Previous decisions as linked to season 3

This may have been covered already, and sorry if it has, but; I played seasons 1&2, and 400 Days, on the 360, and now have an Xbox One. Will my decisions from the previous seasons on 360 carry over, if I purchase season 3 on the Xbox One?

Me too. I played Season 1&2 on 360, really want to move over to PS4 for Michonne, Season 3, Wolf Among Us season 2 if it's coming. I'm hoping we can generate save states somehow for new platforms (even just a checklist, don't care how), because I seriously can't afford to buy all the old games over again. I bought everything they released up until GoT and Borderlands (PS4) on either 360 or PS3. Really don't want to lose all my choices for the new games.

  • No you can't transfer save files from one console to another, but do not worry, there is a good chance that your choices will only effect dialogue again and have no lasting impact season to season.

  • You'll have to replay the games on PS4, sorry man. Though some good news is that they run and look really good on PS4, and you can use the video record or screenshot feature to make your playthroughs like a movie you can rewatch.

  • Our issue (my wife and I) is that, playing them again may mean making different choices. We don't want to have to start the stories all over, essentially; we want to continue the stories exactly as we have. There's no way we can remember every choice that was made, in the previous seasons.

  • I agree. I played Season 1 on PS3 and S2 on PS4. I was initially going to replay S1 on PS4 so my choices would carry over, but ultimately decided to just go ahead and play S2. All it effects is a few minor lines of dialogue and guess what most of the random choices they generated ended up being what I did in S1 anyway. I expect the same from S3, although they might have a unique 15 or so minute intro based on your final choice in S2. Either way the main story will essentially be the same, so it shouldn't be a problem.

  • I had never heard of "the walking dead" before season 1 episode 1 become free for Xbox gold members. I enjoyed it so much I played through season one 3 times.
Unfortunately no matter the choices I made there was no saving Lee from being bit.
Season 2 I've continue with 2 differing paths.
So I really hope that next season is released on 360 still.

  • Thanks for the responses. Still really can't afford to repurchase things (only very, very rarely or at a very steep discount, and even then only if it lines up at the right time, because they tend to be short promotions), and I also wouldn't want to accidentally change anything, so I hope they have some kind of cross platform solution. I mean, our choices are already recorded on this site. Is it really too much to give us the option to import them from here going forward (on cross-gen titles)? It's not as if we hadn't already bought and played the games. And I do want at least a previous major choice decision-making thing at the opening if we don't have an import or save generator, similar to those major decision point frozen time moments in their recent games; I only expect there to be 3 or 4 decisions that have a significant impact in TWD s3 or s4, or in TWAU s2. I get every new game they release on console as soon as I'm able. Telltale and Quantic Dream are my favorite studios for years now, because they're really the only ones that make a version of this kind of game, and they're great.

Well, I'll continue on the new platform regardless, because they're so great, but it would be appreciated.

  • So.. they wont transfer from a different console like Ps To Xbox, but it will transfer from 360 to xbox one?
