Telltale: GOT x ASOIAF
So, after the finale, I thought about the plot in "Telltale's Game of Thrones", "Game of Thrones" and "A Song of Ice and Fire".
As you, reader, know, the history between GOT and ASOIAF begin to diverge at the end of Season 3, almost. The BIG changes start at Season 4. One of these changes is critical for the Forrester situation.
At the show, Stannis march south with his family, sacrifice Shireen and lost the Battle of Winterfell, which didn't happen in the books yet.
At the books, Stannis has to convince northern lords to his cause and free some fortress from the Boltons and the Greyjoys. House Glover lost their stronghold to the iron men, and for those who don't know, House Glover control all the houses of the Wolfswood in the name of the Starks.
Of course, the Stark are dead and Roose Bolton is the Warden of the North. But, Deepwood Motte, House Glover stronghold, is in the hands of Asha Greyjoy. In the books, Stannis freed Deepwood Motte and imprison Asha, gathering more northerners to his cause. Of course he also freed other houses from both of his enemies: Roose and Greyjoys.
So, Telltale game is based on the show and that won't happen. But, if it were to happen, I have no doubt Stannis would help the Forrester for two reasons: First, gathering more men to his army, and second, craft ironwood weapons for him. And, personally, I would love to see that happening.
But I'm a realistic person. With that in mind, I'm guessing the Forrester plot and the conclusion will have no "outsiders". And, when I say "outsiders", I mean characters from the show or the books. If it were based on the books, just like Telltale's The Walking Dead is based on the comics, Stannis could help us out.
So, I have two questions for you:
How do you think the Forrester plot will end? More tragedies, no happy ending, Asher/Rodrik recover from his wounds and retake Ironrath, Ryon is going to be the new lord... Use your imagination.
Do you think Telltale made a mistake? I mean, producing a game based on the show instead of the books? Yes, the show and the name "Game of Thrones" itself is very "attractive" to people, and very advertising as well. But, since the books is more complex and more accurate, it would be a good decision to the history and the plots.
Thanks for your attention

I made an observation at TVtropes.org that House Forrester isn't really House Forrester from the books.
House Forrester in the games is a combination of House Glover and House Manderly. Basically, a Seven-worshiping economically powerful but Southernized House which is loyal to the Starks and plotting revenge. Also, it's a 2nd tier house, not a 3rd tier.
I think Stannis showing up would be awesome, personally, but I think that would depend on whether his actor is available.
Does Stephen Dillan do voice work?
If not, they should just recast him. Joffrey's absence from the game was weird.
They didn't exactly plot any revenge against the Boltons. They actually seem to know it's impossible. And where do you see they worshiping the Seven? I mean, Lady Forrester and her brother is from a southern house, just like Catelyn. And with Cat influence, their children begin to pray for the Sevens. But, they are still Old Gods worshipers.
In the game you mean it's a 2nd tier house, right? Because in the books it's like they don't even exist, so probably they are a 3rd tier house.
I don't know if Stephan does voice work, but probably yes if he knew it was Stannis, his last big acting job.
I think 3rd tier house would be more appropriate. Houses like Glovers and Karstarks are second tiers.
I agree.
Yeah, which is not how they're portrayed at all.
They're portrayed as more powerful and important than the Karstarks really. House Glover doesn't apparently exist in the Telltale universe.
The Forresters worship the Old Gods. I don't really see how it's Southernized, besides Lady Forrester's role.
I think the reason that would stop them is that when their characters die, the actors' contracts expire.
The Glovers can be mentioned in episode 2 by Duncan.
Actually, House Forrester does not worship the Seven.
The game describes them as bannermen of House Glover.
I'm pretty sure its the Whitehills follow the Faith of the Seven, the Forresters (with the possible exception of Elissa) follow the traditional Northern Old Gods (and they have their own cremation ceremony which the Faith doesn't advocate).
I thought that the Forresters were bannermen to House Glover, who in turn were vassals to House Stark?
The guy who played Joffrey decided to retire from acting after he was killed off on the show.
