i repeat, i spoke to microsoft this morning they said it was telltales screw up. that is exactly what colmolasses said "both companies pointing the finger at each other" and i agree with it.
I find it funny how the people who have backed the game before its out are the ones who are sitting here with there finger up there arse, while the come and go people are able to play. over 8 hours we have been waiting and we are no further forward.
I defended them and I still think people are over-reacting by demanding refunds and wanting to murder Telltale, but 8 hours is a bit too long now. Sort it out so we can play, please!

Patience is a virtue. This matter isn't Telltale's fault and it will hopefully be resolved soon on Microsoft's end. The title didn't cost $60 (which, if it keeps up the quality of the writing, gameplay, and characters would be worth that amount coin) and while I'm sure the people who are being obnoxiously rude or continue to complain have really important lives and things to do, we can all afford to wait for things to get ironed out. We know the game works and I've heard nothing about game breaking glitches plus the reviews have all been insanely positive. So I know it will be worth the wait.

There are none, its just TT with their BS. Trying to pretend its not just them. Something else similar happened with them with the walking dead. It's easy to blame MS but it's always happening to TT's games.
Ok so this is what I was told by Microsoft in regards to attempting to fix the issue at hand. It consisted of: redownloading your profile, clearing the system cache, deleting the market place system data, and rebooted your console. Unfortunately, none of this worked. However, it was stated the problem is known and should be addressed within a few days. And now we play the waiting game.
It's not Telltale games fault... Its a common error on the Xbox live market place for seasons passes to have a buggy launch. This is one of those scenarios. Telltale has tweeted that they have contacted Microsoft about the issue, and that Microsoft was working on a fix. I understand we waited quite a long time for this episode, and then its been delayed for us. But next time make sure you know what you're talking about before flipping your shit and making an account saying that to the company.
Let me get this straight, we have to pay a price for episodes 2-5. In doing so we get a discount on the rest of the episodes. However, the peo… moreple who didn't "back" or pre-order the rest of the episodes get it before we do? Thats just low. Even if it is an accident they should at least take it off the marketplace so others cannot play it as well. Very very low TellTale.....
This is beyond ridiculous. I couldn't care less about all their excuses and their "perfect storm" of bad things that have happened. The bottom… more line is TellTale is taking on too many projects and they cannot provide their existing titles with the service required by their customers. As much as I enjoyed Episode 1, I just wish I could get my money back now. I woke up this morning, fired up the 360 and bam, another screw up my TT. I have lost all confidence in this company. They clearly no longer have the capability to do this with a high level of quality. They got me here, but they'll never get another nickel from me.
Me too. I thought I was buying it the right way out of the game store. It showed a price of 4.99 and I thought, im safe I have a season pass and it says to get all of your episodes through the game's actual store, so I did it. Man I was wrong, kind of angers a guy after waiting so long for this and now I get charged another 4.99 for the system having an issue. frustrating! Guess I can play it now but, that's not the point.

Nothing.Even when staff says "Don't believe this 2-week rumor!" They have no timeframe or details to give....which only forces people to believe the 2-week rumor until otherwise updated.
Well, all I can do is wait. They already have my money. If they were to offer some kind of consideration (i.e. partial refund, discount on future product, SOMETHING!), I might stay a customer. But that does not seem the TT way. As it is, I will keep my credit card in my wallet with regards to future TT games.

Microsoft is at least stepping up, and if you purchase the 2nd Episode for the $4.99USD, all you have to do to get a refund is contact the accounts and billing operators at 1-800-4MYXBOX, as numerous people have done.

Appreciate you at least trying to drop in to let the community know the ball is still rolling. I'm sorry that everything you and the Telltale support staff are doing is so grossly under appreciated, but I hope that all of you at least know that those constantly complaining and being hateful, spreading rumors, and generally just providing the worst kind of "constructive feedback" make up what is certainly a small percentage of Telltale's customer/fan base.
Most of us are mature enough to recognize that things happen, sometimes unanticipated things, and that TWAU ongoing experience is worth waiting for. I do agree with some observations that any mistaken purchases made should be addressed and corrected once this matter has been resolved, but in the meantime I know this unfortunate issue will be fixed one way or another. In the meantime, please continue to stay more connected to the community. Really it's the best thing which can be done to counter the shortsightedness.
Well, it's regrettable things have not been ironed out as of yet (late evening my time). Still, getting in touch with Microsoft's CS confirms that they are, at least, still trying to root out the issue and resolve it. Again, despite Telltale forum "facts" to the contrary, they did once again confirm that it is an authentication issue on their end, hence the reason they are being rather easy going with refunds. So, at least those who made a mistaken purchase haven't really lost anything. In the meantime, raging and pointing fingers isn't going to solve this issue any faster, especially when you're pointing the aforementioned finger at the people who aren't even responsible for this predicament.
Is it possible to have telltale or Microsoft send a redeemable code to affected season pass holders on xbox live, that way everyone could play the game and your company could be seen as trying to help.
Also why has telltates facebook page has been frozen, it would be nice to have an official announcement or timeframe so that people can stop guessing the outcome
Like SmithMaster said, this is a Microsoft issue, not Telltale. I have had this issue with just about every game I have bought a season pass for in the last year (major releases and arcade releases alike). I think the issue has to do with timing of the release and/or the way Microsoft releases content. But Telltale is not to blame for the error.

