S2 Ep5: If you chose Kenny, what choice did you make at the end and why?

edited November 2015 in The Walking Dead

After choosing Kenny over Jane, did you either stay in Wellington or leave with Kenny? I personally left with Kenny since he's one of my favorite characters. He's been there since S1 and I've always tried to make every positive interaction with him as possible.. Plus, I legit thought Jane had done something to the baby e.g. drop it in the snow... I couldn't bring myself to just leave Kenny like that, so I just left with him. So, what choice did you make (and only 20.5% of players left with him? Really?)? Also, do you think this is the start of something where our choices REALLY matter? S3 is going to be, in my opinion, VASTLY depending on which of the many different endings you could get, ranging from staying in Wellington or killing both Kenny AND Jane.

EDIT: My mistake. 20.5% of players chose Kenny over Jane, not left Wellington with Kenny.

  • I chose to stay with Kenny, after all that we've been through, I'm not losing him again. Plus, having Clem and AJ around seems to keep him relatively sane and gives him hope, without them, I'm afraid of what might happen to him.

  • Stayed with him. Kenny was always my favorite and after almost shooting him I decided I was going to stick it out with Kenny until the end.

  • Yeah, that's partly why I went with him as well. People like Mike and Bonnie just don't understand that he's been through a lot and they just keep pushing him to his breaking point.

  • I left him because i was a bit scared of him. If he snapped at Clem in the future then that wouldnt have ended well at all

I stuck with him mainly because of how willing he was to be all alone in order for AJ and Clem to be safe. I figured we were an all or nothing deal, and I just couldn't leave him behind.

  • I always end up shooting Kenny (after letting him stab Jane), but if we weren't given the option to let Kenny and Jane both die, then I'd almost certainly choose to stick with Kenny. My Clem is nothing if not loyal to her group. Even if that group consists only of her, a crazy man, and a baby.

  • I went into Wellington :( it was so hard for me because Kenny's always been my favourite and I'll likely never see him again, he's a survivor though, he won't give up.

I didn't want everything they've been through to be for nothing.

  • I left with him, I'm not losing him, not again. No matter what, I'm staying by his side until the end. He's my bff and my favorite character. He's been there since day 1, and after all we've been through, I'm not gonna leave him just because he snapped. He might be crazy or dangerous, but he does that for Clem and he's totally loyal to her (and Lee). I'm never leaving him, he would never do it, not like other characters who would and did leave Clem. He's the Daryl to my Rick.

  • At first, I shot him. I didn't want AJ or Clem to be affected by his violence, physically or mentally. But I came back and went with to Wellington, and then I left with Kenny.

  • Right after choosing Kenny during my second playthrough, The-K man and I went our separate ways at the Car. One of the most satisfying endings in Video Game history if you ask me.

  • I chose to leave with Kenny because we don't know how are the people in Wellington, they could be criminals for all we know or dangerous people that don't treat children well.
Also we've known Kenny since the beginning and we've been through a lot together, he's the only person left alive that knew Lee (regardless of whether or not they got along well in your playthrough) so I feel like it would be more comforting for a child to stay with someone they know well instead of living with a bunch of strangers. And I actually liked Kenny in season 2 so I couldn't bear the thought of never knowing what happens to him in the end. But it probably won't matter since he is most likely going to die in the first ten minutes of episode 1!

  • In my canon playthrough, I left with him...like other posters have said, Clem and AJ give him hope and keep him sane. Without them, he has nobody. He sees Clem and AJ as his own children, since all of his actually family has died. He flies off the handle at other people because they push him...he got angry at Clem once, felt like shit for it and apologized. Plus, Kenny's my favorite character and I want him to stick around as long as possible!

In my other playthroughs, however, I stay at Wellington because from a storytelling standpoint, it's infinitely better

  • Stayed with Kenny, I've been loyal since April 2012.

  • I stuck with Kenny because he trusts Clem and treats her as his own child, as mentioned, and the same with AJ too. They keep Kenny from going mad really because after Katija and Duck died Kenny felt as though anyone he got close to would end up like his deceased wife and child. I noticed this with Kenny and Sarita in episode 2 when Sarita asks Clem if there is anything different about Kenny. No matter what you reply Sarita carries a box for little bit before Kenny comes over and says he'll carry it. Sarita then says that she is capable of carrying the box right before Kenny snaps (unaware) and demands that he will carry the box before removing it from Sarita's hands. It is clear with Clementine's facial expression that she is pretty suprised/shocked at Kenny's actions. This practically confirms Kenny's overprotective attitude which can be pretty scary for some which is why I think alot of people from the group were scared of Kenny. I'm guessing this occured after Duck and Katija. Overall Kenny is a good guy and AJ and Clem keep him calm plus he's known Clem since the very start. That's why I chose him really because he is caring and trustworthy.
