When I saw people saying that, as if it was an "unfinished, overpriced game" I burst out laughing. They really need to look this up so they're well informed about Telltale.
Amusing, isn't it?
What is also amusing that such misconception would be greatly reduced if people started to properly read store pages before purchasing (impulse buying at its finest.)
IKR? and most of them dont even make any sense to me .-. if you know nothing of the minecraft spirit then don't try placing a review that half of them place
While it shouldn't be needed, Telltale really should clarify on the store page that you get all of the episodes as they release for the one price. Maybe saying season pass or something would do trick, though I assume people would still complain about episodic releases and there only being one episode. It's kind of bad really all of the negative 'reviews' saying you only get one episode and such, as they'll probably linger.
PS: By the way, to others, I wouldn't say it's a result of targeting the Minecraft audience. People have been the same with Tales from the Borderlands, I believe, and there are threads asking on the GoT forum if you get all of the episodes. So, it's a pretty common issue, though I imagine it's worse with Minecraft at the minute, particularly with it just being released.
TellTale games are realesed in the format of episodes, Minecraft Story Mode has 5 in total.
TellTale usually tries to launch every episod… moree every 2 months, but Job (a TellTale staff) said on an interview that they're trying to realese episodes faster.
If you bought the season pass you wont need to buy any other episodes you already own them all and you will be able to play once they're launched for your platform.
This way TellTale can add more impact to cliffhangers, let the fans speculate about the game and increase hype.
These reviews are kind of depressing. Glad most people seemed to also like the game. I was very pleasantly surprised by Story Mode considering how I care 0% about Minecraft otherwise. Still, this one was amusing:
I'm not going to lie when I say I was looking forward to this, I'm going to get a kick out of reading some of these and hearing kids whine about how this isn't Minecraft and whatnot. Let this be a lesson, never buy something without knowing what it is you're buying, people can be idiots sometimes.
I issued refund but it's likely that I will not get it due "playtime" ended up going over 2 hours limit on Steam.
Don't get me wrong, I just don't believe it was worth 20 euros entry fee, even though it also paid upcoming episodes.
The story so far was good but this entire "Minecraft" theme adds hardly anything to it. You would expect they would finally change their formula.
Also what's up with clunky interface. That five switches "puzzle" illustrated the problem well, selecting the right switch was hard. It's like a popular kid going through ego trip and believes that everything he does is great. Like the great Papyrus from Undertale.
This often happens companies that find sudden success, they get "lazy" or whatever would be a right word for it.
I understand if you don't like the game. It is not a game for everyone. But I don't think it is fair to call them lazy, because I do believe that Telltale put a lot of effort into it.

I am not "stupid as a brick" and I find this one of the worse Telltale games to date.
Storytelling, pacing and humour are all amiss, unle… moress you find "Once upon a time, I did a slow armpit fart" entertaining.
The problem was, who is the demographic? Nobody knew and the game shows.
I wouldnt worry about the bad reviews ans complaints. As you guys said, we go through this everytime a new project comes out and eventually people come around. Im more encouraged that so many people genuinely like it. Im downloading it today for my Xbox one, and Im more excited to hear that its actually good.
ITA, I see people use the "they're being lazy" thing so much, for tv shows too, when no one has any idea how much work goes into these projects. Much more work than it takes to criticize. If I worked my butt off on something and some fan who didnt like it breezily remarks that Im being lazy, I would be livid.

