I think Crane is Mr. Smith and that he visited the prostitute on a regular basis. But that aside, someone is trying to frame him for the murder, no doubt about it.
One more thing, the wine bottle in room 207 is the same (brand) as the one Bufkin swiped from Crane's desk and was chugging on in episode 1. So was it Crane or someone else? It's very confusing at this point.
For the record, the Woodsman has cigarettes on him, and will smoke one if given the option when you're interrogating him. Not to mention there's Huff n' Puff machines in both the Trip Trap and the Pudding and Pie. I think Beauty's "I thought you were the only one who smoked that crap brand" line was an exaggeration, so it's reasonable to assume there's quite a few smokers in Fabletown. Hell, considering Faith smokes in Episode 1, the cigarette could have been Lily's.
Has someone given all the money to Nerissa? "little mermaid" and by all I mean the good pack of cash that you can take from the Dwiddle Dum, Dee, wathevs.
Now, if Crane didn't do it, and since the comics say he left town due to the sexual allegations against him, why wasn't he present at the murd… moreer?
I can think of 3 possibilities: a. he'd already left, b. his wine was spiked, or c. he hadn't yet arrived.
One interesting thing that might be useful later in the game is the ability to examine those photos a bit more closely. We know Lily's glamour wasn't perfect, so we want to see if the glamour in the photo is equally imperfect. The brooch and the the buttons can be ruled out, as she's dressed up in an actual costume, but the track marks in her leg should be visible, if we can see it.
We don't actually know for certain, and it is highly unlikely, that the last photo was taken on the day of the murder. It may have been that Crane was supposed to find that envelope, not Bigby, for the purpose of blackmail, and it is unconnected with the murders.
Has someone given all the money to Nerissa? "little mermaid" and by all I mean the good pack of cash that you can take from the Dwiddle Dum, Dee, wathevs.
A few ideas: I think that Crane might be the employer of dee and dum. I noticed that he gets rather angry when he realizes that bluebeard has already begun the interrogation in his absence and he takes care to make sure no one is supposed to harm the suspect. And no matter how you tread dee, he won´t ever name his employer, even though he is stupid enough to tell you a lot of other things, even about his brother. This would make sense if his employer is standing right behind you during the whole scene and staring at him. But this would mean the first victim stole something from Ichabod before she was killed.
And another thing: Ichabod´s disgust at hearing that the dead snow was a troll. I don´t think he was just frightened at that moment, maybe he really didn´t know who the girl was? This could mean he either didn´t order a specific girl but simply a girl glamoured to look like snow - which would clash with georgies statement that the girls took care of their appointments themselves - or the girls, knowing the one sent to him would be glamoured anyway, switched places. Or he didn´t order the girl this time at all, which would explain why he wasn´t in Room 207 himself when she was murdered.
Yup you where correct, I replayed that chapter yesterday cause I was curious and found it out. Gave all the cash to the little Mermaid and in the preview for the next episode Gerogie said "she - Nerissa - has taken a liking to yeh"
And another thing that hasn´t been mentioned here before: What about beauty? I can´t really put my finger on it, but her behaviour seems.. strange, shifty somehow. First, she tries her best to keep you from opening Room 207. Once you open it anyway, she stands beside you during the entire investigation and fawningly comments how incredibly clever you are and how everything fits together so well - while in reality, everything fits together *TOO *well and ichabod is obviously framed for the murder. And of course, from a storytelling point of view, the "mysterious, beautiful woman" who knows more than she lets on is THE classic film noir trope - and who could resist casting the one fable in this role that is even named "Beauty".
I thought it was amusing how she was with you in that room investigation, to be honest I giggled. It was as if she was watching a Telenovela or something.
Or are you suggesting that is is acting suspicious? I Doubt it really, I think Beauty is a bro or in this case a sis.

In my version of playing she tried to let me in but she couldn't because the key didn't work. The only reason she didn't want to let you in is in case she was fired which is totally understandable, yet she tried to help anyway.
I mean the whole Tweedles thing is a bit odd but I don't see her betraying Bigby or anything.

So you do really believe her story? To make ends meet she had to borrow money from the "crooked man" and in repayment she has to do the horrible, ignoble work of a... seedy hotel manager? To me, that sounds strange. I mean, the "crooked man" seems to be some kind of fable mobster. If he went to the trouble of making "beauty", of all fables, indebted to him, why would he just use her as a hotel manager? To me, that doesn´t sound right. I´m not saying she is the murderer, she certainly isn´t. But she´s hiding something.

