says that this one is spot on (or something like that). He is in love with Snow !
By the way, in episode 1 I had the third tarot card, but it's not in my inventory anymore in ep2, where has it gone ?
The cards this episode were:
1) The Three of Swords, which signifies abandonment, loneliness, sadness, guilt, betrayal, etc. As it's the first card, this possibly relates to Bigby thinking that Snow was dead, and his subsequent actions.
2) The Moon, which signifies uncertainty and change. This relates to Bigby's present, and shows he's unsure of where he stands.
3) The Hermit signifies solitude. As this relates to Bigby's future, it may be that Bigby will choose or be forced to continue the investigation alone. Perhaps Snow will be promoted to Deputy Mayor in Episode 3, making her Bigby's direct superior and making them more distant from each other?
Thank you for the Tarot card information. I really know nothing about the practice.
Just one more thing though, doesn't Bigby say something like "Hopefully you find who your looking for." With regards to "The Hermit" card? I thought it was a card that was used for "searching". Honestly I don't know a thing about them though.
I tought that the heart was about the conversation he had with snow - I'm not yours to loose part, I guess he kinda wished she wouldn't way that? Second one - lies/deception, Snow being alive, Crane and so on.
First ep second card - Faith and her killer, third card Lawrence?
It seems I'm going to have to look more into Tarot cards, or just have it explained more to me. We do know that they have been confiscated from Jack, but the general rule of Tarots I'm not sure about. The "Hermit" maybe Bigby.... it maybe Gren since he seems to be an honest to goodness Hermit according to the "Book of Fables" extras. Or it maybe something else entirely, although I doubt it's Lawrence since the card is there whether you had saved him or not.
I don't really know that much about them myself, but it's nothing that a little research won't fix.
Also, this reminds me. Bigby mentioned that Jack brought the Tarot cards back from Appalachia. In the comic there's a flashback story in which Jack joins the American Civil War on the side of the South, wins a card game with the devil (who takes the form of a mysterious, wizened old black man in the swampland bayous), and obtains his magical sack of holding. Could it be that the Tarot cards were from that sack?
Thanks everyone :-)
The three of swords is one of the most literal cards in the deck, at least in a Rider-Waite deck. Heartbreak. I absolutely agree with the thought that this represents Bigby's feelings at the beginning of the episode, when he thought Snow was dead.
The moon is something hidden or concealed. Things are not what they seem. Personally, I thought that aside from the mystery aspect of the entire story, that this one may relate directly to TJ's story, and/or to the glamour on Lily.
The Hermit's a little more vague. It's generally about introspection, analysis. Looking inward for answers to problems. It signals a time for withdrawal, going at it alone, with enlightenment as a pay off. Sometimes the Hermit can represent a mature or wise person who is involved in a situation.
One thing that I started to think about was the fact that these three card readings seem to neatly wrap up the storyline of each episode, so far. I also agree with Kaihu, we can't forget that Jack was mentioned in connection with the cards. I also keep thinking about the fact that in both episodes they are on Crane's desk.
I did feel pretty awful for Bigby when he pretty much confesses his love for Snow, and she trows it back in his face "Im not yours to lose..." his face...poor guy! lol Well done telltale for making me care for a couple of animated characters!
Poor Snow and Bigby. Theirs is a twisty turny road.
Possibly but Jack loses that sack and all that was in it. "Yippty yak get in my sack". Or whatever the spell was lol.
It may simple be from another adventure of Jack's since he seems to wander away and cause problems all the time.
haha yeah before that point i was trying to warn her and keep her save, but I guess this is TellTale's way of showing that she wants to be independent and take a stand. Kinda threw me back when she said it, but it was more in an outburst of frustration than anything else I think. Let's not forget, she does definitely care for Bigby, when she tells him to be careful and such
"Just what the fuck is this supposed to mean..."
Thank you for the information.
I know....still, that shoulder slump... ;-) lol
Are the three swords piercing a heart indicating a three way love triangle? Three people - Represented by the the swords. And the heart representing Snow.
So to me that's...
I know nothing about tarot cards but there will most definitely be some kind of cryptic link.
The Tarot cards are on Crane's desk. They have several meanings, of course it ends up being that one's loss is the other's gain. You have several options of what to tell Crane. One of them is This doesn't change anything.
Those are the ones for episode 2 with the best possible interpretation for Bigby and Crane