After reading people's reasons for rating the game negative I'm even more inclined to never let Steam reviews help decide whether or not I get a game on Steam.
Some of us actually have vague idea.
I have only one commercial game released so far on Steam due I take long breaks between my projects.
I got my refund but I will likely get this game again once it goes on sale.
On a demo video of the game, I saw someone say "This looks pretty cool", to which someone replied basically tearing the person who said it looked cool a new one o.O
The pacing issues first appear when you have to go find the pig and then the monsters come out of no where, you get saved, and suddenly you're talking about some deal and going to the Nether... Uh, we're not going to talk about what just happened at all? Just jumping right into this stuff even though I barely know you (Petra I mean).
Then right after that on the bridge you're surrounded again... how did they get behind us, where did they all come from, and how did they all know to coordinate this?? (I have played Minecraft and do understand that monsters spawn in darkness/night/caves but since this is a narrative focused game, it should elaborate more or show).
After the bridge you reunite with your friends, who apparently gave up looking for the pig and said good luck to you too since they went to the con. And they don't ask about any specifics about the deal (before or after) or what happened while you were gone. Plus, I was scratching my head at the readiness of our character to go along with Petra, this character we barely know, and do some shady deal. If we're friends or something, shouldn't that have been explained?
And the last thing I can think of is the awkward rivalry between you and Lukas and then it gets blown out of proportion with Lukas and Axel. Before you ever meet Lukas you're told he's a jerk just like the rest of the Ocelots, to contrast this though it's not needed Petra even tells you a couple times that he's a good guy. But not once did he ever act like a jerk, he was the nicest guy in the whole episode, so why do we not like him? And why does Axel suddenly get bent out of shape with him later despite Lukas doing absolutely nothing to him, this is Kenny/Arvo all over again.
That's what's messed up with the pacing, when questions need to be asked they aren't, when answers need to be there, they aren't, and when things just don't make sense, they start making less sense.
CaptainSparklez seem to like it, and he is one of the most famous Minecraft YouTubers ever (very good at PvP, made amazing videos like Fallen Kingdom and Take Back the Night).
One of the members of the Yogscast (creators of videos like "Screw the Nether" and "How Do I Craft This Again?"), Hannah, is also playing it and seems to like it so far too.
They are still uploading their videos though (they upload in an episodic manner).

Hello Guys, I am interested to buy this game but I have some questions: I don't if this is the correct discussion if it isn't I'm sorry. If I buy this game on steam I'll have all episodes when they will exit or I have just the one episode?I remember the cost of it on steam is 23 euros. Thank you.
From time to time new episodes will release and because you have paid 23 euros to the game Steam itself will automatically download the new episode once it releases.

I think I'll buy it tomorrow

Martyn (InTheLittleWood, also known as YOGSCAST Martyn) teamed up with a few members of the Yogscast for these.
"Martyn has teamed up with with Sparkles, Ciaran, Lewis and Simon to make a new Minecraft Parody song - How Do I Craft this Again?", on the description of How Do I Craft This Again?
"To celebrate Martyn Littlewood joining us at YogTowers, here's a specially made song and video featuring the vocal talents of Martyn, Lewis and Simon, mixed by Sparkles* and animated by Ciaran!", on the description of Screw The Nether.
Both videos were uploaded by Lewis and Simon.
And I just saw that Martyn uploaded his playthrough of Minecraft Story Mode too!
I expected stuff like this. Most people just think that because of a name it's the same. It's kind of the assumption people make when they see the Walking Dead attached to something that Daryl would be there.
I enjoyed, albeit less than some of the other recent starter episodes.

clearly no one reads the giant story mode right after minecraft lol

To be honest, naming is somewhat inconvenient in this one.
They make people believe that it's a story mode.
These reviews are just laughable.
These stupid people have exceeded my expectations.
After reading people's reasons for rating the game negative I'm even more inclined to never let Steam reviews help decide whether or not I get a game on Steam.
Can you tell me the name of your game please, i'm trying to find some new stuff to play lately.
I'm dead.
I can't tell what's more stupid. These comments by people who can't research a game or all the dumbasses on Youtube shitting on it for stupid reasons.
I assume it's Minecraft YouTubers shitting on it?
A mix of them, and people who despise Minecraft.
On a demo video of the game, I saw someone say "This looks pretty cool", to which someone replied basically tearing the person who said it looked cool a new one o.O
I can actually answer that.