Maybe she is just working to pay the debt? that's the impression that I got. I don't think she is bad, I just think she was embarrassed of someone catching her working on such a place.
As for Crane, well I do think that he Hired the brothers however I think that he did this because he feels that someone is trying to get him or something. And I am suspecting of Blue Beard now, maybe he schemed all of this just to get rid of Crane and get into power. That's my theory anyway.
Please TTG, keep working hard on episode 3. I cant wait!
Well yeah I do. I do think her story is quite iffy, but she did say she tried to go to her friends for help first.
Plus who even is the 'Crooked man' I haven't read the comics so if he's in it I wouldn't know, but he's the Tweedle's boss right?
Remember though, Fables don't have an education. If they didn't take their riches with them then they were pretty much stuck. So a hotel manager would be out of Beauty's league imo, plus she probably wanted to work away from Beast so he wouldn't find out? I guess.

when Bigby tells her to see him or Snow about future money issues, she says "I tried". Maybe she got turned away by Snow or just couldn't get through to either of them in time. Looks like we will be seeing the Crooked Man soon

Bluebeard just seems to have a hidden agenda, possibly just to get control of Fabletown or other things. I agree with your point about Beauty - doesn't look like she has a hidden agenda or anything. And it seems very probable that Crane is involved with the Tweedles, either as their employer or someone being controlled by their employer, with the latter being most likely for me.

hey guys just wanted to say thanks for the contributions and insights that you've provided, I really appreciate it. 61 Comments on one thread is massive and it's great that people appreciate this thread. Keep it up!
Not sure if anyone brought it up already but if you go through the closet first (and don't pick up the apple) the envelope with the pictures don't appear there. Instead they are hidden underneath the carpet next to the apple.

If you give her the money you find fifty seven dollars and some wrapped money. If you don't give her the money, you find the wrapped money AND the fifty seven dollars?
I am thinking Crane is the boss of both TweedleDee and Dum.
-In the car riding from the police department, Crane points the finger at the Woodsman but with Dee he tries to dismiss Bigby's suspicions. Plus Crane seems to get really nervous when Dee starts talking and then Dee looks really worried.
-Dee said Faith stole something from his employer and remember when Bigby went into Nerissa's room? Well he found a note to Faith from Lily and made a conclusion that they both had the same client, therefore we know it was Crane so he must have seen both of them at some point.
Why would Crane hire Dee and Dum when he has Bigby? Because he wants to keep it from Bigby so Dee and Dum can get any evidence first. Like someone took and broke into Lily's stuff. Maybe. Just what was it that Faith stole from Crane and could that have gotten her killed? Perhaps Crane did not do it himself but he got someone else to do it...Bluebeard? I still do not get why Bluebeard was there at the interrogation anyway and what Crane requested his help for. Also there's Faith donkeyskin coat that Dee must of been sent to achieve but never found it.
Faith was about ready to retire so once that happens...maybe my lips are sealed no longer applies since she would no longer work at Pudding & Pie? And Crane got concerned so maybe he is the mastermind behind all this afterall. In his bio description it does say he "always" has something to hide.
Small thing I noticed when replaying episode 2. Snow's perfume was originally (i think) supposed to be in the hotel room(207). You might notice it on the table near the book but it doesn't prompt a clickable response. It's very small but you can notice the "use this" sticker on it also.

Bufkin, I bet its him. He probably hates his boss as much as we do. Has the wine, took the picture of his boss hence the angle and the room was on the second floor and he can fly also I bet snow knew of cranes desires. She probably sets up the meetings in ep1. What if its snow? She wants to change everything right? Best bet imo. But what do I know

It's noon after the night.
Most likely the Tweedles' employer has dirt on Crane.
I think Crane is Mr. Smith and that he visited the prostitute on a regular basis. But that aside, someone is trying to frame him for the murder, no doubt about it.

Which comics? also what happened to red riding hood?
I sure did once. Took the tax, stole from Georgie as well when I did it.
How can you steal from Georgie?
Head to the safe, look in, take the money.

good points, didn't know you could see both of the Tweedles. There's got to be a connection between Crane and the Tweedles
when Bigby tells her to see him or Snow about future money issues, she says "I tried". Maybe she got turned away by Snow or just couldn't get through to either of them in time. Looks like we will be seeing the Crooked Man soon

Glad to help

Yeah, they appear wherever you look lastly I think.
They are always in the last place you look. The most logical last place is the book though.

Interesting, I didn't catch that!
It got pointed out on a playthrough I watched (Two Best Friends Play - very funny youtubers) but I didn't notice it at all
