Actually, I heard that too. I thought nothing of it at first but now I'm actually scared we are going to see a walker Lee.

It is pretty dumb, i know it would be determant if Lee comes back as a Walker but how stupid it would be that Clementine shot Lee in the gut or something and then just walks away thinking 'close enough'. So why there would be this über dramatic choise if the out coming is just that idiotictwist?

He would just chill there until a living human being stumbles upon him.
Do you want to get tortured into seeing Lee as a Walker? Clementine shot and killed him. That's the sad truth of it. The fact you can say to Luke in the first Episode of Season Two that you killed him before he turned heavily implied Clem killed Lee.
And even if she missed, don't you think she would probably do it again? I know it would be painful, but to me, it's worse seeing her father-figure become one of them. Plus the screen blacked out as she shot you, I think that's a good sign to point out that you (as Lee) were dead. The breathing out was probably used just for cinematic purposes (I don't know a good example, but I know I've seen something like that happen before).
If Lee really isn't dead from that shot, I'm going to be genuinely annoyed at Telltale for copping out like that.

Lee will be a walker, or dead if season 1 Clem shot him
Lee will be saved by some people have the zombie cure (might be in the end of series ^^ Season 3, 4 ???)** if Clem didn't shoot him
Everybody love Lee, even the voice actor of Lee cried in Lee's death scense, but if we want him to return (for real), it might take a long time ^^
If he died and came back, or if Clem shot him, it doesn't matter. Know why? There's no way he can leave that room. And even if he could, there's no way in Hell he could trek from Atlanta all the way up North and find them.
With regards to the breathing, you should remember that Carley and Doug also give a death breath when they got shot in the head.

Unless of course you survive, but still I agree with you that she didn't take a breath. The in-game breath was the characters gasping, and my comment was referring to the fact that everyone probably gasped when that happened.

It's Lee's dying breath. She shot him and he heavily exhaled all the air in his lungs. She was looking when she shot and being at point blank range, I doubt it. She knows it's head or nothing and I think that Clem is smart enough to not miss.

On a serious note, when you are shot in the head, or even killed in any matter, your lungs release what is known as your last breath. Besides, even if Clemmy DID miss, Lee is dead because he is bitten. Unless he found some magic potion, he is dead. If you want to speculate any "dead" character being alive, look at Kenny. Both "death" scenes were way too shady.
