No clem no buy

I love telltale Games, and I will continue to purchase their games until they stop making them. With that said ive noticed a lot of threads talking about how clementine is a horrible protagonist etc. What a load of nonsense!

Regardless of what anyone says clementine is one of the greatest protagonists ive ever taken control of and while I'll purchase other telltale Games, if clementine doesn't return in season 3 I doubt I'll make a purchase. Clementine is to telltales walking dead, as Rick is to the comics and TV show. NO CLEM = NO BUY

  • What HE said!!!

  • IM AGREE!!!!!!

  • If you don't buy a game because one character isn't in it, you don't like the game.

    You like the character.

  • Just like what bigdogg said, you dont like The Walking Dead if you ONLY like it for Clementine.

  • Incorrect, I love the walking dead universe. The playable character in season 1 was Lee and I loved playing that, so how can you say I only love the character? Hell 400 days was alright. But even in season 1 it was clear that clementine was the main character. You can say what you wanna say but the truth is the game wouldnt be the same without clementine. The comic/TV series also wouldn't be the same without Rick

On that note I reiterate. NO CLEM = NO BUY

  • Clementine is weak protagonist, she is just blank. But the game won't be same without her. I'd like to play as Clementine, but only if she will be adult. But this not going to happen, because of the comics. And i'm 100% sure she is going to appear in S3, playable or not.

  • I loved both seasons but absolutely hated playing as clementine. I have no issue with her appearing in season 3 but absolutely do not want to play as her again.

  • I thought Clementine was a really interesting character, but there is no way I would just stop playing if she wasn't included. Every WD game i've played has been a high standard and some of the 400 days stuff was season 1 like quality to me. I have a feeling that most of the people saying it will continue to play future games and are just saying it out of anger. Only the really die hard Clementine fanatics would stop playing.

  • in season 3 she will be only 12 or 13 :\

  • They could do two stories ( clem and someone new ) at the same time then they meet up like tftb

  • I've seen this suggested and it's certainly preferable to pure Clem.

For me, I'd love to start the new season with a character who I see as an extension of myself. I want to feel like I'm living through these events and I want to go on a real journey as this person over the season. A complete blank slate who I can imprint my own personality on.

That's the reason I love Season 1 so much. Lee was that avatar. Season 2 was an amazing story and well acted etc, but I was constantly trying to think what I would do if I was a tiny little girl. Not really something I spend much of my time doing or particularly enjoy.

  • I'm sick of people willing to toss out an entire game for one character

  • Yeah, I don't understand the logic either. I thought Kenny had died in S1 Ep 5 and was devastated since he was my favorite character next to Lee and Clem, but that didn't stop me from getting S2 (and finding out he was alive made me happy of course).

  • Clem is the only thing that makes the game good at this point in the butchered trash that is Telltale's TWD. I buy good games because I like good games. So if the only thing that makes the game good were to be left out then my money would be better spent somewhere else.

Don't get me wrong, Clementine is one of my favorite video game characters, but her story is over.

  • Well said.

  • I want her to continue to be in telltales TWD, until her story has had a real conclusion. At this point, we don't know her fate, regardless of if she is alone, or with Kenny or Jane. I'd like to see her story conclude with her finally in a safe, permanent place or her going down in a blaze of zombie killing, sacrificing herself for others. I think both endings to her story would be plausible, considering how much Clem already sacrifices for those she cares about. Honestly, a TTG Walking Dead game without Clem would need a rebrand or something, unless there'll be something linking S1 - S2 with S3. Otherwise I don't see the point in calling it "Season 3."

Metal gear solid 2 sucked without playing as snake. Gears of war wouldn't be the same without Marcus. Kane and lynch wouldn't work without the two. Hitman wouldn't work without agent 47. I could go on...

  • I loved Clementine as a character. I wish season two had focused on her more. That said, I wouldnt mind following a new character/storyline. Thats what I thought we would get, at least in part, with the 400 days group.

My opinion shouldn't make a difference to anyone. If you want a new protagonist that's fine, if you'll continue to play the games that's fine. Its just my opinion. For all of you saying that it's unusual to care about one character so much, not at all. I think clementine is central to the story just like Rick is central to the comic. I'm not saying the game would suck without her I'm just pointing out that I wouldn't like it as much. My opinion can't be wrong because an opinion isn't based on fact. I'm not trying to convince anyone NOT to buy it, merely stating that without her I won't buy it

    NO CLEM = NO BUY

  • I think thats a bit harsh. Ruined?

  • This comment sums it all up completely. I could invest interest in anothee protagonist if clem had never been introduced. Telltales walking dead IS clems story. As you point out without her it just wouldn't be the same story. Therefore calling it season 3 would be pointless. It would be like playing season 2 of the Wolf among us and Bigby not being the protagonist lol

I want her to continue to be in telltales TWD, until her story has had a real conclusion. At this point, we don't know her fate, regardless

  • would be better spent somewhere else.

If you're into a whole series, in fact if you only like telltale for Clementine, ONE character, you should probably adjust how you rate and enjoy games. It's not an accurate method to pick favorite games...

Clem is the only thing that makes the game good at this point in the butchered trash that is Telltale's TWD. I buy good games because I like

  • I dont see why they would need to rebrand it. It's The Walking Dead, not Clementine's Tale.

  • Hitman wouldn't work without Agent 47

Season 2 wasn't that good imo and Clementine was part of the reason. Playing as a little girl in something as serious as TWD just feels odd. It forced the writers to have to make her a monotone drone that does everything for a group of idiots just to cope with that. With that said I never want to play as her again

The walking dead comic/ TV series could continue without Rick if he was killed but it wouldn't be the same, would it? I don't think it would anyway. That's the point I'm making. The walking dead universe is great and while it's not entirely centered round just one character it's clear that Rick is the main character, just like how clementine is the main character of telltales. As I've pointed out I'm not trying to convince people not to buy season 3 Im just saying I wouldn't enjoy it nearly as much without clementine as the protagonist therefore that wouldn't make me want to purchase it.

  • The reason why your comment is wrong is because clementine was also used in season 1 at moments where an adult was too big to fit into spaces etc. I don't see a problem with that? The idea of playing as an 11 year old girl in the middle of such a harsh world where humans are becoming more dangerous than walkers. Honestly don't see how anyone doesn't eat that up. I thought it was exilerating!

  • Retrospectively metal gear solid 2 had a good story but even to this day I have always been disappointed at the fact that we had to take control of such a stale and boring character (raiden) while snake was a supporting character. I would definitely have preferred playing as snake over raiden!

The point I'm making is not that season 3 couldn't be good for others without clem my point is that I wouldn't enjoy it half as much if she wasn't the protagonist. I dunno if I could watch walking dead if Rick died..

  • Your opinion lacks a stable standing point. You contradict yourself, first of all.

I'm not saying the game would suck without her

And then you continue to state

    NO CLEM = NO BUY

Secondly, you state that you think Clementine is central to the story, like Rick is to the comic. I'm so sure the comic book is 3rd person omniscient, meaning that it's a third person game where you learn the emotions of more than one character. The Walking Dead game is 1st person, you are the main character, you are in the story. The comics simply can't have one main character if they reveal the emotions of more than one in the same issue or season. You can't compare the 2, it would make for a comparison that will never be stabilized, as one of them literally tells you about 8+ characters at points and the other will leave you with the complete knowledge of emotions of characters. What I am saying is you have many faults in your opinionated paragraph(?) and that is what makes your opinion "wrong".
