What if Danys son is not dead?

Just as title says I think that Rhaego might not be dead.

We've never seen him in show neither it's said that Dany seen him in books (when he was already dead)

    Maybe he was born alive and taken by someone.
    I mean it would be pointless if he would die right away.
    I hope for some plot twist (some pun intended)
