German Connection
So I don't think this is too important, but there is some evidence to back up Crane being real and not glamoured. To me, the book about Snow White you find in Room 207 looked to be in German, so I looked it up and the story is originally German. The tale of the Headless Horseman also comes from Germany, among other places.
Perhaps Crane can read German? I don't know ifother Fables can. Although I'm sure there is something to prove me wrong. (EX: All the Fables know all languages for some reason).

I actually think that the books are in german too(even if i've studied german for only 2 years).Maybe Crane has some German Origins?And if we are speaking about german,do you think Hans has something to do with it?I don't mean to be racist but I think he's name seems to be german.

It is German. I don't really understand Telltale's reasons for choosing that version either other than appearing a bit more ancient and mystical maybe (like the latin descriptions in the fairytale books). But I doubt there's a higher significance to it... Also, everyone knows the story of Snow White. You don't necessarily need to be able to read it.

The book had nice illustrations and that was probably what the killer was interested in. Just look at how he sticked post-it notes at the illustrations while he didn't encircle or highlight anything in the text. Most certainly didn't or couldn't read it.
They probably used the German version because it came from Grimm. I think the cover actually has "Grimms Marchen" printed on it? Anyway, Fables seem to sort of be purists when it comes to their stories. They're very old, after all. They've been in our world for centuries, and most are pretty modernized, but they still feel a connection to older things because of their roots.
Ichabod is from the American version of the headless horseman tale, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. But, it seems like several of the Fables speak other languages besides English too. Maybe just because they've had the time to learn them? I guess it's also possible that he doesn't speak German, maybe he was just obsessed with her "original" mundy story.
Besides the fact that he's a Fable and has lived for hundreds of years, Ichabod is a schoolteacher, so it's plausible he would be able to read German.
Most of the Fables have picked up various skills over their long lifetimes. Bigby is fluent in German for sure.

No, I don't expect everyone around the world to be able to tell the difference between dutch and german, but Pewdiepie is a f*cking Swede, he speaks a language from the same linguistic family and lives a stone throw away from both countries involved. It's like a Frenchman who couldn't tell the difference between spanish and italian.
Besides it doesn't take a high level of culture to know that Snow White is a Grimm tale (therefore from Germany... for God's sake I'm sure a huge lot of American teenagers know that just from the show "Grimm"), also gothic fonts are more often than not associated with the german language. So many clues and he can't even make an educated guess.
But what should I expect from a guy who didn't figure out before half the first episode that the characters were associated with fairy tales... He literally needed to hear Woody talk about Little Red Riding Hood at the bar (2 minutes away from the ending of ep1) to understand the allusions from Woody at their very first encounter about how he filled Bigby's belly with rocks before throwing him in the river !

The headless horseman is one of the most famous works in american literature and folklore.
Well, in a sense, Bigby is German. In the context of Snow White, he's definitely from Grimm's Märchen collection, although most of 'his' fable stories aren't from Germany (the three little pigs are English; and Aesop's Fables such as "The Boy who Cried Wolf" are ancient Greek).