So are we going to have to go through MS for a refund? Or can we work with TT games, I've had an enormous amount of trouble sorting the simplest things out with Xbox Live support in the past and would love to avoid them at all costs, even $5.
Considering the refunds they are offering as a "Mea Culpa" I'm willing to cut them some small slack. However it is rather frustrating that they didn't flag this issue before passing it through MS Q&A. Checking the game update for bugs is one thing, but checking something as crucial as the Season Pass would seem like a relative no brainer.
Telltale hasn't posted anything because there isn't much they can say that won't sound like repeating themselves. Right now this whole unfortunate issue is in MS's court. They are the ones that should be keeping the community up to date via the Xbox Support Forums and Twitter. Sadly, they aren't doing a great job thus far. Telltale can only standby for a progress update. Regardless, I still think patience is more productive than flaming or vitriol.

It's a MS issue, so Telltale wouldn't be able to offer refunds. Unfortunately you're going to have to go through MS Tier 1 Support. Sometimes you just get terrible representatives, but the two associates I've spoken to today were easy to speak with and were rather open and honest about the authentication issue and how they are processing any refunds for mistaken purchases. If you need to get your money back, I don't think it should become a quagmire, especially given that it's a small amount. Trying to get your refund for the Season Pass though? That's might encounter some problems (plus you're not helping Telltale by doing so...)

I assume that all that have registered will be getting an e-mail when this issue is resolved and it's ready to be downloaded ? Was looking forward to play ep 2 today (yeah 2 days late I know) but got utterly dissapointed with payscreens popping up even if season pass is owned...
First walking dead season 2 wouldn't work now I can't use my season pass for wolf among us. I think I'll start waiting for all the episodes to come out on disk like season 1 of walking dead did and rent it instead. Then if it doesn't work I'm not as disappointed and I'm not waisting as much of my money.
After recently finishing this dance with telltale it looks like its time to start all over again. First it's waiting god knows how long for season 2 of The Walking Dead to be available in my country (NZ) I now have to wait for this new issue on an entirely different game. Even worse this time I'm actually slightly out of pocket. Prepare for more weeks of half answers and just plain being ignored.
I'm far from one of those entitled sods that demands you make games for me, no I just believe that if you make a game it should be distributed cleanly and fairly. You guys need to really cull you publishing department and fill it with staff who can keep at the same level as your excellent game developers.
I agree with you. At least have the decency to deliver on your product once a customer has paid.
..and now MS is blaming TT:
"Trey: at 10:46:45
I understand what you mean, we have been receiving this kind of issue since yesterday and we've already communicated with the developer about this and they're already working on a resolution to this."
I asked for a refund, they are refunding my money because its going to be another 24 hours before they get it fixed apparently.

Yep, no change today. I cannot think of a word that adequately describes this, but disgraceful comes to mind. The folks at TT should certainly be ashamed of themselves. This should have been tested and worked out long before now.
Every product telltale has ever released has had some kind of quality control issue involved with it. They've made some good stuff over the past year or so, but attention to detail is definitely not Telltales strong suit. Lack of attention to detail is very prevalent in my generation (millennials or whatever it is they're calling us now), and the generation below mine pay ABSOLUTELY no attention to detail at all. So maybe its just Telltale have alot of 20-30 year olds working for them.

According from a poster in another forum who spoke to MS, we will not be getting it until the 6th now. What a joke.
Edit: To the person who gave me a thumbs down here's proof I'm not BS'ing, it's the top post on page 3

does anyone knowwhen this will be fixed
It is currently being looked at, and we hope for a resolution to be released soon. I apologize for any inconvenience caused by this.
What other games are having the same issues with DLC now?

I think telltalemike is telling us tall tales, bad P.R. Bro. But hey we've waited this long whats a little longer.
thanks

Why would they ruin the game for others because of a common seasons pass glitch??
Was not TT's fault. The Xbox Live Marketplace has had this glitch for a while now, TT has contacted Microsoft and they are working on a solution
Common season pass glitch on the xbox live marketplace preventing the download. Solution is being worked on

Someone at MS should be fired over this. What is happening is completely uncalled for.
